"for life" should always set off alarm bells.

    • Grove Street fo lyfe.

For life? Whose? If it's life of this service I reckon it might not take long…

    • +4

True. But Micro$haft, after giving me 20GB on One drive for jumping through their various hoops all of a sudden said 'sorry, we're cutting you back to 5GB.' And now, when I try to download my files, it keeps timing out. I'll get them all downloaded eventually in small chuncks by M$ has wasted my time. They're a nuisance.

IMHO none of these cloud services are reliable.

They're useful as a convenient way of temporarily backing up and sharing files. For example, while on holiday you can upload your snaps straight to the cloud in case your phone goes for a swim etc. Then at least you don't lose your snaps. But you'd be wise to download and back up to your own RAID once you get home.

I've had it with these cloud services which rope you in with lots of 'free' storage only to go out of business or to bait and switch by demanding payment once you've uploaded a lot and thereby investing time.

      Obviously, just MHO.

From one of the reviews snuke has listed:

Um – how exactly is ‘metadata checking’ (filenames, not actual data it should be stressed) in any way ‘zero knowledge’? It also means that when the data is being encrypted client-side, the software is sending this metadata to Zoolz!

    Also read the comments.

    Wow yeah um no thanks.

Always remember, if you are not paying much for the product, chances are - you ARE the product.

To clarify after reading………..it is alleged Zoolz then terminated accounts using those filenames as the reason citing illegal content.

      Simply no way Jose.

Thanks to snuke & hashtagbargain for the headsup

      • I understand OneDrive has also terminated accounts for uploading nude photos and other stuff. Tread carefully with cloud providers. It seems they all look at your data.

  • Their client software supports Windows & Mac only.

It's also one of the few apps to blue screen a pc I was testing it on…

      It's also really bad.

Linux users will be so disappointed. All three of them!

  • Good luck working with your password…
    USELESS!

  • inb4 hacked

  • Free is Free, I guess.

Though with the same description for Instant and Cold storage, I'm not sure what the difference is. Other than Instant costs extra.

Thank you this looks perfect for storing my account statement pdfs.

There is no Dana only Zoolz…

    • What I'd really like to do is talk to Dana. Dana? It's Peter.

    • I only looked at this deal to see the GB references.

      • +1

Right there in the title. One hundred GhostBusters of cloud storage.

  • +3

if you dont 'login' within 30 days they will delete all your data…

  • Better off with 200GB OneDrive storage. Free for Telstra customers. deal

  • +4

Major red flag with the metadata sniffing. Completely do not think this is a good deal.

    • Do you understand that the Australian gummints has legislated that your ISP collects every single piece of your metadata if you are merely an Australian citizen and that this is happening as we speak? The Australian government collects every single piece of metadata about you.

If you do not understand this now you know.

If you do understand it I find it weird that you're worried about this business knowing only the files you choose to upload to it.

  • +4

Maybe it should be called "Foolz"

  • All data protected by Nth-Dimensional Ninjas!

  • I have zoolz and it's been great
As for the metadata monitoring, meh nothing to hide so it's not a deal breaker for me
I store windows ISO files on it and it's fast enough to use

  • For new users only. Please update the title and description.

Glad we have switched on members to help eachother out.

You need to go and count again :D

  • 'Someone already has that email. Try another?'

I never did that before, tried two email addresses, the same.

  • no mobile app to backup phone photos?

  • RIP ~43 users who upvoted…
Your data now is in the hands of some seriously dodgy company.
People think this is a great deal but what do you think your data is worth?
    There is absolutely no safeguard(encryption/credentials…)
    Good luck again :)

    Reson for neg-

    • Major flaw with store/provider

    • cheaper/safer elsewhere(with telstra and onedrive)
