Also, minimum shipping fee seems to be $8.95 (they don't offer pickup).
It's $419 which is only about a $35 saving from many other places. Far from the $280 they are suggesting.

Yeah. Unfortunately the nand shortage is starting to bite! In 12/18 months when the new factories ramp up (Toshibas, Samsungs, and SanDisk's) hopefully should see prices come down again -wouldn't surprise me if there was some deliberate shortages however, I'm sure these companies are enjoying the high prices!
Shoulda woulda coulda.. nobody really knew at the time most likely. It's just like trading shares - hindsight is great.
buy two 500gb SDDs and put them in RAID 0, cheaper and faster
