This post contains affiliate links. OzBargain might earn commissions when you click through and make purchases. Please see this page for more information.

A lot of ozbargainer's have been waiting for this deal to come back again, and as usual you are the first to be informed of the 20% off Groupon starting Monday 27th at 12pm until 6pm (unofficially will possibly be active from 10am) which is already active. Using the 15% of web combined with the 7.65% pricepal founder cashback may slightly be a better deal for some, especially if you combine it with buddy bonus (which will double the cashback to 15.3% up to $5)

Valid on all deals excluding eBay. 1 use per account. Max discount $50.

Feel free to use my referral link with thanks https://www.groupon.com.au/visitor_referral/h/339992e0-8e40-… (1st Sign up, then come back and click cashback link or download app and search for your favorite deal). Enjoy

  • Would the eneloop batteries be 4th gen? Can't seem to find anything about the generation of the batteries

  • I dont think it is applying 20% off on some food offers.

  • confused

    it says starts monday

I just tried (didnt buy) a $259 deal and it gave me a discount of $50 flat,
    thats just under 20%

unless its already active, max $50

  • Can you use the code multiple times?

  • Are the chargers with the eneloops smart or not smart? I have no idea and want to buy some rechargeable batteries with a charger

  • Maximum $50 off

  • +1

Is there a way to filter or sort results based on proximity to your postcode? Almost all of the location-specific deals are based in latte land, as if to add insult to the injury of having to live so far away from the city centre.

  • A lot of ozbargainer's have been waiting for this deal

Really? I've never seen anyone say they're waiting for it.

    • We don't say it, obviously.

      • +1

I've been waiting for this deal

    • -3
  • Used twice and not working on third time……..
    (Haven't exceed $50)

  • not working on any deals for me, including the macarons one linked above. the notification at the top of the app says "our 6th birthday is almost here, only 2 days to go."

  • Well ive spent 250 got my 20% off
And made sure it was done via price pal.

It would be a screaming bargain if I got 7% on top

    • How did you use web and got 20% ?

      • Not sure just used the code "party"

  • Just tried to use it for a deal and comes up with message 'Sorry, the code can't apply to this purchase. Check the code's rules.'? Was for Waterbom Park in Bali… any ideas? May not yet be active for all deals (excluding ebay)?

    • You got me excited thinking I would be getting 20% off an existing 50% or so, but it's only 5% off and still out of my price range :(

      • ?? you can afford hundreds of dollars for flights to Bali, but not $38 to get into a theme park?

  • LOL I try to make another purchase and now says not valid…

    I bought about 5-6 deals 15mins ago……

  • +1

    same here
wonder if they've disabled the code

Tried on the theme park deal and another random food deal, both came back with the same message.

  • Not working at the moment.

  • Not working on food deals

    • yeah not working on a food one i just tried now

  • I am going to Perth in June for 5 days. Anything worth doing there with Groupon?

  • Max discount $50 per transaction or in total?

  • Not working anymore

  • 20% not working at the moment for me as well. Was working this morning.

    • +1

Well it is for their 6th birthday I guess. I wonder if they didn't realise it was active and disabled it until releasing it on Monday 5pm like it says in the post, although crossed out at the moment to me. And like a 'party' releasing it for only that night before expiring apparently as the post states.

    • It was activated early. Now you all have to wait till monday ~3pm (officially at 5pm)

  • +2

I don't even care if the charger is the poopy one, I have been putting it off for years but today I finally bought me some Eneloop batteries. Couldn't wait 2 more days to apply the code.

    Thanks for sharing OP =D

  • It says that the gift code is not applicable at the moment. So I guess it was active and will be working again from Monday at 5pm.

    • correct

    • Monday from 12 to 5pm according to the T&C: http://host.groupon.com.au/terms/promo/PARTY

      • Correct

      • looks like they changed the fine print

        • +2

What dicks! I know they have details and things subject to change usually with these things but do they really need to shift it just like that? Shouldn't most people(with money?) be working on Monday during that time? What kind of "party" ends at 5pm?

EDIT: I went ahead and bought some eneloops for the first time in my life anyway. I think I checked out of saving about $8.80 plus not using Cashrewards cause I wanted to use the app. I dunno, am I still an official Ozbargainer?

        • @Tealblue:

Terms stated 12-5 on Monday since I first saw this post, and I subsequently changed the end time of the deal.

          ~2hrs after it was posted

So no, I don't believe they were changed.

        • @Spackbace: Ohh… that still makes for a weird party in my belief. And slightly odd times for even brief online shopping or bargain-hunting.

…….. Unless if it was for a children's birthday party… And they are turning 6 …..

Things are starting to make sense now lol.

          EDIT: Thanks for that clarification.

        • @Tealblue:

All good :) obviously such a big discount that they wanna limit the sale duration to limit the number of purchases somewhat :)

  • -1

not sitewide, i just tried a food one, not working

Sorry, the code can't apply to this purchase. Check the code's rules.

    https://www.groupon.com.au/deals/the-lane-sydney-1-1

    • Starts on Monday

      • saw it, thanks :)

  • the site in te link povides:
"Valid 1 per customer and cannot be used with another discount promo. The discount will be applied to one single voucher and not the basket amount. Maximum discount amount is $50."

Does this still mean it can be used multiple times?

    • Nope

    • +1

They changed the fine print again lol

    • +1

One voucher? Just one? Wow lame party :/

  • +1

Now it looks to be 10% with code birthday

    • Yeh saw that yesterday

15%/ 20% looks more appealing lol

      • Is the 15%-20% still going to be active? by the looks of the site and the app that they have scaled it back lol

        • The notification says to "Check Back at 12pm" so hopefully the 20% will still be occurring

        • Yeh it was unlimited redemption , they changed it to one per account

        • @easternculture:

Sad if it's only 1 per account :(

  • So it looks like 10% unlimited vouchers starting at 12pm?

  • Isn't 20% + 4% CB from Cashrewards is still better than 15%+7.65% Pricepal?

    • No , because you cannot use cashback with the app

      • You can I've used many times. Just go cashrewards, search then open app when prompted.

        • Cash rewards specifically says no cashback for purchase via Groupon's app

        • Tried a few times with cashrewards. If the coupon not on their website, even thought it will be tracked but they reject the cash back.

From what I read about pricepal from previous other posts they are going to give the cash back whether u use code or not and it's not on the pricepal Groupon tc
          Hopefully that's still true

        • @eecchhoo:

          Yes true

Pricepal will give you the cashback even if the code is not advertised , I've used them a few dozen times and cashback always tracks and is paid

Once they even paid me cashback for a transaction I never completed lol

Not sure why cash rewards rejects the CB when used with an unadvertised code

        • @easternculture:

I unfortunately had the opposite lol. Pricepal rejected my purchase on Scoopon before and CR never did.

  • I just successfully used the 20% app discount on a restaurant voucher 11am

  • Just used PARTY twice, no more though (on the same account of course)

  • confirmed can be used twice, one 20% off via app and next 15% off via web

  • +1

Used voucher on deal via app to give myself 20% off. Phone crashed and I returned to enter the code again and it will only give me 15% off now. Wut. A really unstable app. The live chat person seemed to be mute.

    • +1 for the mute chat. If its showing 15% it thinks you have used up a 20% off. Check your groupon account, the 1st may have gone through

      • +1 for the mute chat too. Got error message when paying with paypal and now can't enter the code again.

  • Watch out Guys Only first purchase gives 20% off , next purchase only gives 15% via app

  • Any worthy deals in Perth? at least in term of eat out.

  • Does Cash Rewards work with the Groupon App?

    • yes for me

      • How did use cash reward on Groupon app?

        • I just tried this time around, it seems like I can't do it anymore, it's not opening the app when I click shopping like it used to anymore.

  • Oh, I did have to go and buy the theme park passes a few days ago didn't I! Grumble grumble… Never mind. Good deal OP!

  • +4

    Prices are hiked - https://www.groupon.com.au/deals/cafe-at-the-hyatt-2
this was $69 until this morning in perth and now showing $80 :(

    • +1

Agree. Was preplanning a travel deal which is now much more expensive. Grrr…

    • +1

Yep noticed that too! They have increased prices on a few things!

      • Well they did promise a birthday special 🙄

    • They haven't even updated the title! It still says "Five-Star Buffet Lunch for Two ($69)"

Then you look at the options on the right and it says $80

      • +1

Actually, if you click on the "view all 6 options" button, you'll notice the $69 deal is out of stock, so by default, it lists the next cheapest option, which is the $80 one.

The difference between the $69 and the $80 is that the $80 groupon comes with 'speciality seafood dish'.

Here's the details of all the available options:

$69 for a five-star buffet lunch for two people (total value up to $109.90)

$80 for a five-star buffet lunch for two people with speciality seafood dish (total value up to $127.90)

$136 for a five-star buffet lunch for four people (total value up to $219.80)

$158 for a five-star buffet lunch for four people with speciality seafood dish (total value up to $255.80)

$203 for a five-star buffet lunch for six people (total value up to $329.70)

$239 for a five-star buffet lunch for six people with speciality seafood dish (total value up to $383.70 )

  • Is it until 6pm now?

    • according to T&C's yes

  • +2

as of now, they still give you 20% discount even if you use the website , not the app. So you might as well get cashrewards.
