Pretty sure this deal was posted here a while ago, but then went out of stock for a long time.

"APOLOGY NOTICE: Due to overwhelming demand we have sold out of PCCD Starcraft II. We are unable to take further backorders as our supplier cannot confirm future supply. For current backorders we are working on ensuring your orders can be fulfilled. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."

How long has that been up there?

    • "On Backorder - Out of stock, due 17-Aug-2010, we will backorder for you and despatch asap"

I'd be willing to bet that date changes to the 18th tomorrow. :P

  • Well no, it's not the 'cheapest ever'. That was held by JB Hifi when they had the F&F sale. I couldn't find stock at the F&F stores, but got it for $69 from another JB Hifi.

    The price is OK though.

    • +1

Yeah, I got it for $53 from JB Hifi, week 1 after release. Was very happy with that.

  • excellent game been playing campaign and trying to do every little side bits, very addictiing even if youre not competitive.

  • great thanks - i've been waiting for this to get back in stock.

    purchased.

  • ughhh…

I pre-ordered from CDwow for $46 in March thinking I got a good buy, then realised it's a bloody EU version when it arrived.

Sent it back for refunds and they claim they haven't received it yet.

Looks like I'll have to bite and buy this…

    • What's wrong being EU version? Can;t play online?

      • +1

EU version is locked to European servers. You won't be able to connect to Australiasian servers (you'll get 300+ ping)

        • Pings are bad anyway. Games are hosted on battlenet not locally.

        • oh wow, good to know… lucky me, I almost bought one from shoptonet UK

  • hmm… yeah, i didn't noticed the backorder bit… the add to cart button don't even show until today. i was too excited i guess…

    Really? $53???

    • I believe he might have been referring to this deal but it's only at limited JB Hifi stores.

    • I think this link is just for web orders, while the one listed in the original post has information for store availability as well. Im guessing that which ever one you order from, it will be shipped tomorrow when they get stock in.
I just ordered mine from the web only one, free delivery and from previous experience, DSE deliver quickly.

  • It looks like the same product anyway which ever link you purchase from.

  • I got mine from EB Games for $69 - they had tons of copies because they were trying to flog it for $99. I just asked them to price match Dick Smith and they did, without calling. Worked for me, not sure about others.

    • +5

I went to 2 EB's - they refused to price match at all. Even refused to price match JB at $89 lol. Man i hate EB

      • +1

Wow really? I thought it was a policy of EB?

        • yeah i believe there catch phrase is "seen it cheaper, we'll match it"

sounds like you have a dodgy EB…

      • I couldn't get them to price match either and it was sold out practically everywhere else around my area. Ended up giving into them (tried so hard not to - it's like pleasing the devil) and bought for $99.95 even though their site advertised $98??? Just lol'd and didn't care at that point. Also there was a sign that said "manager's specials" above SCII. I inquired about it and the staff told me "manager's specials" only means its a hot game and not regarding sale price…

        /rant

        • +7

then why do you still support and encourage dodgy sales practice by buying from them?

          • @slowmo: Like I said I tried hard not to, but the game got the better of me and EB was the only place with stock left. Alternatively, I could have purchased from Blizzard but that requires downloading the game. But yes, I do feel guilty.

            • @gummibears: Right, you've got a "Manager's specials"! So, enjoy the game and don't look back. For 12 years waiting, worth! Right? But not EB again. :)

        • Apparently (and I use it loosely), the terms for the price match require that the place you've seen it cheaper actually have stock. I've had several EB employees weasel out of it with this line. I usually just laugh and walk out.

          • @ryang: Some EB shops will also only price match stores in the area or same shopping center.

      • thats rough. Saw it at EB Games and all the copies had the "seen it cheaper we will match it" stickers all over them.

      • I asked my local EB to pricematch Dicksmith. They rang Dicksmith, and gave it to me for $59.95. Funny thing is I went to Dicksmith 10 mins earlier and they were selling it for $69.95 but were out of stock.

    • Cool, I will ask my fd to give a try on that. ":)

  • I got one from JB for $69 last week,
Great game, addicting as well… never really play the original starcraft but loving the second one, I recommend getting it !!!

    • -1

Sorry to be 'that guy' but the word is 'addictive'

      • Actually, "addicting" is a valid word and has the same meaning as "addictive". But because it's not used often, people think it's not a word, which means they don't use it. "Addicting" will be extinct one day. Vicious cycle.

      • no need to be sorry for being 'that guy' who made the wrong correction :p

  • ordered mine this morning, status is backordering

  • +5

EB GAMES in the city (George St, Sydney) pricematched $69 at JB no worries.

needed a second copy for a mate and EB Games Hornsby flatly refused to do any matching whatsoever. Avoid EB Games Hornsby like the plague.

    • when did you price match? Does JB still have stock? If it works, I'm getting my copy now!

  • Great, its back!
Now I gotta tell my friends this who missed out.

  • Why was this posted again? It looks like they are still out of stock from a few weeks ago.

    • It was out of stock, now it's on back order status, presumably because they are going to receive their supply tomorrow.

      • +1

yeah, hopefully… dicksmith's rarely disappointing… they sent all my preorders with couriers early in the morning…

  • +2

    kekekekekekekeke cheapzor

  • +1

    Its $69 from jbhifionline.com

    • with free shipping

    • What's the relationship between jbhifi.com.au and jbhifionline.com?

      • jbhifionline just the online store.

  • "It's the cheapest ever!"

Not the cheapest ever, it was $55 in a 4 hour JB Hi-Fi sale/promotion.

  • -2

There was a special Saturday only promotion on at my local Joyce Mayne for $50, Dick Smith beat the price and I got it for $45 :D

    • where is it?

    • wow dude -.-

    • +7

      @frankyman

      Thanks for posting it!

      NOT!!!!!!

Just hate it when people use ozbargain but don't bother to contribute!

      • I'm sorry :( I'll do my best next time, I swear it! Was at Rockhampton Joyce Mayne

        • +1

Sorry to gang up on you, Franky, but neosin is right. There are too many people using this site that only leech but not contribute. I really hope Scotty and the mods will force people to contribute (whether it may be voting or submitting deals to earn their spot in this community)

          • +1

            @ur2dads: Agreed… everyone should contribute…

  • +3

if you are a battlet.net fan, BE PREPARED for the reverse evolution of online gaming, its the first time in my life that I got so sick and bored of an ancient console-like online system for a PC game, no online chat, no irc-like chat channels, no irc like commands to whisper, add friends etc, no LAN, no hosting of maps, theres no way to find which map is filled with players and the game annoys you with FACEBOOK spam…. omg, theres no escaping from this social group sighz…

  • I went into Sydney city EBgames shop today but they didn't want to match the price Dick Smith posted even EBgames says they will beat any genuine competitor´s advertised price.

  • I just love how it's .67c just to be the lowest..

  • +2

EBGames are absolute conmen, i refuse to give my business to the Hornsby, Glenrose and Rhodes stores business. Too many times I have received poor customer serivice, refusal to match price etc. They prey on soccer mums and little kids.

Props though to St Ives EB, always been a good experience there and never had a problem pricematching. They are the ones that know how to run a business!!

I downloaded the SCII client online and just bought a key online for $40, much easier and cheaper!

  • I got my copy from Target for $79.00 at Ringwood. This is an introduction offer from Thursday 12th August 2010 to Wednesday 18th August 2010 or sold out. After that, I went to EB Games and ask how much SC2 in-store, they said $99.95 and see if I could ask EB Games to match the same price from Target - they said no.

    • ok, so you paid more for it? vote withdrawn

  • -4

    Hey "fm",

Add (+postage cost - $6.95) on your title.

    • +3

      it's free delivery dude

      • -1

        It does not includes delivery.

    • -3

Don't lie! It includes the cost of postage!

      • +1

        i don't lie, can u read?

      • +1

        wtf lol, is bedrock trolling?

  • +1

Support DICK, EB isn't worth the trouble.
Been denied legitimate pricematches far too many times.

  • I think you mean support woolworths, not dick!

  • Got mine yesterday, but it sold out now. Whoever ordered in the first wave, how long did it take to receive your package? My status is "Backordered", which can mean anything.

  • i cancelled my order due to the fact that everywhere is out of stock and i dont have patience.
anyone know where it is in stock in-store?

    • You can order it from the battle.net store; they have plenty of digital stock.

      • $89 for Australian version $60 for American version. Something not right about that currency conversion…
Ah well, either digital copy or order through JB Hi Fi and get it in a couple of weeks.
        really screwed myself over here…

        • So if you buy the digital version it's cheaper but it's the US version?

  • wow StarCraft II is almost out of stock everywhere but on the first day it came out Chatswood JB hifi had 1000 copies in store selling for $69 bux and not a single person was touching them… 1 month later and your lucky to buy this game for the full $99 RRP from any store online or retail!

I guess those fans who walked into a store on the day it came out got the best deal the ones who pre-ordered not so much..!

The game i'm really looking forward to more then any other is GuildWars2 now thats something i'll be spending allot of my time playing!

  • I just got an order update… back ordered until the 20th of August. Damn, I thought they'd get it shipped today.
