Sony 43" 8000D HDR 4K TV $899 in Sony Official store

70

This is my first post in ozbargain and as a bargain hunter I really got much useful information here.

Just got this sale mail in as a registered Sony member. Seems Sony is making a huge summer clearance. Sony 43" 8000D HDR 4K TV is now sold $899 and 49" is now $999.Suitable for anyone who missed Feb's sale.

A bit annoying, as it was marked as a duplicate of the EBAY post.
I'd rather purchase directly from Sony for this sort of thing.

EDIT: Apparently it has been edited to be ebay and sony store now

    • This is a 43" TV. The dupe was a 49" TV.

No the original deal is for both the Sony eBay and the Sony Store as per the title "@ Sony or Sony Store eBay". It wasn't just for the eBay store.

No that post has been for both the Sony eBay & Sony Store since the 14/3. See revision history

And yes that was a different TV as already mentioned above, not related to this deal.

I apologise. I do remember the post being originally just the ebay sale.
It wasn't until i posted my comment above that I see it was changed to include both.

  • This TV was on sale for $799 in the last few sales. Pretty stupid to have in on sale for $899 at a time when manufacturers are trying to get rid of 2016 stock.

  • Well if it has been $799, and is likely to be that price again, then this can't be a deal can it?

Got this one at $799 a while back. Too two weeks to arrive.

The HDR seems washed out to me. The "smart" parts are slow, probably due to them using a $5 CPU. Don't know if I'll ever get security updates. Most parts of the Smartphone remote are being discontinued.

I'd be incredibly angry at $1800, but for $800 it's not too bad.

Most of the Hisense M7000 reviews point to it being a much better TV the Sonys. Given that the 50" version is back down to $898 I would much rather go for that than this.

Why isn't there any deals from Sony for non-4K 43"TV's ?
    Am after a smart 43" (non Kogan/Soniq) TV. don't need 4K

  • What?? The price of the 49 inch tv is the same the targeted deal for ebgames deal a while baackkkkkkkk. i don't feel special anymore XD

  • Bought this in the last sale for 700 using the survey coupon and I couldn't be more disappointed, Standard and high definition tv look better on my 5-year-old Bravia, and the 4k hdr is very lacking, I wouldn't recommend buying this at all

  • Can you guys comment on if this would make a good computer monitor?
Size is there, pixel count equivalent to 4 x 1080p… Not for gaming, just standard office and maybe photo type work.
