High Pressure Hose Attachment with 2 Brass Tips $14.99 @ Aldi from 11 March (Sat)

40

Not sure what the quality is like or whether it works as well as a Karcher/Gerni, it could be handy for small and quick jobs and for this price it won't hurt to try. This one is made of aluminium, a similar one from Bunnings sells for $24.99 and it's made of plastic: https://www.bunnings.com.au/ladco-v-power-blaster-hose-end-s….

If it worked as well as a Karcher/Gerni why would anyone buy a Karcher/Gerni?

The name/brand difference. Sort of why the frick do people buy CSR sugar for more $ when it is EXQACTLY the same as Homo Brand.

Sheesh, so you think that a $14.99 nozzle for a hose does the same as a high pressure cleaner with a pump! LOL. I have a bridge and state for sale if you're interested.

BTW maybe some people don't want to buy "HOMO" brand.

        @ hello0:

        Umm… you're delusional :).

Even a base level Katcher/Gerni will develop 1600psi and a few hundred litres per hour flow rate.

Maximum allowable household tap pressure is 500kPa (or about 70psi).
They aren't "EXQACTLY" the same at all :).

Whilst I'm sure this hose attachment has its purposes, don't be fooled into thinking its anything like a pressure washer (even a cheap entry level one).

        • +1

wait wait.. i misunderstood… i thought this was only the lance that you hooked into your gerni/karcher system… even so, at 70PSI over hundreds of thousands of years WILL reshape rock/stone.

        • +1

hahahahaha… yep, you are 100% right! It will do the job, eventually ;).

    • Wonder how many psi mains pressure is?

      • 80PSI, but the key with this is that it just takes longer… In fact over many tens of thousands of years normal rocks are made smooth with only gentle flowing water.

Wonder how many psi mains pressure is?

Get a tester and attach it to your tap to find out. Every area is different.

        • Any bargains for a mains pressure tester? Bunnings one is $18.69

  • this one seems better as its aluminum.

this one seems better as its aluminum.

Bunnings used to sell a aluminium one and it was rubbish.

      • Thanks for the heads up.
I read the comments below and looks like these things are all around garbage.

  • Will get one see hows it goes.

  • Bought one last year when it was on sale and left it outdoor.

One day tried to clean the outdoor furniture. Plugged it in and then water won't come out. Had a look and saw a lower half of the body of a skink sticking out of the nozzle.

I tried to pile it out but only half of the body was out. Spent 15 mins to clean up the inside before i can use it again….. then a bird dropped by and got a free lunch.

so how well did it work after you had completed your contribution to the ecosystem?

    • +1

I had the exact same thing happen with our's from Bunnings! But I had a big juicey gecko half squished out the end of the nosle. So gross!

  • +2

I bought one from Bunnings which looks exactly the same as this and I think it was for the same price.

I might have crappy connectors (or the connectors on the wand itself are crappy) but I find the wand exploding off all the time !!

I bought this for distance (I had to clean second storey windows), but do not even think about trying to use it to cleans paths, pavement - even a trigger hose attachment has more pressure.

    • +1

+1 RE: crap pressure. Bought something similar, tried it on a path, wet the path but that's about it.

  • +1

As above - I bought a very similar unit from Bunnings a while back.. Pressure not great. My standard Holman trigger nozzle provides more pressure.

  • I don't know why people are comparing this to pressure cleaners like Karchers and Gernis. This is for things like cleaning out gutters and cleaning windows and stuff.

I don't know why people are comparing this to pressure cleaners like Karchers and Gernis.

Read the deal description and the claim that this is a good as a Karcher/Gerni.

This is for things like cleaning out gutters and cleaning windows and stuff.

And it's crap at that job, use a proper tool like a high pressure cleaner or just a regular hose attachment.

      • Deal description says: "Not sure what the quality is like or whether it works as well as a Karcher/Gerni". No claim there that it's as good as a Karcher/Gerni in the OP. Aldi and Bunnings link to a similar product does not mention a Karcher or Gerni either.

Is this a replacement for a proper pressure washer? No. But there are times where some volume combined with a bit more pressure is needed, which is where this would fit. I find pressure washers too cumbersome to climb up on the roof with and this appears long enough to be able to stand on the roof and hose down the gutter without having to bend much. Or this would be good to clean my 2nd story windows with, which the pressure cleaner and hose gun are doing a pretty poor job at doing.

Or this could be useful for people who have limited storage.

        • No claim there that it's as good as a Karcher/Gerni in the OP.

Who said the OP made that claim. The claim was made by someone in the comments who backtracked after being told they were delusional.

I find pressure washers too cumbersome to climb up on the roof with

Why take the pressure washer on the roof? Get an extension hose and take the lance.

Or this would be good to clean my 2nd story windows with

It's useless for doing second story windows, just use a regular hose.

          @Maverick-au:
As I said, I don't know why people are comparing this to pressure cleaners. Then you pointed to the deal description.

Extension hoses arent going to get up to where I need it, and you're not going to be able to get the nozzle part up there in the first place. Much easier to drag a 30m hose.

I know what works and doesn't work for my house. And in some cases I spent way too much money to find out. $15 for something that at minimum will clean my gutters is cheap when you consider that $15 gets you a junk hose gun that lasts 6 months.

        • @FiftyCal:

The extension house goes on the high pressure side and they come in lengths from 10 to 30m extension.

  • After reading all the comments I think I'll stick to my Karcher and save my $15 for something else. Thanks for all your input.

I have a little brass fitting with a roughly .9mm nozzle I got from Bunnings for about $4. It has decent pressure for many jobs, but it kills Gernis etc with its volume. Sometimes volume is more important than high pressure.

If youre cleaning a neglected surface, a pressure washer is helpful. If you do it more frequently, this might just do nicely.

    • I have a little brass fitting with a roughly .9mm nozzle I got from Bunnings for about $4.

That little brass nozzle is far better then this product. I don't know if it's still available but they were about six dollars, will last forever and the o-ring is easily replaced and the only maintenance. They probably dumped it because it was so well made as they didn't get repeat sales.

      • The little nozzle is a ripper. If Bunnigns dont sell them any more, Holman and Neta still make them. Im pretty sure theres a plastic version too, which would be good for inside chassis rails to flush after the beach etc. No scratching through painted internal surfaces.

  • Got one this morning and its good.No complaint. recommend BUT don't expect it works like very high pressure one.
