While we are all waiting for the 1080 ti, here's a tempting deal for an 1080 landed for only around $650 :) Gee those are dropping fast, remember the good ol days when 1070's were 650.

Very nice. I bought a GTX 1060 last week for $340 from the eBay sale and have been very impressed (upgrading from a Radeon HD6870 so that's a huge upgrade :)) however if I knew the prices were about to drop I would have waited and got a 1070 or 1080.
Although Ti would be nice, I would think this card would pretty much do anything and everything I would ever need.
1060 is still enough for 1080p gaming tbh. No need for the top end, you get same value if you talking about performance - price
its coming up as 534 Euros

Any deals on a 1070 would be appreciated too
There's one here
Seems to have expired, price increased
Isnt this pretty much the standard price now?
Don't think I've ever seen a 1080 for under 700 shipped before.
No I haven't either, but given there were some announcements earlier this week..
Just searched it up and 1080's are now cut to $499USD, though still hasn't been reflected on Amazon US yet. Assuming Amazon US will soon be $499 + $15 USD shipping, $514 usd still converts to ~AU $677 delivered which is more expensive than this deal. Newegg has dropped their price already to US$503, but they are still over AU$700 delivered because of their high shipping charges
@lyl:
Yeah, I have been looking too, seems most prices haven't been updated yet, but I suspect it's a matter of time. So this is a good deal - I'm actually pretty tempted as it'll be at least an extra 300 for the TI
Edit: annnnd bought. The MSI seems to get good reviews and really need something before Mass Effect drops - I doubt very much the 1080TI will be here before then at decent prices =/
@lyl: thats fair and ur post is still a good
but for those patient. that $499 is the new "RRP" and nobody smart pays RRP
Depends on how patient you want to be. I think itll be a many more months before the price goes below 499USD delivered, as now there willl be lots of demand for the 1080s because of the price drop.
The 600usd RRP for the 1080s managed to hold on for nearly a year, and only dropped now because Nvidia annouced the price drop this week, so until we see alternatives in this price range (1080ti is too expensive), we might not see cheaper deals than this for a while.
@lyl: the 600 usd price held due to stock issues. i highly doubt they have stock issues for 1080 this far down the production timeline
Stock was only unstable May-July, by August stock was stable. It's been stable for over half an year now yet RRP has still been retained.
And you might be right about further dropping lol: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/295428
Yes it's here if you live in sydney and pick up
Galax 1080 - $699

Or

Absolute bargain price for now I guess
dafuq is "Galax"? they couldnt afford the Y?
@furythree: Y so serious?
NM
Wow these things are getting cheap since the 1080ti announcement.
Ryzen Released
Nvidia Fuming
Fuming about what?
Hmmm, not sure if I should bite the bullet now or wait for the 1080TI. These things aren't quite there for 4k….but it'd be a bit of a bump from my 980TI.
I'd say it's a huge waste of money to upgrade from a 980Ti.
if u can afford a 980 ti and a 1080ti….chances are you can probably afford it
is this beter than my geforce 2 mx ?
Nah. Better get a Voodoo 2 instead. I hear they're the shizz.
But don't skimp out and get the 12MB version.
Tnt2 is the shiz
3DFX Voodoo 1 was pure pimp spec in my day :).
Pffft, your measly cards don't even come with a mouse port. Bow to my VGA Wonder!!!
I guess no warranty?
If you buy from Amazon, Newegg etc. etc., you get 1 month (I think is 1 month or more) replacement in case the card is DOA or has problems plus (and the most important) free return label while in Australia in most cases you have to pay for return.
Also one thing that too many people don't consider is that even if you get 1-3 year/s local/international warranty, you still need to pay for returning the item to Taiwan or nearby so you should consider if it's worth it.
And there is still the risk that the regional retailer will say that the item is OK so you must pay delivery fees (again) if you want to get your piece of junk back.
Yesterday I bought a 1070 for $560 AUD. I only game at 1080p. My question is this: Should I return the 1070 and pay an extra $90 for a 20% increase in performance? I can afford it :P
No, its overkill, a 3 year old graphics card can play games at 1080p at highest settings
Yeh Im just watching some comparison vids and the 1070 can achieve 60fps at 1440p so 1080p is overkill. Thanks man :D
Not if you want a consistent 60fps.

This is pretty much my graphics card and my setup, Amd 7870 Gigabyte(4 year old card) which is about $100-150 now. Goes quite cheap.
You can see it playing Battlefield with Frames of a 55-60. This is without overclocking too. Except i was running a i5-3570K
I'm not sure if I should get this or wait for the Asus 1080 Strix to go down.
jus wait for the 1080ti to be released, then the 1080 will drop even more
The longer we wait the better it gets this year
At least until 1st July this year.
Only neg is warranty on this card
Get your popcorn ready and mash the F5!!!
This deal is so good it makes me somewhat regret my 1070 purchase from Amazon for $600Aud on launch.
These GPUs are finally selling for a very solid price so people who had the strength to wait will be able to enjoy fantastic prices.
$600 for a 1070 at launch is a very good price.
Yeap it is - but this deal is sensational and the good news for consumers is that it will only get better when the 1080ti is available for sale and again when Vega is launched.
It is a good time for PC fans.
I myself will look at Vega, but more likely Navi for my next upgrade - as I have bought a WQDH monitor with Free Sync.
Think of all the time you have enjoyed with your card though to date. Why buy free sync monitor with nvidia card?
@jiberz: oh yeah I'm not complaining. It's more that I'm sprooking the deal. I fully understand the early buyers tax. Because I got super into Ultrawide and I was watching videos and reviews of them to the point where I really wnated one but was unwilling to pay the GSync tax.
The Gsync 3440x1440 monitors are just way too expensive right now and there is a solid yet somewhat risky Korean eBay option for freesync.
I figure the 1070 will do an ok job until the new line of AMD is released and AMd will price is very competitively so might as well just wait for that
I just bought a second hand acer predator 27" 1440p 144hz gsync monitor for $600.
Second hand seems to be the only way to get one cheap.
I've seen some UW monitors on gumtree for around the same price. Maybe a little more.
@locknuts: oh yeah - I just bought mine from a Korean manufacturer for $900. The ones on gumtree are probably people trying to resell the MSY ones they bought for $300.
Those are not 1440p and only 60hz.
Where did you find the predator for that price? Thats the exact model I want
Gumtree. The guy even delivered it to my house. Like I said though: second hand.
Can i play WorldBox 3 at 60fps?
Man I got my 1070 variant of this card for 600 :/
I've got a GTX560Ti, and looking to upgrade; is this the sort of thing I need, or can anyone suggest a good bang-for-buck model?
I played Witcher 3 just fine, but the specs seem to say I'll have trouble with other newer games (eg DOOM)
For budget, go AMD RX480 4GB version, you can get it for less than $300
I ordered a 1070 for like $580 a few days ago on B&H. :\
My only concern is that the Ti version usually holds up fairly well with the subsequent generation, whereas the difference is greater between say a 980 and. 1080 (and potential 2080).
So what should the 1080TI prices be like in comparison?
Probably around the $1100 mark. Not cheap.
Prob best to just jump on a 1080 then, what is Amazon's warranty like? Will they pay for shipping if I have any issues with this card?
Will 3570k bottleneck the GTX 1080 when playing BF1 @ 1080p?
It will be a bottleneck, yes. Will it make things unplayable? No way.
OP very good find, thank you!
But I'll wait a bit more since nVidia is dropping the pa… because they are scared of AMD competition.
See prices are dictated by the monopoly!
Maybe a silly question but how do we order from Amazon France? Do we just use Google translate? Thanks.
Yep, chrome has an auto-translate every page feature which comes in handy
Did anyone get shipping confirmation? I see they've changed delivery to 1-2 months now, which seems pretty excessive.
yes, i purchase it on 6th and they shipped it on 7th, as per amazon, delivery schedule for 16th and as per DHL tracking i can expect it to be delivered by 10th.
I purchased mine on the 5th and I'm still waiting for it to ship… -_-'
that's strange, did you contacted them to request reason for delay. Have they already taken money out of your acc? my money was deducted in the morning and by evening i got shipping confirmation along with free download code for "For Honor or Ghost Recon". I am not sure whether the code will work for Australian customers'
Price seems to have risen to $486.8 EU + 22.34EU = 509.14EU ($700+ AUD)
Yep, probably out of stock at the default Amazon seller.
Possibly, but the seller is still listed as Amazon.FR @ $584.16 (inc VAT) next third party seller is EUR 707.94.
Yep…I had ordered but cancelled it. Kicking myself now =/
Without warranty I should have order one too, MSI GTX 1080 are the best
Wow looks great, I've been looking into buying an MSI Gaming X series GPU because of their near silent operation
