The effect will wear off :)
Don't get it - any duty when shipped to AU? And why is the original price $3,101.66? Mind blown!
Also - international manufacturer's warranty - what on earth does that mean?
Worldwide warranty?
Budget to pay GST of ~$130 and a customs service free of $50.
You might be lucky, but Iām pretty sure Customs would be very familiar with the price of commonly imported electronics no matter the declared value on the box.
Agreed - by the time you finish with the hassle of dealing with customs and lack of warranty better to just pay a bit more and get it locally.
I think so.
I'm sure we'll see another 20% of ebay sale before long. (similar to the last Bing Lee offer for $13xx).
Buy or not any codes?
I would probably suggest paying the extra $180 to get local stock. Plus if it is shipping from o/s you do run the risk of being caught at customs.
where can you pay $180 more to get local stock?
genuinely interested. I have other quads but the mavic is so tempting!http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DJI-Mavic-Pro-RC-Drone-with-True-ā¦
use c10 to get it to 1529 ish.
thanks. any ideas if you can claim GST back?
cheers
I daresay you'd have to email them but I don't see why not. It apparently ships from DJI's Melbourne warehouse.
@Jimothy: I doubt that. I ordered one from DJI's online store and it shipped from China.
Thanks. I hope they will go out of stock soon or I will get one.
How does that work for import duties?
@Jimothy: The website showed the GST amount, and says they will pay any taxes and charges.
@ets27: I asked them if they provide a tax invoice with GST showing, but they only provide a PayPal invoice.
Fair enough. If it comes straight from dji then not much morebyou can do š
180more?from
As much as I want one of these, I think the novelty would wear off quickly. What do people do with these? You almost need to be a pro videographer or extreme sports person etc to get the best use out of it. I've watched some YouTube vids taken with the Mavic, and while they look amazing, I get bored after about 2 minutes (gorgeous though the footage is).
I disagree, they're crazy fun. I got one to fly around, the camera was an afterthought for me, and although takes some amazing quality 4k from up above. I wanna give the FPV a go soon. Not a cheap drone though, thats for sure.
Avoid Zapals like the plague.
No response on ETA, 8 days and several emails for my DJI Phantom 3 Standard, they finally told me none in stock and manufacturer is also out.
Cancelled the order, bought from DWI, delivered by Toll Priority in 4 days to Perth.
Indeed, I can believe it. I had an order placed last month that took 35 days before they could get hold of the stock. And the only reason they found stock was because I would post daily messages to their Facebook page. Useless.
Also, it looks like cashrewards is no longer available with Zapals. It used to be 7%.
Normal shipping takes 5 weeks. Other places, normal shipping is 3 weeks. Same time order, similar items. Go figure
RRP AU$3,101.66
LOL?
Zapals cust service and delivery times are appalling. Avoid at any cost
for anyone who does get this, i recommend the flymore pack, or at least 1-2 extra batteries. 1 battery goes down way too quick IMO. There are chargers on ebay that can charge 3 batteries simultaneously for ~50 or so though it can get pretty hot when running full pelt.
Zapals can kiss my ass! SNAPPERHEADS!!!!
While their customer service was lacking, I ordered my drone last Thursday and it arrived today.
Still yet to take it out as I only just got home (at 7:30pm) and I need an Aus power plug for the charger, but all looks good!
wtf i could just make my own one
