First post please be kind, I was looking for the best price on a DJI Action 4, now that it seems to be $329 everywhere and noticed Shopback is 18% cashback at Big W Market. I'm sure there are lots of great deals just don't forget that Big W Market Purchases are capped at $100.

    I purchased the DJI 3 a few months back and its the best action cams I have owned. There was a huge gap between my last camera and the DJI so things like image stabilisation have come a long, long way. Plus the DJI was one of the action cams that doesn't require an external case to go underwater - an absolute must for me.

      Having owned the 3 and 4 there is only a very small difference in the boot up time and colour science in favour of the four that I've noticed.

        Thanks for that. I was wondering about the differences. I have the 3, but I know that the 4 has D log, which I would find really useful. I think your comments will keep me sticking with the 3.

    I'd buy this but very weary about the tracking of Big W as I bought something earlier in the week and it has still not tracked.

    I have a gopro 7 and thinking about the switch to osmo action, especially that I can connect dji mic2 to it. Any insight on how the move will be? Was thinking of getting GoPro 12 or 11 (not too fussed about latest gen stuff)

      I made this move about 18 months ago and it has been great. The DJI operates in a very similar manner to the old GoPro UI, quality is great, and for this money its a no-brainer. I've got two Action 4's, neither have ever skipped a beat and cant justify the spend to get to the 5 as the IQ is great on the 4.

      Yeps this is the way… stuff ShopBack and their non-existent support, someone emailed me back saying my cashback issue was fixed… and guess what still not fixed and since I notified them of this… crickets and silence.

      My last email I just told them if it ain't fixed, all I am going to do is negative feedback wherever I can, too much on the line when you do large cashback as the amount is sometimes the difference from buying with cashback or just going with a store with a lower discount. You don't get the cashback then you paid more than if you would of.

      @gotyourback Shopback needs to get its internal house in order for Shopback to thrive.

      no they haven't. Its a bummer truly. Seems to be a ego clash between Google and DJI. Well app is not their strong point anyway. App wise Insta360 is the best.

      Not sure if it helps but its on the Samsung App store.

      Installs normally and is not detected as an unauthorised app.

      I tried to install it through the direct apk download from DJI and my work's corporate profile and security settings didnt allow it.

      Then tried from the Samsung app store and it installed fine luckily.

      It's crap that they havent sorted this out with Google yet.

        It's dangerous, they refuse to update the app to comply with new security and app standards.

        I have no idea how it's survived on the Apple store given they tend to be more restrictive, but it's possible the device defaults make the security holes irrelevant on iPhones.

        Or it's just broken and noone at Apple requires the same standards

    Any deal on 5 pro? Is it worth it to get 5 pro or 4 should do the job?
    Not a regular user. Probably use once or twice a year for snorkeling.

      If you can get gopro 8 on the cheap, go get that as I've just did it for my thailand trip. Underwater it was great. But yeah only if you can get the gopro 8 cheap like 150 or less, else just get the 4, as haven't seen deals for the 5 yet.

    Wouldn't a 360° camera be a better option in most situations?

    Asking cause I've never used an action camera

      If you plan on editing all your footage or viewing it via VR, 360 might be a better option. Personally I find it clunky to look around in 360 when reviewing footage and prefer to simply point the camera at only what I want to film on the day.

      The lens would always be worse for a 360 due to distortion compared to a traditional if thats your thing

      Honestly we have a 360 camera and I wish we had gotten a standard action cam.
      Files are larger, lower quality and need to be edited to be viewed.

    If you are on the fence, at this price (or less in the comments) it's a no brainer. Great for both top-side or underwater videos, good in low light (for an action cam) and solid battery and stability vs many issues on the Go Pros like overheating and random failures.
