Another long time user, first time poster, be gentle :P

High Quality 3D Printer Filament PLA 3mm 1Kg Roll - Free pick up from Huntingdale (VIC) or $10 postage ($0 extra postage fees for additional items!)

Yes it's not real bargain if you purchase one, but it is when u get 2 or more :)

Personally tested on Ultimaker 2 3D printer with no problem. I am just a regular user, but sick of those inconsistent quality 3D filament you get from Ebay, So I've personally order a pallet of this HQ filament, but obviously a bit too much for one person. I have 85 rolls of various colours left as of this post.

  • what makes this filament high quality? at a glance it looks like any other roll

    • fair question

    • That's the problem I had. They all look the same physically. I order this from straight from manufacturer, they had different grade of filament you can choose from. Although not their highest spec due to $$$, this is enough that I don't get temperature variation, breakage, etc very handy if you doing long print!

A word of warning. This is 3mm filament. Most printers use 1.75mm filament. Make sure your printer (extruder) actually supports 3mm filament before ordering.

  • $23.95 for eSUN filament plus shipping, free shipping on orders over $150… This price isn't amazing, but thanks for the post.

EDIT: at flat rate shipping, could definitely work out cheaper! my bad.

  • I usually order from Aurarum for 3mm or 1.75mm, local and very good quality, but they're a tad more than your average ($30-38) but free shipping for > $90. Both their PLA and ABS have not failed me for really long prints (20hrs+); temps are 220 for PLA.

    • I cannot judget Aurarum quality, but the good one are usually around that much (or more if branded) commercially, hence why I bothered to order a pallet of it to get it cheaper :)

      • ah fair enough.

    • Aururum are the worst. I bought a sample reel and could never get it to work. Was in constant communication with the guy as to why (I wanted a local supplier) but couldn't get it working. Discovered that the 3mm started at 2.85 then changed width to 3mm. This mean't it wouldn't fit into my bowden tube, and even if it did the extrusion would have been way off. When I told him about it he got unreasonable saying;
"First of all some 3mm filament on the market IS actually 3mm filament and not 2.85mm. So the filament that you got is not faulty. Back then it was 3mm+-0.1mm. Second of all you are telling me how crappy is my filament, tell me that you MIGHT buy some filament in the future and demand to send new spool?".

I've been in the 3D printer industry for years now. This guy has no idea what he is talking about. Beware the filament was horrible (it may have improved since then) and the guy is unreasonable and unprofessional.

    • I found Aururum's ABS to be inconsistent, and generally poor.

The best ABS I have got was from Bilby 3D. They have a shopfront in Alexandria, Sydney.

I haven't bought any for 12 months tho.

      • I still use Diamond Age from New Zealand. best in the world, but freight is a killer.

  • What kind fo work do you do with your printer to need a pallet of filament. I'm stuck printing novelty objects and wouldn't have used more than 5kg in a year…

    • +1

I was doing rapid prototyping for a personal project, was using more than 5kg a week!

      • reckon I'd have to print solidly around the clock to get anywehre near 5kg/week.

Pity its 3mm; had it been 1.75mm I'd have jumped in
