Dell's S2716DG available for a pretty great price from Warehouse1 - cheapest price with ebay 20% deals has been $799.80 delivered.
It's been copping a bit of flack for being a TN panel, but with the right calibration settings it's a real winner.

Definitely a great deal! although for those with nvidia cards g-sync tech is always quite pricey annoyingly
Or Acer Predator XB1 XB271HU for $862, IPS and G-Sync http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/331314565009
So an extra $100 for an IPS panel, think the Predator is worth it over this?
Personally if I was going to spend this much on a monitor yes I'd spend the extra for IPS
That monitor is what i am hoping to get, don't see the 20% discount though.
[edit] oh, and it is out of stock :P~
It is indeed, there is still the AOC version http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/232035713794
Which discount code for ebay do you mean?
It was the CATCH20 one but it's expired now
I can't find the 20% discount code you're referring to either.
Anyone compared 24" vs 27" for 1440p screens? I'm either getting this or the 24" version when it next goes on sale but don't know which.
27". Unless you sit super close to your screen
How close is super close? My eyes are roughly 3 feet from the screen
Definitely the 27" then. A lot of professional competitive gamers who play FPS sit literally inches from the screen.
@spaghettiman:
I suppose theu do that in hope to reduce lag, so that the light doesn't have so far to travel to reach their eyes.
I sit 60cm from a 25", which is the same as 65cm from a 27" - ie bugger all difference.
Equiv to 3' from a 37". Three feet is a long way.
Save $2 if you pick up from docklands XD
Im not a fan of the strong anti-glare coating on these Dell monitors. It makes everything look grainy. Personal preference.
Worst screen I have owner got rid of it a week later
Hate TN panels
oh thanks for voicing your opinion! it's most valued
So expensive for a TN panel…. :\
Just canceled my order for this. had to contact them 3 times to figure out an ETA. They finally emailed me today saying these wont be available until the 14/3. Probs would have been fine with that if they had not given me the run around. Reading some comments on other forums they seem unreliable and in some cases kind of dodgy (edit: warehouse1, not the displays themselves). avoid imo.
You can get a Asus MG279Q 27" 1440p, 144hz IPS panel with Free Sync support for $929 - 20% = $743 dollars from eBAy using discount code, with free delivery plus a 1.35 percent cashback with CR.

The ASUS is a better option if you don't have Nvidia's proprietary GSync with your Radeon GPU, or if you prefer IPS in general.
