Apple just released a software bundle that includes all of their Pro software.
Bundle Includes:
Final Cut Pro X ($499)
Logic Pro X ($319)

  • I am want to ask, which subjects and courses are likely to use this software? Or has Apple, more likely, forgotten who its 'Education' market is?

      media, film and television??

      You wanna dob them in?

      • Nothing about robbing anyone in; but I would have imagined that those (TAFE) courses would provide software, or have a required set for students to buy. And, normally, no-one spends more on software for a course than for the whole course.

        • yeah if you do it at TAFE they have computers to use, especially for short courses. However doing short courses I assume wouldn't get you a student discount. Despite that a course is more than the software even when just for two days

    • Doesn't matter, these are just pro apps joins "education discount"

Does anyone know how Apple verify your student identity? I don't see anything required during check out.

    • I was wondering the same. I purchased it and they didn't ask for anything straight off. I'm expecting an email on Monday.

I recently purchased a new MBP. I was completely upfront and told him I was interested in education pricing even though I planned to use it in my business. I told the guy that my partner ran the P&F program at my kids' school. I was told that this was allowed. He didn't ask for any proof, the order and invoice were even in my name so I could expense it all. He just put "partner runs committee at [school]" in the notes field and told me that around 1 in 500 education orders are spot checked to ensure compliance. Apparently it is too expensive to verify all the orders.

I purchased an iMac with education pricing. My wife is a teacher so I thought I'd have to provide her work email or some other proof. But nope, checkout was as if I was buying it normally.

  • Great prices.
Final Cut Pro shits on Adobe Premier for MacOS, so this price makes it a no brainer

  • Is anyone able to confirm if you can use itunes vouchers to purchase this or put money towards this deal or just logic pro x?

    • You cannot use iTunes cards to buy this particular bundle as it it on the Apple Store, not the iTunes/Mac App Store. What I meant with the iTunes cards was that if you were only after Logic Pro X, it would be cheaper to buy it standalone directly from the Mac App Store using discounted iTunes gift cards.
