Wow so cheap for a 4star!
good timing. I was going to buy this exact same one 2moro. THanks!
You are welcome:)
Thanks OP. I want to update my 15 year old Panasonic and this one was on my radar. Decision made. :)
I'm wondering if extended warranty is available.
Got this last year (for more dollars), but suited my size needs.
Only problem was it doesn't cool to specified temperature. Reported it, they replaced with new, and it did same thing so seems to be design fault. Living with it, but disappointed in that aspect. Probably explains why the star rating though…
I have a feeling many fridges don't but most people don't stick a thermometer inside the fridge. For many devices incl aircons the setting should be used relatively. I set my Daiken ducted aircon to 27 if i want a comfortable 23 in the house.
With traditional fridges with 1-7 settings, that's fine. As this fridge says the actual temperature setting it should meet that. Also, the issue is that it is hotter than specified, which is a food safety issue.
Also for food storage and safety requirements, they need to meet specified temperatures otherwise people can get sick. If you set it to 5 degrees, and you're actually getting 8 degrees - that's a problem.
NOT recommended. We own one.
The size of the freezer is useless, partly because that's where the motor is. There is virtually no space in it whatsoever. As a family of two with a partner who cooks fresh food a lot (ie: we always eat fresh stuff, so there's only a weeks worth of meat and some pastry/pizza in the freezer), if we find it small, surely everybody else has to.
From my experience, most bottom mount have relatively smaller freezer compare to top mount.
Side by side ones may suits your need for bigger freezer.
I did a lot of searching and unfortunately the freezer size in this overall size and design is what it is. You won't find a bottom mount fridge of this size with a larger freezer.
My older model did have a better freezer/fridge ratio, but that's just not available now.
Exactly. It's not unusually small. It's just a characteristic of bottom mount freezers to have slightly smaller space than a similar overall capacity top mount. It's a trade-off and a choice you make. Nothing as dramatic as 'justoreply' made it out to be anyway :)
Free delivery? Where does it say that?
Order online, got SMS this morning for delivery.

Thanks you saved me $65. I was literally at the store when you posted the response and had no idea online delivery was free. The store delivery was certainly not free as they told me their delivery service is far better than the online store (probably just sales talk anyway) but managed to waive it with a little coercing. I basically told I have zero reason to buy at the store if I can get the same thing for free online. Anyway they agreed and delivery scheduled for next week. It looks good at face value so I hope it's reliable.
Got the fridge yesterday. Very happy so far. Looks good and very quiet. Only gripe is that the 'winerack' is only for wine. My water and/or slim soft drink bottles don't fit. Wish they'd made it a little more multifunctional. No big deal though.
That's good!
Wont be home this week, so arranged delivery next week. Hope mine will come in one piece.
Did you consider extended warranty? Could not find anything from JB website. Might need to give them a call.
Don't worry, the packaging is very good so very unlikely to get damaged. On the flipside, taking it off the styrofoam base was a bit fiddly without a trolley.
I never considered EW (I just have a personal objection) BUT yes this was something that was offered to me when I bought it in store so it should be available. YMMV but typically EWs are better negotiated in store during a purchase as the markups are high and you can squeeze them a fair bit to make the sale.
Tip: may be it was just mine but the adjustment leg (on the left) was very tight and not something you could adjust by a screwdriver (as per instructions) without really damaging it. I used a vise grip plyer to loosen it a bit and from then on a screwdriver did the trick.
Also anyone in Melbourne who wants to get rid of their old fridge - The BSL collects it for FREE and it's a good cause. http://stores.bsl.org.au/our-range/fridges-whitegoods/
Mine finally arrived yesterday and I was very impressed with the delivery guys. They installed and leveled it for me and they also found the left adjuster to be tight. I like it so far and the only thing I can complain about is that the bottom freezer drawer doesn't pull out far enough.
@wombat1955: mine came today. They just left it in my kitchen…
I unpacked everything myself.
And yes freezer is small, but I can live with it.
Price is now $1092 and limited availability. I ordered mine on Saturday and it is still showing as "in progress". The only locations showing stock are Dubbo, Perth and Berrimah, so I hope they are still going to supply it.
Really good fridge. Bought one of these last year.
