Original Xiaomi Mi Plant Flowers Tester Light Monitor

Someone picked random words from a dictionary to come up with the product name ???

    • I'm looking for a vulpine sporran interlaced boil-in-the-bag circus gland.

  • +1

so what does this actually do?

    • +2

      Parrot Flower Power clone.

      • +4

Like the description, I recognise the words, but just not in the order presented.

My guess is that it's a test version of a device that monitors the light emitted from an original chinaman who plants flowers..

  • $14.33 gimmick?

  • +6

It was the same price 3 weeks ago

It is impossible to determine from the website what it actually does.

Don't think I'm ready for the Internet Of Plants.

    • I have one of these and the flower power.

They are both shit products but the parrot flower power is slightly less shit.

It measures light, temperature, soil nutrients & moisture.

      • I guess the Xiaomi version is like 1/6 of the price…
Is the Xiaomi app in English?

        • +1

I would say its 95% English. If the app improves in the future it could be a really good product.

        • @daveaus: Thanks. Does it give you recommendations (like more water etc) like the Parrot one?

        • @elitistphoenix: Yes it does, but I have found you need to open the app manually to the get it to sync. The parrot seems to sync automatically and previously gave notifications (since the new version its stopped giving the notification) if I need to water. I haven't seen a notification from the Xiaomi app.

        • @daveaus: Cool. Thanks. Might wait till a couple more of my FPs die and then try this. Parrot management and support is useless.

        • @elitistphoenix: Do you get notifications from your FP since the last update?

Also if you haven't already checkout this free third party FP app. It doesn't give historical info but I find it a lot faster & more reliable for getting current info: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.cloudffm.fl…

        • @daveaus: I couldn't say. I turned them off a while ago and don't even have the app installed on my main phone. I had one of my Raspberry Pi reading in the data and then I'd check the web interface but Parrot stuffed both of these with the new App and V2 api. Now I have to open the app on my old phone and check the history on their crappy app. They're truly useless.
Thanks for the app suggestions. I'll try it soon.

        • @elitistphoenix: Can you link me what you where using to get the data on a Pi? I have a Pi as well, I'd like to bookmark it and keep an eye on it in case they get it working again.

Geez, maybe just use your brain, I dunno. Need an app to sleep, breath, blink. Spend the moula on a parsley plant, if it's in direct sun water it 4+ times a week?

  • Again …
