These aren't as good soundwise, or NC as the MDR-1000X. Much cheaper though.

No surprises there as the MDR-1000X are $700 on the Sony website.

That's like saying your average people mover isn't as fast as a hot hatch.

1000X is their flagship device. It's pricier (when not on special) than the Bose QC35.

These can be had for $200 through the ebay sale right now, so it's less than 1c per point.

The 9k + cash is definitely the better deal, values the 14k points at $110 (which is 0.76c per point, vs 0.66 the standard for straight gift cards) but the remaining 9k at $90 or so, which is good if you've got points to burn and no flights in the near future.

That said, sony store has seconds MDRZX770BN for $130 on ebay (plus the usual 1%ish cash back). So that's probably the best bet, always had good luck with Sony seconds myself.

    • Got a link to the Headphones on Ebay?

      Couldn't see any on Ebay.

Excellent headphones, very durable with reasonably good sound quality. Comfortable enough to wear for a couple of hours on end and great connection quality. Recommended for price.

Very happy with these headphones, so much so that I picked up a second set when I lost the first. Sound quality is pretty good, and noise cancelling is reasonable, but not as good as some more expensive headphones.

  • Good deal on the MDR-100ABN as well @ 44,530 points or 17812 + $205.73
