As far as I can tell this is only for university students who can be verified by Unidays.
This gift card is in addition to the education discounts. I find that this makes it comparable to the 10% off Macs from JB Hi-Fi but the real discounts are when you want to Build to Order as these machines are excluded from the JB Hi-Fi sales.
I find that going through Student Edge or Unidays yields slightly better discounts than going through Apple's Education store directly.
