City Discount Tyres: Buy 3 Get 1 Free on Falken ZIEX ZE914 Ecorun Tyres

30

Not a whole lot of deals around for car tyres this month. Bob Jane has $100 cashback on selected tyres, and Tyrepower have BOGOF on dodgy Maxxis'. The Falkens seem like a winner though going by the reviews. Got quoted $159 each ($477 for four) for 215/55/17 which is pretty cheap for my size as well.

The ZIEX ZE914 ECORUN is the next generation, high-performance tyre made for Australian roads. Engineered for performance and cost saving fuel efficiency, the low rolling resistance compound offers more mileage and better wet braking. The tyre features an asymmetric tread pattern with four straight and wide circumferential grooves for hydroplane resistance. The high-rigidity rib construction provides good wet and dry braking stability. Slots and sipes can be found throughout the tyre, optimised for even tread wear, comfort and traction.

Key Features
Optimised Asymmetric Tread - Ensures an even footprint for longer tread life.
Ecorun Compound - Low rolling resistance with better wet braking.
Natural Radius Carcass Profile - Improved handling and comfort.
Shoulder Rib Rigidity - Large shoulder blocks for improved cornering.
Performance Category: Touring

  • Thanks OP.
Is that price including fitting and balancing?

    • Fitting and balancing yet, not wheel alignment

  • Need new tyres… Are these any good though? Don't want to be driving around in slippery tyres!

    • I had these Falken. Very bad grip. After I had minor accident due to tyres I decided to replace them even though its had so many kms to go.I jumped when amex got an offer with bob jane on December.

But YMMV, new batch maybe improved version.

I haven't checked these prices, but I can confidently say that these tyre "buy 3 get one free deals" never work out cheaper than simply shopping around for 4 tyres.

I've yet to see one anyway.

I've got 225/55/18 ZE912's on my Outlander. Par for the course. I use for a mix of towing, sand, highway. Wear isn't amazing, but not shocking, not super quite, but not loud either. Side walls have been good and they wore even. I got mine off Gumtree for $50 each. Probably value them in the $150 range for a new tyre.

    • What about grip? Particularly in the wet etc.

      • Never slipped or aqua planed. Driven in solid down pours on the highway. As for performance grip, darting around when wet, sorry couldn't tell you, I'm a bit of a driving miss daisy in the back streets.

  • i am looking for 4 tyres for my Honda accord euro.. 225/50/17 quoted for continental with bob jane for $576 after cash back.. not sure if continental tyres are worth getting?

    • I got the conti contact mc5 shit tyres…I'm looking to changing over to the sport contract 2, but fingers cross that bridgestone will have another sale. I want the re003

  • they have a rotating 4 for 3 deals every 2 weeks from memory. Mid last month it was 3x sumitomos get 1x free
