I found this in the current catalog. it says half price with 7 gigs of data plus 5 gigs on first recharge plus 2 gigs of standard data. I have not verified it as i have not activated mine yet but it looks like you get 14 gigs of data if you recharge and 7 gigs if you just use what is on the card.

There was a band called 1023MB. They couldn't get a gig.
Storage manufacturers must love them. They think 954 MB is good enough.
Omg terrible dad joke. +1
So the SIM costs $10 for 7GB. How much does the recharge that gives you 7GB cost?
See below. I don't think it includes 7GB for $10.
Yes you get 2+5GB when activating the SIM (the 5GB bonus data takes up to an hour or so to be applied)
28 Days expiry
I think the OP is double counting: $20 SIM (currently $10) includes 2GB.
"Bonus data: New customers who activate onto Coles Prepaid AND recharge $20+ by 07/02/2017 will receive bonus 5GB data inclusion on their first recharge only."Thus the minimum cost to obtain 7GB is currently $30.
Hmmm the marketing on the Coles web site is not making this very clear. https://www.coles.com.au/our-range/our-products/coles-mobile
Shows headline figure of $20 = 7GB with fine print about 5GB bonus data.
I think the marketing of this offer could be a breach of the Australian Consumer Law.
Bonus data: New customers who activate onto Coles Prepaid
Check too that this still works if porting from Optus. (I think) there was something recently in Forums on a deal that excluded current Optus customer as Coles = Optus network so they deemed that as not to be a 'new' customer?
for $10 you are buying a….."$20 SIM Starter Kit: Includes $20 recharge. "
to repeat, INCLUDES…RECHARGE
The $20 SIM starter pack constitutes a $20 recharge. So for $10 outlay, you will get 7GB if you activate by 07/02/17.
A Starter pack is not a recharge and this is what is leading to the confusion. Telstra certainly don't consider a starter pack to be a recharge. They are quite different.
I understood the starter pack as being a preloaded recharge on a SIM, so technically the 7GB won't be available unless you activate and recharge by Tuesday ?
I think OP is double counting. Normally you get 2GB for $20. In this deal you get 2GB for $10, plus a bonus 5GB if activated and recharged by Tues 7th. The package comprises a SIM and the first automatic recharge, so it's 7GB, not 14GB, for $10.
Just to add my two cents. I just bought and activated the Coles $20 SIM starter kit (that is currently available for $10) and got 7GB of data. The 5GB bonus data did take around an hour to apply but got a separate SMS to confirm it had been applied as a one-off bonus.
There is NO NEED to recharge separately again to get the 5GB bonus data. There is a lot of confusion here for this excellent data deal, probably the best right now and it doesn't matte if it's 7 gigs or 14 gigs you won't find better than that for $10 as of this tine of writing.
Lets just sort this out right now by uploading all the facts….. I have uploaded the actual product you will buy and the actual promotion in the catalogue. It seems Coles has also made it misleading by not making it clear in the promotion text. Just be sure to get this activated by Tuesday as the OP has detailed. That is the expiry date for this promotion. So disputing the date is pointless, this promotion was clearly made to end on Tuesday if anyone bothered to read the description.
