Lebara 30-Day 10GB Prepaid Starter SIM $8 Delivered (Ongoing $19.90/Month) - Bonus 5GB Data for First 3 Months @ Lebara

120

If you don't mind hopping around SIM cards (2 hours of your time every time you port numbers), this is the cheapest offer I found around the Christmas/NYE period.

You only need to activate it by 31/03/2025, so if you have another intro offer you like for a different telco, you can combine/chain them.

As it stands of today (2025/01/03), the next best offer is with Felix Mobile ($12.50/Month for 25GB, First 3 Months, 1.5mbps data excess so effectively unlimited).

Happy deal hunting!

Why is everything so damned expensive?

  • Ported to telstra $2 sim on new years eve and port completed in 5 min

Porting into Lebara is painful if you have been with them before.

Last month porting in to Lebara took around 8 days, had to raise a complaint to the Telecom Ombudsment to get it sorted

        • Highly recommended then ⁉️😅

          • @Murkymerv: Depends where you're porting from. Been sim slutting monthly since the 3G shutdown & always port to a different network which eliminates a lot of issues. Takes 10 to 15 minutes each time, winning.

    • Just took me a bit over 2 hours, Lebara to Circles

    • Yep never had an issue with porting to Lebara. Occasionally if I do it outside business hours or on a Sunday I won't go through til the next morning.

    • Does the $2 Telstra sim requires any extra purchase to activate?

I did one via customer care last month and no recharge was required

      • +1

No, but sometimes the website will have random errors and force you to call/download the app for live chat.

They can try to imply that you must purchase some plan/recharge as part of the process, just be firm and say you'll port in first and select a plan later.

    • Port IN &/or OUT waste too much time monthly & will have hurdles with TelcoS. Consider parking your MAIN # with Amaysim: $10/$12 discounted-price for $30/$35 credit, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/16008184/redir

Frugal OzBargainers can TRY to stretch it for 3 years with 3 rounds of buying $10 plans, with $30+ credit 🤔.

This imply your churn-sim (2nd mobile #) is where you use your monthly data, calls & sms. Likely worth it only when you have 50Gb+ monthly DATA-need & NO-NBN for home internet.

Activate the $12 sim from Amaysim, choose the PAYG option, not the 28 days option
Download their app and change the plan to $30/90 days
you get unlimited talk and text but only 4GB of data over 90 days.
So it depends what you need.
