    here we go again……
    begrudgingly pulls out credit card

    • +1

u mean the + votes before the deal starts?

Im gonna hold my vote until then….

        • And you'll be one of the first to complain of price jacking and can't neg the deal

        • -6

@seijai: Because I haven't voted yet, i'm not sure of your logic, and I don't complain about price jacking on ebay deals.
Use your vote wisely seijai, the world cares how you feel about a possible ebay deal ;)

  • +2

If this means a megaboom for ~$200, I'm in.

    • +1

Looks like it should be $199 (if they don't jack it :))

      • +1

There are so many better options on the market now.

        • +4

          I'd love a few suggestions

        • +6

@flashi007: but that ruins the simplicity of his post

        • @flashi007: Guys, n gals, don't bite my head off, but I saw a speaker at Kmart that was cheap and liked the look of, would they be any good do you think or would something like this UE thing be better and I spend another 6 months saving up? Any suggestions?

        • +1

@Jawanzar: I can comment on the UE boom. I have the original and it is excellent. Personally I think it even shades the bose mini cordless thing.

        • +2

          @Jawanzar:

          Save up for the UE.

        • +2

Yeah go for the JBL Charge 3 I reckon. It has better reviews and better value on average compared to the UE Boom when talking about the latest versions of both.

        • +1

@Stix: unless you actually need 6 months to save up for it, then maybe you don't need it THAT bad.

        • +2

@Jawanzar: thanks for all the replies :) I'll take the advice and save up the Ol' pennies, also gives me more time to think about what suits.

RE; Rick Sanchez; you're spot on, I certainly don't need it. But, I'm happy to save and if that takes longer, well meh, that's just the way it goes.

        • +3

          @Jawanzar:

In an age of convenience and instant gratification, your comment is a good reminder that we need to learn patience! Nice work. :)

        • +2

@flashi007: Apparently the jbl charge line sounds better (especially in the bass department) but not as loud and are also cheaper from the looks of it. They also double up as a powerbank.

Either that, or the jbl xtreme would be my recommendation. It is so much better than those two in every way, especially if you decide to use it outdoors for a party, bbq or something

        • How portable does it need to be? Ultimately the prices rise sharply the more portable you need the speaker system to be. Not so portable, you can pick up a half OK mini hifi for the same price. Super portable? You're paying $300 for a gorilla beating a wet cardboard box

      • $249 now

        • +1

          It's always been $249, 249 - 20% = $199

    • +3

      JBL Xtreme destroys the megaboom.

      • True true, that little monster blows away megaboom with ease

  • +3

    Good prices on some drones.

    DJI - Phantom 3 Standard $551

    DJI - Phantom 4 $1359

    Yuneec - Typhoon H 4K $1199

    • +1

This is for spying on pesky neighbours right?

      • +2

It's for spotting white pointers at the beach.

        • +5

I'm not familiar with the term white pointers. KKK?

        • @twig: white pointer. As in white pointer sharks.

          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oceanic_whitetip_shark

        • Any other cool use case scenarios? Besides say tv docos or film making? Never thought about that white pointer one, that's safe and smart.

        • +1

If you going to use a drone over the water get the Typhoon H as it can still fly even if it loses an engine. If you have a DJI your stuffed.

        • +6

          He meant tits.

        • @2jzzzz:

Bingo. I'm pleased with the more mature interpretation though. Well done ozb.

        • @AlienC: The Surf Club on the Far North Coast of NSW are currently using them to check for sharks.

        • @Major Mess: what about beached whales aka future liposuction candidates?

  • +6

Awaiting price increases and the mocking that goes with it

  • +1

Being in WA, any BL deals are obsolete to us.

    • +5

Why? Nothing to stop you having things sent to your doorstep.

      • They ship small appliances. I'm in the market for a Dyson fan, which they don't ship to WA. Bah.

        • Not quite true - while unfortunately regional areas in WA lose out metro Perth is fine.

        • @gadget: Ah, this is really interesting now. It seems that every fan, except for the fan I want, ships to Metropolitan Perth.

The one exclusion is the Pure Cool Link. Perhaps there is a size or weight restriction that this fan exceeds.

        • @ViciousPotato:

Looks like that range is in store only. It does not seem like a weight thing as the larger pedestal fan can be shipped.

        • @gadget: Ahhh!

        • +1

I'm in the market for a Dyson fan, which they don't ship to WA. Bah.

You are dodging a bullet. Those fans are absolutely crap.

      • +4

He said obsolete, not irrelevant. He's a droid. From the future.

    • They ship some items. I have been waiting for them to re-stock the Sandisk Portable SSD and have 20% off.

  • +1

    Dyson is cheap

    • Which ones? I want one with a motorised head.

      • +2

Full size barrel (most powerful) the Best Buy is the Big Ball Animal - comes with a turbine head and plenty of accessories.
        http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Dyson-Cinetic-Big-Ball-Animal-B…

RRP is $899 down to $749 currently so right on $600 with 20% off. Easily the cheapest anywhere, possibly worldwide.

        • Their listings don't show the included accessories. Big jump up from the origin to the animal in price. Is there only a difference in the accessories?

        • @ricodbn:
You get a turbine head (spinning brush head which is a huge improvement), no filter needed in the animal, and a couple of extra accessories too (tangle free turbine, and swivel hard floor tool).

        • @rekabkram: Thanks. Just checked them all out. The Pro has the reach tool and the soft dust brush which together retail $110 and on this offer would add $80 to the machine. Don't think I would have use for them. Tempted to go the cordless route but don't have the confidence in the battery and suction power for a 4 bed house. Seems like the animal is the way to go. I see though that Myer has a deal on the Allergy which includes the above two tools but price is $799.

        • +1

          @ricodbn:
The Allergy is normally $100 cheaper than the Animal and has the basic tools, plus a mattress tool. Animal is $150 off at the moment on top of the 20% saving which is why I'd recommend that one.

The cordless is good but it doesn't replace a full sized vacuum completely.

      • +6

        Grab a Miele instead. :)

        • does miele have a bagless version?

        • @wongaubargins:

          I don't believe so.

        • -1

          @wongaubargins:

I hated the Miele vacuum. Stupid bags that are expensive and has to be Miele brand.

        • +1

          @nicolemao:
Actually, Bunnings sell third party bags that work perfectly in Mieles. Source: I have one. No problems.

        • @caitsith01: There wasn't one near me…

      • +1

I read it as 'moisturised' and thought wtf

        • No that's the actual cleaner.

    • +4

      Miele is better

  • +1

hopefully no price jacking on appliances.

    • +10

its not a ebay sale without price jacking

      • +1

They just jacked up the price this morning. A fridge was $1599 last night become $1699.

        • now its a eBay sale

        • Yeah I noticed. And they removed some fridges. Scummy.

  • +1

Logitech Z623 looks good if they don't jack up the price.

    • I doubt they will ever have the $79 deal again.
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/200300

      • Interesting to know that the price was this low then. I bought this for 104.80 delivered when they had their last 20% off sales and thought it's the cheapest. But nooo

      • This deal is the exact reason I won't buy these speakers until they drop below $85 again because the second I pull the trigger, surprise, it's $79 again.

    • 200 rms watts is a lot of electricity isn't it?

      • +1

You could use headphones and for 1 watt you would get plenty of volume. That would save you 1 kWh worth $0.35 for five hours of pumping the music.

      • No it's the ability of the system to deliver enough output power to give you clean (ie low distortion) sound on loud musical passages or when you crank it up, not the actual power consumed.

        • Does it state the power consumption anywhere? can't seem to find it.

        • +2

          @bargainist:

Does it state the power consumption anywhere? can't seem to find it.

Nobody can tell you the power consumption because it VARIES depending of the type of music and how loud you play it.

Furthermore, nobody cares. The power used is not relevant compared to all the other powered devices in your home. If you want to save 100% of electrical energy, hum to yourself.

        • @llama:

          Salty llama…

        • -4

@llama: Don't get butthurt. I never asked whether it's relevant to you.

      • Yes if your amp is running in pure class A. No if it isn't.

    • Can confirm that they didn't jack up the price for This in their last two 20% off sales. Bought from both sales for 104.80 delivered.

Bagged and tagged, anyone have suggestions for items to keep an eye on?

    • +3

Can always use Google Cache after the sale begins :)

      • +2

Yeah well, everyone complains about these stores but never hold them accountable. At least with screenshots it should be super easy to drop a line to the ACCC.

      • +2

How do you use Google cache?

        • +2

Normally, search for a website and click on the small triangle > cached.

          Or use http://cachedview.com.

      • -8

        What is Google Cash?
Is it another payment method invented by Google?

        • Cache not cash.

        • @TheClipIt:
Oops.. My original question was meant to be
          What is Google "Cash"? :P

    • can you add UX360UA-C4145T (Asus laptop) to your list for me. Thanks M.

  • Provided there's no price jacking, and there's stock, the LG OLED65B6T at $4k is a decent shout.

    • Pretty sure that Tv won't be in the eBay store. I am waiting for a deal on this tv as well.

      • I saw it in the store when this deal was first announced. It said low stock though so conveniently must have sold out before the deal went live.

  • I can't find any 144hz monitor.. is there any that you guys know of? Or any other good deals on monitor? I have just started looking don't have much info now..

    • +1

There's cheap Korean IPS ones. Catleap, Qnix, Overlord, can overclock to 120 hz.
