This thread serves to let everyone know how much you have saved on your 7/11 fuel app.

Step 1: Subscribe to this thread to get email updates. You can change your subscription settings in your Ozbargain account to enable more/less email updates.

Step 2: Upon filling up simply fill in the details in this format:

  • NAME OF 7/11 STORE
  • PETROL TYPE
  • PETROL PRICE

Example:

  • Richlands QLD
  • ULP
  • 111.9/litre

There are two "tricks" that can be extremely beneficial as there is a common trend experienced by 7-Eleven App users: 1) If you receive an error processing your credit/debit card, you can purchase a 7-Eleven Gift Card in-store and apply the credits instantly onto the App. 2) You do not need to use the funds on your App to pay for the fuel, you can lock-in the price and pay via Cash or Card at the checkout saving the hassle of constantly topping up, gift cards, etc.

                      @mech81: i did this method to get it working flawlessly on my macbook pro

                      install oracle VM virtualBox
                      go into Applications>nox>show package contents> contents> macos> data > system> nox.ova and press import

                      Then highlight the imported file and press settings
                      change your base memory to 2000mb +
                      then under display make sure you tick enable 3D acceleration.

                      Then just close virtual box and nox should start normally

    Does anyone have any issues with phone GPS not working properly after you started using Mocklation? I had issues with Google Maps and sent my phone in for repairs, after it came back, it started happening again. I finally figured out that it was the Mock location setting causing the issue. I tried locking and unlocking the fake location, unsetting developer options, even uninstalled the app. So now, everytime after I lock in my fake location using Mocklation, I have to restart my phone for my GPS to work properly again. I guess this is more of a FYI in case anyone is experiencing issues.

      YES!!!!

      I knew something weird was going on with my phone. I tried using Google maps last night to do some navigation, and it kept saying "searching for GPS" and it wouldn't give me navigation instructions. It would find my location ok when i launched it, but when i tried to start a navigation, it would come up with that message, and my location would update very slowly, and not as accurate as it should be. I even tried Here maps but got same issue.

      No other app that needs location seems to be affected, but they are probably getting location from towers not GPS at the moment. I have tried turning off the mock location option in settings but didn't get a difference.

      So very strange.

      Another confirmation from me that this happens after switching to mocklocation. Never happened with fake GPS.

    Anyone else unable to lock in currently via Android, mocklocation and modified apk?

    Worked earlier today but currently drops back after selecting number of litres without locking in.
    Also happening on friends phone in same way

      That happens to me on a regular basis. I then have to switch to a PC to lock in. It seems to always do it when I want to lock it in at one of those super low prices.

      ended up doing a reinstall of apk, location app and phone restart and its working again
      strange that it happened on both mine and a friends device on the same day

    Is anybody else having the issue with nox where the map is saying that there are issues? I'm getting around it by manually putting in lat/long but it'd be good to fix it up. Tried reinstalling nox, new instance etc.

      that is pretty common, it's apparently because the developers of NOX don't pay Google for the use of the maps, and it hits it's free limit pretty quick.

    on s5 phone i get error and cant log in so i guess the 7 11 app is no longer good. can OS on S5 be updated to make it to work? anyway ended up getting diesel for only 137.9 a litre at 7/11 kingston qld 4114

    Parts of Sydney are still around $1.27 yet others are at $1.65 in the more north parts - Not sure if they're price gauging or Sydney prices are about to shoot up overnight.

        I'm a bit annoyed today. Usually we hit the bottom when most servos reach the TGP and can't make a profit so they jack it up. But now they're jacking it up before they've hit the bottom.

      I was wondering why there was so much thread activity given prices were steady with no big price drop to warrant another deal. Then I happened to check local 98 prices and had to pick my jaw off the floor. Locked in immediately for 40c less

      Which version of Nox are you using? (the android emulator version)

    Filled up from Caltex today after a long time (7 eleven more expensive at the moment ). I think fuel in Caltex better than 7 eleven?better performance from engine and less noise while idle Personal opinion only.

      This won't last long. price error apparently. I physically filled up at the store just miunutes ago and the guy made me come in and pay before I had even finished pumping…Super dodgy

        But doesn't the attendant set the price, based on instruction from head office? If he thought it was an error, you'd think he would contact HO or fix the price himself. Very odd…

          Odd indeed. I just thought it was really weird that I hadn't even finished filling my and he asked me to hang up the pump and pay for my fuel so far. Then when I drove away the price for 98 was blank on the big sign.

    Anyone having issues with Google scripts not sending updates for the project eleven-7 page and instead sending errors in the email? Tried copying and pasting a new generated script to no avail.

    Error message is: TypeError: Cannot read property "1" from undefined. (line 56, file "Code")

      same here, tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it wont find my location with fake gps on. Last worked around 2-3 weeks ago.

      Update I removed FakeGPS and added Mocklation and it fixed it but too late for locking in price :(

    having some problems here, when i use the fake app the 7-11 app keeps saying "We couldn't find your location. Please try again later" error message. but when I turn off the fake location it's able to run as normal. anyone can help?

      I fixed it by moving from FakeGPS to Mocklation as discussed above, what app are you using to mock your location?

          Yeah it seems like it's just an issue with the developer options, seems like if you change to a different mock location app, it works :) Just make sure the new app is selected in the developer options as the primary mock location app.

    I just saw Wanneroo in WA is the cheapest in 91. In WA, our cheapest day is Monday so maybe 91 will get cheaper tomorrow. I can check on fuelwatch at 6pm tonight as they show tomorrow's prices

    G'day everyone.

    A little update for my script that I have made. I've added a feature that (should) allow you to automatically lock in a fuel price by searching OzBargain's deals page for a new post containing the word "7-Eleven" and then trying to find it's location from the title. I'm sure there is a more elegant way to do it but it seems to work with the the deal that was posted earlier today and back on page 7 I think it is. And if it doesn't find a deal on the first page then it will search the ProjectThreeZero site for the cheapest Unleaded 98 price (hard coded for now).

    The price that that it should be below is set by you upon logging in you can click on "settings" and it will show up. It won't let you save anything below 0 and above 2, I set it to 1.39 because I think that's a somewhat decent price for premium 98 at the moment. Obviously you can change it as you wish!

    When you log in to the script it will save your device secret, access token (both used to make logged in requests), card balance and account_id (both used for locking in a fuel voucher) to a file called "autolock.ini". If you tick the box upon logging in that says "enable auto lock in" then it will enable the feature otherwise it will save your details for in case you want to enable it later. I wouldn't recommend logging out after saving a fuel price because I don't know if it can save a price if you do. But staying logged in should be safe in any case.

    I've also tried to clean up the app.py file a bit too by moving most of the functions to… "functions.py" - real clever name, huh?(!!!)

    Note: You will need to run the following in your command prompt or terminal before trying to run the script because of the new features I added.
