sports decent entry level graphics that will play modern DX11 games. The 512 MB actually has little to do with a cards performance

well said, the 5670 is very good budget performer, im using a quad with the 512mb variant and has no issue with any games.

"The 512 MB actually has little to do with a cards performance", well in that case you are wrong. A decent sized framebufer is reasonably important for any modern graphics card and 512MB is about minimum for a modern card.

Its definitely a good all round rig.

      • It can vary. In my experience and from what I have researched it seems that having a larger memory capacity for the graphics card is only really beneficial in higher resolution gaming. Given that the card is more mid range, I gather people who would game on this machine might use more milder settings and thus not require the higher capacity in VGA memory.

I don't know about you, but I'd rather a 5670 with 512MB of memory as opposed to say 5450 with 1GB.

the 512mb will be sufficient unless you intend to play games at a very high resolution… 1680x1050 should have no problems whatsoever… even 1920x1080 will a minimal frame rate drop (and only if you're playing a really graphics intensive game aka. crysis, bad company 2 etc)

  • I just went and bought the current Aldi special the Akoya P6310D but when I got it home it is wrong one.
They are substituting the E4360D instead.
    False advertising!
Which one is better E4360D released in March or the P6310D?
The AMD Athlon II X4 620 or the Intel Core I3? The ATI Radeon HD 5670 or NVIDIA GeForce GT 330?

  • Had to ask a manager to get it from the back. First one didn't work and had to go back and return, but replacement seems good to go. =)

Pity my monitor chose this opportune time to die so rather than share another, will have to wait until next week to use it properly..
