This has been confirmed working by myself and another ozbargainer (by pm) who also confirmed getting the $25 Gift card and a full refund of Amazon Prime ($99 USD) from this deal.

Amazon Prime is fully refundable as long as you do NOT use any features of Amazon Prime.

If you cancel at any other time, we will refund your full membership fee only if you and your account did not make any eligible purchases or take advantage of Prime benefits since your latest Prime membership charge

For the purpose of this promotion, i would recommend you create a new Amazon account & sign up to a paid Prime memebership via Topcashback link. Then sign out and wait for your $25 Gift Card. Then chat with amazon and cancel Prime and get your refund

Enjoy

Sorry, but is it completely legal to create a new Amazon account for this purpose?

    • -5

if it's in your dogs name, i cannot see why not

      • But then again my dog hasn't applied for a credit card yet

        • -5

can the dog use its daddy's credit card

        • @easternculture:

But his daddy is already on Amazon, which was why the daddy asked if it's legal to have two separate Amazon accounts.

          @kiokoshin:

Surely mum has a credit card?

      • +1

        LOL

    • I'm sure it is not illegal

  • Hi OP, Pls share Amazon Chat URL?

    • +2

i cancelled via this link https://www.amazon.com/gp/primecentral. I didn't have to chat with them

      • -1

        Did you get the voucher?

This has been confirmed working by myself and another ozbargainer (by pm) who also confirmed getting the $25 Gift card and a full refund of Amazon Prime ($99 USD)

  • The $25 GF card is sent by top cashback thru email code which can be redeemed by others?

  • +24

This is not a bargain, completely unethical.

  • Why do you need to create a new account?

    • For a free trial of Amazon prime. Not worth the trouble imo.

  • +29

Taking advantage of promotions like this deters promoters from offering such promotions to people who will actually use the service.

That and it causes a headache for customer service, how would you personally like to deal with this easternculture? Spare a thought for the people it really affects and stop being so selfish.

I really don't expect this negative feedback to be published long as Ozbargain doesn't like to have certain users having negative feedback. This is a scam, plain and simple.

    • -8

as Ozbargain doesn't like to have certain users having negative feedback

      See, now that wasn't necessary.

    • +4

You've probably seen how many of his 'deals' ended up in the forum because they were obvious code/price errors and didn't get honored - e.g. codes that changed the price of expensive items to $0
Waste of time both for the customers waiting for their refund and the store having to expend staff manpower to process all those refunds.

    • +7

      agree..

I have benefited from amazon for many years through regular deal, and promotions. One of the few great international retailers that ships to aus at great prices.

I rather support them through my wallet, than practice unethical behavior like this that in the end will have an effect of increased prices and reduction in these types of promotions for everyone.

love your deals easternculture, but this one I would say goes to far

    • Bit sensitive for revoking my neg, mods. Woah.

      What was written previously: "Agreed".

      This time:

Agreed - this is unethical and will undermine future promotions.

There mod's, how different is that to several other unrevoked neg's? Sensitive bunch today.

    • same as buying price error deal posted here….

simple, when it is posted, you don't buy!

      • -5

So true david. when someone posts a price error, everyone rushes to buy in hope that it will be honored or at least get a gift card as a gesture of good will.

  • +8

Highly unethical, same like taking up an Amex cashback offer, returning the item then expecting Amex not to retract the cashback.
Can't condone thousands of users wasting Amazon and topcashback's time/generosity.
Don't bite the hand that feeds you.
This is clearly a loophole, expect it to be closed soon and you won't get your 'free money'

  • +2

Good hack. But really belongs in the forums and isn't really a deal.

  • +7

Agreed, with everyone else, this is just being dishonest and is legitimately a scam.

  • +3

    It's not ethical

  • +6

    Negging. Only for the desperate.

  • +3

Negging, and agreeing with the others in that this is highly unethical, and only further discourages further promotions for legitimate users.

  • +9

    Dodgy, unethical.
Deals like this can give Ozbargain a bad reputation.
    It's a bargain hunting site, not scam-a-day.

    • +2

Beware you'll be negged as I was

      • +2

Ah luckily I have my shirt of immunity on today and am immune from caring. :)

  • +1

This is a scam not a deal, go away with your crappy 'bargains' EC.

  • +1

Sorry but yes, this is unethical.

  • EC, how long did it take to get the $25?

  • how did everyone go with this ?
