Thanks OP. Just picked one up

  • The main difference with ozito and ryobi are the internals. My ryobi drill is made in China but still uses a made in Japan engine and gearing and the batteries also. Makita is now doing the same. But comparing my ryobi drill to a Dewalt it feels cheap.

If you buy a 500 dollar tool or a 100 dollar tool are you going to notice if the difference if you only use it a few times?

    • I just a Ryobi cordless mower and was looking at getting some drills etc….but looking at the price of the skins compared to the ozito would I still be better off just getting the ozito stuff as well?….only for use around the house etc

      • If you already have the batteries probably better to go with the Ryobi the price isn't a hug difference.

If it makes you feel any better, comparing a new DeWalt to an old DeWalt it feels cheap.

  • In case anyone is on a budget a couple of years ago I bought a Mac Tools branded cheapy from Kmart for 48 bucks. Not sure if they still carry them but cheapest I have ever seen one. Used once to cut some reclaimed timber fencing, worked fine, still have both hands

  • I purchased this about a week ago at full price as I got a gift voucher for Chrissy and had a bit of work to do.
Do Bunnings have any sort of a policy for crediting the difference if purchased within say 1 month?
I know I can go buy another and then return with old receipt.

    • I don't think so, not in terms of what you're talking about.

I think what you've suggested is the most viable work around.

What's the difference in price, if you don't mind me being a sticky beak.?

      • $79 I paid, so is it worth the hassle for $20? and got the stand also at $69 which also extends and I thought was pretty good value for $150 all up.

        • Well that's the thing, I'm kind of leaning towards yes, if it were me, but then again I'm always at Bunnings so it wouldn't really be an out of the way exercise.

I'd struggle to find another mitre saw with a stand and a 3 year replacement warranty for $150. I agree, I think you did well.

Purchased at $59 this weekend. I think it's good value for what it is. Bought it to chop up tree branches (brush pile) and it does it pretty well. It's straightforward to put together (i recommend you do use the back and side stands)

You can never have too many drop saws when you are doing basic jobs. Particularly when you might want to setup for a mitre cut and another for a straight cut so you don't have to keep changing settings.

The saw actually cuts a lot straighter than my ryobi 18v one+ unit, which is depressing (the Ryobi was a lot more expensive..)

    • They all need to be adjusted to cut straight at some point - especially after changing blades. I'm sure the Ryobi will also have adjustment bolts.

  • Can anyone who bought or owns this saw confirm if the trigger adjusts the blade speed, or is it just on/off. I have an old GMC with a finicky safety guard, would like to replace it but hate that it is simply on/off - full power or nothing.

    • Full power or nothing.

      • thanks! will save up for a different one!
