and yeah, compare apples to apples, service warranty and support are typically better with a known brand.

umm check MSY, the Gigabyte actually retails for $437 there. If you want to go cheaper then you could get the Amazetech or Powercolor for $431

its an ok deal i do agree, but not enough for impulse buy, PCDIY has it for 461$ walk in, standard VGA wanrranty is 2 years, not bad if youre upgrading.

I was assisted by a friendly customer service staff who walked me through the entire process.
@qtvinsta: i called them up just now and found out my order hasn’t been processed yet. She says they got my order 13/7 and payment 14/7 and today is 20/7 and not processed. She said she’ll find out what’s going on and call me back… Hopefully this is an isolated incident… i should also mention that when i asked the question of whether i'll get the card by this weekend (24/7) she complained that i ask to many questions and threatened to not call me back. things that make you go hmmmm
@qtvinsta: okay, they have finally sent me an email confirming order has been processed. no phone call, but at least the order has now been processed… a week later and probably only after i called them. I thought i'd share my experience so others can benefit. Hopefully now i will get it by this weekend
@qtvinsta: called them up again and they reckon it'll be dispatched today. This is really poor delivery times.
@qtvinsta: They said they thought it'd be dispatched yesterday too, don't hold your breath too much.
EDIT: Dispatched and I have the courier tracking number! yay!

@qtvinsta: yeah, mine was delayed because I apparently wasn't following instructions on how to join cashdeal, when I was doing everything perfectly - their system wasn't working.
Good to see everything has worked out in the end though, will have to have a few games when the card arrives :D
Also, despite this saying no displayport, it definitely has one - all gigabyte 5870 cards have displayports (despite gigabytes website saying opposite, which all retailers copy)
@Gecko: received it. it has all the ports (dvi,dvi,dp,hdmi). what annoyed me was the fact they kept say 'this afternoon or tomorrow morning' just to get you off the phone… and not truly following up.
@qtvinsta: yeah, fair enough, i got well and truly sick of their excuses - even though it was better than most other companies i've deal with.

Really you are offering these prices to get a list of customers to onsell your goods, starting to be skeptical about these using ozbargain to build a datbase of customers from .
the reason why it's only subscribers it's because the deal like this it's very hard to get from our supplier. and sometimes it's we lose our profit to our customer, That's why we only give the deal to our customer.

@Mikinoz: I totally agree with you Mikinoz. If it's a subscribers only deal, than why is the rep posting it on OzBargain. If I subscribed to something expecting exclusive deals, I would be slightly annoyed if a rep from that company was sharing the deal with the general public. Seems very much like they're just trying to get our names on their books.

For the eyefinity one I'm pretty sure you need displayport but it would be good if the pm could confirm that.

I will definitely buy it if come out 2 days later, because I can claim gst back when I go oversea next month. Anyway it is a good bargain for someone looking for a decent card.

close, for gigabyte brand its cheapest but only by few bucks, and personally i dont care much about brands so i could find cheaper ones. but each to their own i guess.
