    thecrevis: lol.

yeah.. it could actually be dangerous.. giving a false sense of safety.

then.. so you go into microsleep and it gives you a nice calm vibration massage? lol
it really needs a fake hand attached to it that slaps you around the face and screams 'pull over mofo!!'

waaaaay before that device activates you should have pulled over for a 25min kip.
or at least wound the windows down, pumped some hard tunes and smacked down a few No Doz.

    • Many accidents occurred when the drivers involved had a micro-sleep (they had not been nodding off but had just shut their eyes for a few seconds) which is all it took for them to hit the bend or an oncoming vehicle.
Innocent lives are lost as a result.

This device which activates at 15-20 degrees angle will not work at all but worse still, may lure the wearers into a false sense of security.
For the sake of road safety, IMHO, it should be banned to save lives.

Cheap and nasty? I think not, try deadly.

Yeah seriously… Not only are you going to forget to put that in but who would honestly want that hanging off their head for a long car trip.

    • heya.. sorry bout -vote.. slipped trying to hit + =( oopsy!

    • your comment reads like this (the design of the device too…):
"Not only are you going to forget to put that in your butt…"

  • Not everyones head would nod down when they microsleep, just their eyes would close and this device wouldn't work. I don't think this device would be very useful at all but it is cheap.

There is a photo circulating of the web of this product in packaging that includes the text "suitable for drunk driving", or words to that effect. Anyone have a link or copy?

  • absurd gadget

  • I agree this gadget is silly to use for alerting drivers, but think of the possibilities:

    • Keeping you awake in lectures
    • Hiding it in someone's desk to annoy them
    • Use as a short timer alarm
    • Pretend like you have a hearing problem (especially useful in places like Phuket where you get hassled constantly)

I like how they included someone falling asleep during a WoW raid, sounds about right!!

    • Good suggestions. It would have been be a viable product if it had not been advertised as a 'Driver Fatigue Vibration Alert Device' but simply as an Anti-nod for the sleep-deprived.

Im not putting that piece of shit anywhere near my head whilst driving

  • Nap during driving is extremely dangerous, this little gadget just prevent you to fall sleep. It vibrates when you your head nods ahead, which awakes you up.

lol priceless! Let's give this deal moar upboats - for the lulz.

    • Yes but what if it malfunctions and starts vibrating and zapping my head like crazy whilst I am driving. Then I swerve off the road and mow down 20+ people at a ticker tape parade in a small town where they are throwing flowers and candy and their tractor driving champion.

Mowing down a ticker tape parade is not worth $2.95.

      • Sound like the script for a B-grade horror movie. Just needs zombies ;-)

I reckon if you sat on it it would keep you awake ;-)
