Having grown up with the original (and knowing full well StarBUCK was a man in that version) we'll have to disagree. A female character being called anything "buck" just makes no sense. Would rather they created an entirely different character than hijack the name and little else. But I had more issue with Baywatch babe Cylons anyway. Nothing against attractive women. Just didn't mesh with the original or make much sense. Of course they ruined the original anyway by making some of the plot, script and acting so painfully tacky with Galactica 1980.

I have this game but never played it. How hard is it to learn and how long does a game take to play?
Not too hard to learn but the game can take a while to finish

That doesn't seem too long. I've played games of Ticket to Ride that took longer than that!
Do all the players need a good /any knowledge of BSG to be able to play /have fun?
I would say it is more enjoyable if you knew the series. Ticket to ride may take long but with that and like catan etc I find you can talk and chat quite easily when it is not your turn, in this game because you don't know who is human or cylon you have to actively participate on every persons turn so it'd more mentally draining for a long game.
Edit: still think its a brilliant game worth playing. Also the sleeper agent rule means the game keeps you on your toes, can't win too heavily at the beginning just in case you switch sides in the middle of the game and end up on the losing side!
