Screwdrivers aren't bad for occasional use, plastic holder breaks quickly.

    • Yeah very well priced set

    • Exactly, this is a great kit. A better case will make it perfect.

    • +1

Mine still holding strong, but prefer if they have something that look less clumsy. Just need to be careful let the bits and screws falling out when opening.

    • I would go as far as to say the case is atrocious. Bits pop out extremely easily - we're talking every time that the case is not opened carefully. Screwdrivers pop out easily and the slots are not marked to put each one back into it's right place. Case itself is prone to breaking at the top hinge (I bought a faulty unit like this and swapped it already. It's clearly not a strong hinge).

I've gone back to my old set which are far less nice to handle/worse for torque just because I can't be bothered with the lousy case anymore.

      • +4

It's probably expected that you put these kind of tools in a toolbox or chest.

    • I concur. I have one of these sets ant the clear plastic holder on the top has broken

  • $19 seems like a fair price IMO. Are they insulated?

    • Going by the picture I'd say not

      • +2

no insulated, but a good set for the price, handyman quality.

    • +1

When Aldi have them insulated ones they are cheap and reasonable.

  • LOL what?!? went tom Bunnings website and they are doing a giveaway competition, it actually looks sketchy.

  • I paid $30 for this https://www.bunnings.com.au/stanley-20-piece-screwdriver-set…

At bunnings did I pay roo much?

    Thanks.

    • Thats the set I have - hasnt let me down - has done everything around the house. paid the same price

      • +1

different quality, classic set stanley have been selling since the queen took over.

        • +3

I have had a few of these over the years. They have progressively gotten worse until most recently they seem to be made out if some sort of cheese. The tips seems to just wear out so quickly.

If the set in the OP is worse than these then I would strongly suggest to look elsewhere.

        • +1

@sabaramo: you got these from a deli?

    • +9

      I don't know Scooby Doo.

  • +5

Im pretty sure these are always $19? I have seen these in Bunnings for $19 every time i go in there?

We are clutching at straws here trying to find the bargain replacment for our beloved eneloops.

  • Decent set, however the smaller drivers have a tendency to fall out of the packet when you want to get to the larger drivers underneath. The Phillips drivers have all kept their teeth without much gouging and I've used them a fair bit and they are a good range in size. Personally I'd prefer the gummy grips that you find on some of the more expensive sets but they're comfortable to use. If you do get it chuck the case and maybe try a cheap toiletries zip bag or pencil case to put it all in.

I recall this was $10 few months ago

Edit: By few months ago, I mean Nov 2015

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/221887

    • I found stock following that post and it was $19 not $10

      $10 was a particular store/pricematch if lucky

    • Not anymore since there's no more competition (Masters)

  • +4

    looks at photo
Toilet Suit for $25? Sounds convenient & disgusting

    • Use the screwdrivers only in dire situations.

  • Bought these from the previous deal, and honestly, I don't know why so many people like them.

The 'case' they come in WILL break quickly.

It appears only some are magnetically tipped - at least the set I bought only had a few that were magnetic.

The sizings were all wrong for me. The largest screwdriver is a slotted screw which I rarely use.

These also always seem to be $19.

    • The $30 case is MUCH better imo, all magnetic (havnt used small precision ones yet)

      • Yep, I have that and agree.

  • Not sure why this is a bargain, you can buy them for $19.95.

  • 3 x Phillips Screwdrivers: PH0x75mm, PH1x75mm, PH2x100mm

    I wish it were 40x PH2 instead. :)

    • +1

      You're lucky it's not 1 x PH2 and 39 cable ties.

  • I was about to say, I can't see it being a 40 Piece Screwdriver Set .

The below shouldn't be counted as screwdrivers.
    4 x Slotted Bits: 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm
    7 x Torx Bits: T10, T15, T20, T25, T27, T30, T40
    4 x Phillips Bits: PH0, PH1, PH2, PH3
    7 x Hex Bits: 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 5.5mm, 6mm

They'll disappear into the bottom of the toolbox to be lost when you actually need them (particularly without a proper case).
