  • Price in title please. What is the normal price?

    • Claims $239.95 is normal price. Wish other sizes were on sale

    If you can wait for delivery {mine came in 3 days), you can't beat these guys. 2.5X2.5 with a wall - $154 delivered https://www.4wdsupacentre.com.au/products/awnings/adventure-…

    • Considering $54 more - both the OPs and your options are good :)

    • Just the awning is $109 including delivery:
      https://www.4wdsupacentre.com.au/products/awnings/adventure-…

      When they change the prices tomorrow (they do every day) and have it without delivery it will be under $100 as long as you can pickup.

      • There's a lot of this 'Kings' crap on 4wd's now.

        The stuff is ok for a certain price, but really, spend the money and get something better quality.

        The 'illuminator' lights are terrible, yet so many 4wd's have them.

          Like those titan draws,people praise them like they are the second coming of jesus yet they are heavy AF (76kg for their smallest set, big set is 100kg+) and the latches are pretty flimsy, numerous reports of latches breaking when loaded up.

          @MATTDAMON:
          It's all cheap Chinese crap. If you care about your vehicle and the experience you'll have, look elsewhere.

          @faceman54:

          Drifta units for me, handy because they are only an hours drive away and they do custom sizing for no additional cost

        • @MATTDAMON:
          You see praise, especially on Facebook and YouTube, because of bribery - if you submit reviews you can win stuff, upload a photo and you can win stuff… etc

          @MATTDAMON:
          No doubt about the quality difference to Drifta but you are also comparing $450 to whatever thousand(s) you paid.

        • @Wolfy: Besides Drifta, any other recommendations guys?

        • +1

          @womble:

          Saw the Rhino Rack Dome 1300 at the 4wd show. Unique design, looked well made. $380 according to google.

        • @flipfire: ah thanks flipfire, love the rhino gear (and will keep that tip in mind) was also after drawer recommendations besides drifta drawers

        • @womble:

          Drifta, opposite lock, black widow, ARB

      • Their customer service is absolutely awful. Don't say i didnt warn you…

        My past orders have always been 1 month late from the expected date. Also my Waeco fridge order was in their system just sitting in limbo till i called to check up where it was. Luckily they still had 2 left, otherwise i would have missed out and wasted weeks.

        The Kings branding is just alibaba stuff, basically disposable.

    What's the canvas like? Is it that ripstop junk that rips?

  • +7

    Don't forget with Amex can get it down to $80

  • Just be aware it seems to cost more to get side walls for the 2m awning as opposed to a 2.5m.
    I've got a 2m awning (tigrz11) I picked up cheap off ebay but quality is not great but will do the job

    When I saw the thumbnail, I thought the deal was for a flying car

    Left disappointed

    • Just buy two of them - one per side, get up some decent speed towards a cliff and you'll get a half decent glider.

      …for maybe a whole second.

  • +6

    Not much of a deal as you can't drive with it attached as the poles don't include wheels… and suitable wheels from bunnings cost $30 each…

  • From the photos looks very similar to the 4WD supacentre one that can be had for $85-90 plus postage (varies by day).
    However I would say that this is a better deal because there are many locations and warranty would be less hassle.

    Noiice Gary!

    Saw the picture and thought this deal was for a flying 4WD kit.
    Disappointed.

    • Convert your 4WD into a plane indeed.

      • Yeah, well a bunch of chooks built a plane out of palings. True, it was documented in a movie, so must be true

  • This one has 4 mesh walls and is cheaper !! Any idea why it is cheaper ?

      Read the review of that one with the mesh. Sounds like you only get the mesh walls and ceiling, but still need to buy the awning. I'm only guessing, but it does seem a little misleading.

      • Thanks , You are correct :)

  • Can I not attach it to something else other than a car?

    • +2

      Yes

    • +2

      You can as long as you can mount standard L brackets to it.

  • Sometimes I wonder if these would makes a good part-time patio over grass for an event or when you have people over and need shade. like you could use the 3x3 one and clip it to your gutter or fasica.

    I got a kings 2x2.5m one for $90 or something a while back. Its on the car but havent really used it yet. I figure these awnings will go in & out of popularity. make more for beach use.

  • Well I'm leaving from NSW to Fraser Island, QLD on Saturday.. hopefully this arrives before/on Friday…

    • i'm leaving for fraser on saturday too! from brissie though. ordered mine from KINGS 3rd dec and got it this monday 12 dec. 6 working days it took. mounted it yesterday and set it up afterwards. good value for money!

      • OMG… OzBargainers on Fraser Island at the same time :) Lucky you got yours… I'll be the car without one :)

        I did get an email saying that its "shipped" and waiting for couriers to pick it up today… so maybe I'll get it tomorrow!?!?? I think it might be coming from QLD though… sigh
