    They're available day 1 unlike Gamefaqs.

    They have maps that look much more readable than ASCII maps.

    Presentation wise it just looks nicer with all the pretty pictures and side notes.

    There's a market for them.

    I buy them in physical format, but rarely open one. They have very good resale value, especially if you get a CE hardcover.
