For not much more than $99, you can get a Cherrytrail with UPS and touchscreen, i.e. a tablet. But they do have hdmi-out as well.
Last one I got aS $110 - 10% cashback… So for equal price you can get a tablet.
Everything Pendo (now ProTab) I've had has failed on me. Each to their own but just giving a warning. On the plus side their refunds department works well.
I wonder why they changed their name :-)
Another name change will probably come soon too haha
Yeah I agree that a Z3735F is reeeally not up for the job. Struggles to even restore and minimise in 1080p without lagging.
For $9 extra you can get this which is the next gen https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Wintel-Pro-MINI-PC-intel-ato…
I have it, it's okay, I don't really use it, but I probably should, the wifi struggles noticeably if you're not close to the router.
Thanks for posting this!
This is the equivalent of the first gen Intel Compute Stick (STCK1A32WFCL), which you will probably find is a little under specced for HTPC duties.
IMO you're better off spending an extra $66 and getting the latest version of the Compute Stick, which has a Cherry Trail Z8300 (capable of playing 8bit HEVC), a second USB 3.0 port, AC wifi etc:

…or going for something even more powerful.
