        • @arbok:
I'm sure your aware but since your talking usa prices you know 3ds's are region locked right? Can't play aussie games in a usa console.

        • @arbok: I was going to say don't get one from USA as they are region lock so the savings on the console wouldn't be worth it for you. Also give Target's customer service a call, they can tell you which stores near you have one in stock if the AC 3DS is no longer on the website.

      • +1

I bought a $179 3DS from Target yesterday (Rockingham WA) the deal is definitely still on

  • +3

One suspects this sale will be conducted on the same processes as their last sale.

Nothing available after taking your money, and then cancelling the orders with the statement " Oh no, something is missing…."

    • that was horrible. they charged me $10 shipping for 2 of my 10 items. In the end I paid $18 for two old games.

      • You should email or call them and complain. I read someone else did on here and received a partial refund.

        • I didn't even bother to call and complain - there was plenty of that from other quarters. I just initiated a Paypal dispute for the shoddy practice!

      • Yikes.

I must have got lucky. Ordered Twilight Princess HD and Just Dance 2017 in the sale and both came promptly.

  • Does anyone know if pickup in store is allowed for these types of sales?

    • +1

      Says online only.

      • +4

I know it says online only but that relates to the purchase method. Im asking whether the online purchase can be for for pickup in store . Anyone have prior experience with these Mad Monday sales ?

        • No, confirmed in store today.

  • I'm ready to buy a lot of gift cards.

  • Eb are the professionals, they will make money by tearing apart your package into 4 pieces, then charging you postage for all 4 pieces

    • They didn't tear apart packages - they started to source the goods from stores themselves.

In this case, the 4 items would be sourced from 4 difference stores as most would never have more than two items (from an order) originating from the same location.

  • can someone explain to me what steam link is? is it essentially a box that i plug into my tv and i can play all my steam games?

i currently have a macbook so can't play a lot of the steam games in my library. will this allow me to play all steam games on my tv?

    • It's pretty much a streaming box and requires a desktop machine turned on that you can stream the game from. PC runs the game, Steam Link just streams it to your TV/monitor. It doesn't actually run Windows or anything, so it can't double as a replacement system to run games that require Windows.

You could still stream games from your MacBook to the Steam Link if you wanted, but it'd be OSX compatible games only.

    • tl;dr for you is no, it will simply run whatever you can on your Macbook but output it to your TV.

  • So this is online only and we have to pay for postage? i wish there was click & collect

  • So what is this every 30 minutes thing ? I am confused. So I want to buy the PS 4 Pro Console Deal, wont it be available for the entire 24 hours or will the deal be avaiable for only 30 minutes out of that 24 Hour Monday sale ?! Please advise. Also will they allow me order online and pick it up from a store ?

    • +2

There is a new deal every hour. That deal would last for 30 minutes. For example, Pokemon Sun and Moon will go for $46 at 7pm, lasting for 30 minutes.

The PS4 Pro deal would last for the whole day, since it's separate from the 30-minute deals.

Cannot pick-up from store. Has to be purchased online for it to be delivered - and expect a shipping fee (which we don't know yet).

      • +1

Aahh great. Thanks for the clarification

    • Was considering the Pro deal also, but I've already got two of the games. I'd much rather a console only discount instead of having to also buy games I don't want then having to get rid of them.

  • If there is no click and collect I call shenanigans on buying any games from this deal

    • +1

You can call shenanigans as there is no Click and Collect.

    • …and what's the chances of the stuff not arriving by Christmas. :/

      • They're giving away a $20 gift card if it's not delivered by the 24th, so hopefully the orders get shipped pretty quick.

      • 15% chance imo from experience, don't get your hopes up though

  • Seems strange they stopped access to there main EB Games site.

Hope this sale isn't like there recent clearance sale where they had no stock, partially cancelling most of the items from orders without refunding the postage on cancelled items as well.

    • They do this every time the hold some weird sale like this with timed events.
It's really awful as you lose complete access to any other info on the site.

Wow these are black friday like prices…Been 10 months since I moved from the US and who says Australia doesnt have its deals! :)

    • There are deals here just not that often and usually not as low or easy to get a hold of.

      • +2

Agreed but at least there are few opportunities like these. Hope things get better in 2017…With the rumours of Amazon finally reaching our shores.

  • Let me put it in simple terms -

EB can afford to do MUCH better than this. Mediocre Monday sums it up well

  • So from history is Mad Monday the best deal day from EB games or is it better to wait for the Boxing day sale ? Looking to get a PS4 Pro.

    • +3

Last year I remember ignoring a lot of good pre-Christmas sales and deals (for both video games and cameras) in anticipation of the "amazing" sales after Christmas, and they didn't really eventuate. So I'm going for it this time :-)

Boxing day sales are great for saucepans, knives, clothes and manchester though!

      • Thanks for your reply. Appreciated :)

  • +1

EB can (profanity) off after charging me $25 for 2 guide books I didn't even really want. Still need to call them about that bullshit.

    • +5

Why did you commit to buy something which you didn't want?

      • +2

To answer your question, they were ordered as side dressing for my main items which were all cancelled.

    • If you're talking about the postage, I too was slugged $25 postage when they couldn't find the two main items I wanted on my order. I called them and spent about 12 minutes on hold (so not too bad really), and they immediately refunded the full $25 postage. Not bad considering I actually received about five items from five different stores around Australia.

They did redeem themselves over that sale.

      • +1

Similar thing happened to me too during the last sale. Had to push it a bit, but eventually they refunded the postage.

  • Can someone link the 11 page catalogue, I can't see anything, is there a catalogue even available?

    • i was confused about that too but when you click on the "go to deal" button it does take you to the 11 page online catalogue
      the catalogue link is here
      http://madmonday.ebgames.com.au/

its actually 12 pages long not 11
if you look in the bottom right corner it says "pg1" for page 1
and then theres 2 arrows left and right in the middle of the page to flip the pages

  • Do they allow postage lockers?

  • Will be a lot of poor condition store stock id say and returns from the last sale

  • +4

Bravely Second - End Layer 3DS for $29. Giddyup!

    • Yeah there are a few good 3DS deals. Interested

  • Wii U never discounted… EB Games and other retailers clearly know something I do not. Hmmm.

    • EB and Nintendo have a pretty tight business relationship, the only time you ever get a really good price is when it's on clearance and most of the time it's not from EB

  • For the steam link, can is use a XBOX controller?
Anyone has a Steam link? Is it useful? How the latency with 100Mb LAN for the recent games?

  • Is the Logitech Controller for the PC ($19) any good or is an Xbox 360 controller a better choice?

    • Do you prefer Xbox-style or Playstation-style controllers?

      • SNES?

Doesn't matter now though. Got an R2D2 xbox one controller for $25 from Target ^_^

  • Where can i find the 11 page catalogue?

  • Is skyrim a good buy at $35?

    • If you haven't played Skyrim yet you are doing it wrong.

      • I played it on 360. I asked if it's a good deal.

    • +1

ignoring the fact that you somehow havent played skyrim before id say get the pc version when its on sale.

      • I don't have a gaming pc, only a business laptop. I also have played skyrim on the xbox 360

        • If you're like me & played through the whole thing on 360 including the extra DLC then I'd give it a miss, unless you have a spare 100+ hrs of your life with nothing better to do.

        • @Dreamcazman: true. I have a lot less time these days.

  • +10

I still remember last year's mad monday, because I got fired on that afternoon……….

    • I notice you don't have the Associated tag anymore. Do tell us your story!

    • +1

Sounds like a good story behind it

    • +3

EB are a horrible company with a joke of a management structure. Good people don't stay. I've poached a few. Amazing how well they do when they're treated with respect.

  • For value for money F4 @ $20 isn't bad, but doesn't include any DLC so might be a better deal with a 'deluxe' equivalent tomorrow.

  • -1

so do we have to check the steam link times as 12:01am tonight?

    • Steam Link is for the entire day. Considering it's cheaper than Amazon right now it's the cheapest you'll be able to grab one for a long time.

      • yep, my guess is it will get ozbargained not long after 12am tonight, or before 7am when people are waking up for work/tinkering on the train on the way to work lol

  • I think it kinda sucks that the site is down so I can't make an account in advance. There's no way the Steam Link will still be in stock by the time I finish setting up an account :(

    • -2

      Make.. an EB.. account..

      Were you born today?

      • -1

What a useless and meaningless comment.

        • -1

          Christ..

        • @Putnum: Well that single swear word totally cleared things up.

What's wrong with your brain, exactly? What were you trying to achieve with this pointless mashing of your keyboard?

        • -1

@MrMcHairyHead: You're just as bad as each other tbh

        • -1

          @MrMcHairyHead:

Very few places make you create an account, you just checkout as a guest with paypal. Your original post was not an actual concern.

        • +1

          @Tal_Shiar: Uh, I didn't do anything wrong?

        • +1

@Duff5000: As I clearly explained, I was concerned the Steam Link would be out of stock by the time I typed all my details in. I'm used to these ozbargain sales selling out in 1 - 2 minutes. Regardless, the other user's reply was useless, rude nonsense, which explained nothing, and just insulted me.

  • It's live guys and it has not crashed… yet.

So far, I found out that the P&H fess for Watch Dogs 2 collector's edition is $8.20 to metro areas and $7.80 for Steam Link.

  • $7.80 shipping for steam link, no collect in store option, I think I'll pass

  • it's live now, got one but $7.80 delivery

    • Yep I was about to order a $21 item and it was $9.74 delivery.

I ship cheaper using Australia Post and Ebay.

  • Aargh… have e-gift cards and can't seem to use them to pay!!! Only paypal and C/C options unless I can't find the option to pay using gift cards

    • +2

      There isn't one.

  • Would it be other deals by the next hour or it's pretty much it?

    • Starting at 9am. But apart from those deals it's pretty much it. Pretty average prices for most things.

  • Here are some random finds (before P&H) -

    Xbox One

    • Mafia III - Deluxe Edition: $59
    • Recore, Doom and Deus Ex Mankind Divided Collector's Edition: $88, $88 and $89 respectively.
    • Ryse, Sunset Overdrive (both pre-owned): $10 each

    • Titanfall 2 with tshirt, lanyard and other junk: $42 for all platforms.
    • CoD Legacy Edition (the one with Modern Warfare remastered): $77 for both platforms. Comes with metal case.
    • Some Wii U games pricing is kinda good.

      • +1

don't bother with Mafia 3 until it is < $15 for the Deluxe

        • I'm thinking Shovel Knight at $30 delivered.

        • @foxmulder: Shovel Knight will probably come sealed from their warehouse, any price under $30 is deal worthy imo and it's such a nice throwback to having a game and booklet

  • Shipping of $8.60 is kind of meh considering theres an EB just a few minutes from me, not to mention waiting for delivery… will pass

  • Got my steam link. Awesome price. Thank OP

  • My score

    • steam link $36
    • Watch Dogs 2 Deluxe $49
    • Mafia 3 Deluxe (season pass included) $59

    for a total of $153.80 ($9.80 shipping)

  • +1

Looks like shipping is capped at $20 - after adding the Titanfall 2 Vanguard Edition, which comes with a full-size wearable helmet.

  • nothing too appealing

  • Would a overwatch small tshirt is too big for a 11 yo?
