      Such a generous discount!

Normally cashreward can only offer 1% cash back, assume u paid for $1000, this is 2% :)

        • Whilst this is correct for VA domestic flights, and of course on the fare exluding taxes, Etihad via Cash rewards pays 1.6% cashback on the full amount you pay including the taxes, here is a copy paste of one of my recent purchases with Etihad that tracked on CR.

07 Oct 2016 Etihad Airways 90 days from booking completion (Sale Amount) AUD1100.65 (Cashback/Savings)AUD 17.61

      • Was thinking the same

      Free money is free money.
Also quote from AirChina website is usually surprisingly cheaper than those OTAs…

        Free money is free money.

Totally agree, I'm all for saving money. But check this out. Use the coupon and you pay a whopping $3141 to fly to Beijing return ex Melb in mid Jan with Air China. Book Qantas via IWTF, and the same dates come to $1242. Something's not quite right :)

        • +1

          2 stopovers vs direct.
also qantas only has 30kg luggage. Air China has 2 x 23kg luggage !

        • +1

@isdnman: Here's like-for-like with Air China. Still $563 cheaper via IWTF.

        • Yeah but thats for the fare price, not this "fair" price….. 😀

          Fairs fare….

        • +3

@isdnman: Be careful with that 2x23Kg luggage. They strictly enforce the maximum per bag limit, even if you only have 1 bag. I've had to do some re-packing of 2kgs into my carry on. Most of the time I'd prefer the 1 x 30Kg from Qantas.

Qantas also has MEL<->PEK for $649 on same dates and it's around $950 on a lot of dates.

Qantas economy V Air China economy. There is absolutely no comparison, Air China is horrible.

    • On your RETURN fair :)

    lol $20 off !!

  • JACDEC Airline Safety Ranking 2016: http://www.jacdec.de/airline-safety-ranking-2016/
Air China is 42nd out of 60 listed.
(1st: Cathay Pacific Airways, QANTAS: 13th, the last one is Vietnam Airlines).

  • Thanks!

I actually booked with AirChina yesterday. $871 return to Europe over the Easter School holidays 2017. I would post an official deal, but I'm waiting before I share because I have a friend that might book soon and if I post I'm quite sure the deal will expire.

Was going to be $2, but marketing said it's Australia so needs to be at least double digits.

  • Different way of thinking? A few month ago I found an aluminum ladder shipped from Sydney, but distributed by a Chinese company; they just have one Chinese person in Sydney handling local distribution. eBay auction said: "$150 or make an offer". I made $130 offer, and they come back with counter-offer: "best price $149.50". I took it as a bad joke, didn't even reply, and bought another ladder elsewhere.
