A little more info about the Maple below, there is a lot more on the product page plus several optional extras such as verandahs and skylights.

Our CEDAR SHED range of products are manufactured in Australia, and constructed using 42 x 42mm termite resistant pine framing and 18mm thick Canadian Western Red Cedar VJ cladding with a Colorbond steel roof. The MAPLE 6 x12 is supplied in an easy to assemble kit with pre-made panels. The panels come in raw timber (not stained or painted) allowing you to select the finish of your choice. Typically time required for assembly is about 2 to 3 hours excluding the floor. We have 2 flooring options, the recommended floor is the Heavy Duty Floor Kit, this is a subfloor that gives the shed a solid level foundation to be built on.

I agree, I got excited to see the price, but then read the description :(

can't recommend this enough , without price it becomes a clickbait

    Done :)

This is even cheaper than the Tiny House project! No more mortgage!

$220 would be worth a +ve vote, but $2865, no bargain from me…

  • It's showing $5,221.00 for me…

    That's a lot of money for a 6x12 foot shed…

But that's when adding in all the options as well (annex, extra windows, skylights, etc). Although it is still not a cheap shed. Much cheaper for me to knock one up from scratch. Not everyone can do that though, but I'm sure there are cheaper timber sheds out there, especially since this is only $220 off

      • Hi Syba, we strive to have the best prices in Australia on our cedar sheds. Plus we have a lot of options that others dont plus our free storage box option. Our sheds are Australian made also, its always a great time to support Aussie businesses :)

Ahhh JV, yes if you add every possible optional extra it increases the price.
Ornate hardware, loft shelves, roof colour change, HD floor, delivery, extra window and a verandah.
Thats a lot of extras dont you agree JV?

Finally some good news for the gen xs who want to own their own home ;)

  • FYI all:
Shed is 2.5m high.. so not allowed by council (in my area at least it's 2.4m max from natural ground, 2.1 average! (ridiculous restriction).
Also, my council says a shed must have a concrete slab floor.

Other states/councils may be more relaxed.

    • Stitchy, you should find that you can have this shed, it just means you will need a building permit in your area. These are usually very easy to obtain.

      • Just to apply for the permit costs $600.

        fyi all:
I am actually about to diy a 10m2 gable shed.
I was given a bunch of free timber/fasteners/nailgun etc.

I will be following this basic design:
        http://www.house-improvements.com/shed
(my favourite diy guy on youtube by far)

doesn't look as cute, but i don't want windows for security/insulative reasons. Having a remote open roller door is on the cards though.

      • Incorrect. This classes as a structure and being wood will attract various reatrictions on location.

        • +1

Unsure what you are referring to as incorrect. Wood sheds aren't treated any differently in my council area.

        • @Stitchy:

There are often restrictions on exposed wood structures. These are typically due to bush fire zones and termites. A DA is often required too regardless of height or material, varies by council and zoning.

        • @smoke87:
Thanks for clearing that up. Anyway Apart from height.. Shed would be fine in my area without da.

For those interested.. This mob has some handy info on restrictions in different states and whether da actually needed

(info could be outdated so always check with council of course)
