Off topic, is your avatar pic from that old McClain's super juicy corn commercial? "Marge, the rains are here"

    • +6

      YES! Finally someone noticed :)

Love it. We still quote that line at home, also cos we have a lady across the road called Marge

Whoops. You surprise me again McClane. Anyone remember that line from the ps1 die hard game?

  • I got something similar to this from K Mart for $10. I.e. Local

Saw them too, only 6 led though.

To save someone else googling - 9.8 ft = 2.98m

Plastic. Life expectancy in WA sun: 1 week.

Try putting some sunscreen on them. It's 50% off at Coles.

    • I've got a couple of versions of these from Aliexpress sitting in the WA sun for the last 2 years, and still going strong.

Both versions I have look the same as these externally, but one has a soft light on all night and the other only comes on with movement.

      I'm very happy with mine.

  • These look crappy, they wouldn't last a year in Melbourne's harsh weather.

Just an FYI… if anyone's after decent Solar Security Lighting then I can't recommend these guys more: http://www.solargalore.com.au/solar-sensor-security-light/ Bought a couple of these a few months ago: http://www.solargalore.com.au/solar-ultra-bright-700-lumens-… Whoa! Very decent quality and shines a dim 'warm white' light when it gets dark but cross into the detection area and 700 Lumens of 'cool white' light floods the area. Needed them fast so didn't mind paying a bit more for local stock. Arrived super quick.

No affiliation, just thought it may be handy for anyone after something a bit better than the light in this deal.

  • 240lumens, thats about a normal 20watt globe (about a fridge globe) isnt it? so very very dull.

  • I'll need one of these now after my solar security light got stolen yesterday.

  • I actually bought some of these 2 years ago. They are brilliant and still work after being stuck on the brick wall outside and have been covered by spider webs and heavy rain and 40+ degree in Melbourne. The only think I did was take out the terrible rechargeable battery and put in one of the many eneloops I had thanks to ozbargain. Well worth a few. I use 6 of them and they last close to the morning.

    • 6 eneloops…..? Serious power usage

  • i can vouch for these lights, own 4 of them. They are super bright and have lasted well in the elements (QLD).

  • Thanks OP. Got the 5 pack for US$28 based on all those that gave feedback.
