        • +1

just search up your old acc and copy the playlist,

        • @kirbycake: oh I see. Thanks for letting me know

    • Its really simple to make a new account.

  • Would new email work or we need new card as well?

    • +1

Most certainly you'll need a new card.

    • +1

      You could try using paypal

    • Try paypal, I've done this a few times using paypal and works like a charm.

  • +2

I was just typing this deal up to submit. I also found when I logged into my account that I could get "3 months of Premium for $11.99".

Spotify Premium $0.99 for First 3 Months (New Premium Users Only) - Back Again

Suggest title to be change: "Spotify Premium $0.99 for First 3 Months (New Users) OR $11.99 (Existing Users) - Back Again"

    • Where did you see the 3 months for existing customers?

Asking as I'm on a family subscription and wondering if it's possible to get 3 months for $17.99.

      • +1

As soon as I logged into the website.

        • Thanks Forgot69 and Online Bathroomware, I think it's not available for Family accounts as I get an error message when I click the link "Unfortunately, there is no support at the moment to make this type of change to your subscription. Contact our customer service team who can help you further."

      • +1

I received $11.99 offer when I tried signing up with a new account, but with a card that had already been used previously.

    • +1

I didn't see this anywhere… not sure where you looked. Link please

  • +1

Is there an expiry for this deal?

  • thanks, been waiting for it.

  • great deal. thanks OP

  • Youtube Red is also the same price right?

    • +1

Yes I think a few codes floating around. I have Google play with youtube red for the family and pay with telstra google credit.

      • +1

Me too, cannot find a better use of credit

    • +7

3 months for $11.99 instead of per month.

    • +1

      For 1 month, not 3.

    • +4

      'LOL'

    • +2

      edgy.

    • +1

Good for you, but I'm out of unused credit cards for the 99c deal :-(

  • +5

I am on the family plan which works out to be $3pp which is quite cheap.

  • +4

Can be had for $3/month in perpetuity for those willing to make a family account for $18/month. Requires you to have 5 friends/family members that also want to join (it's okay if they have accounts already), but you can do what I do and collect the money from them up front. The 6 accounts are completely separate and can be "added" to the family plan via a dashboard made available to the payer.

    • I've been wanting to do that for a while…wondering….do they have to have the same last name..billing address or anything or can it literally be anyone?

      • Technically everyone in the family plan needs to be at the same address. When the members join the family plan they are asked for their address and it needs to match the one set by the plan owner.

      • No, anyone would work, doesn't have to have same billing address or last name. I joined a friend's friend family plan, save myself a lot of money like this

Clearly states all family members must reside at the same address.

        • @tarken: Well my friends joined my family plan and they don't live anywhere near me… I don't think they ask for address… email address maybe.

        • @tarken: Yes it does state that but I don't think it is enforced. I am part of a family plan with a friend who has a different surname and different address. No problems so far.

        • +5

@gummibears: Except the itchiness from being a liar, liar pants on fire ;-)

        • +1. I pay for a family account that my friends are using. All organised through Facebook - they were never asked to enter any address details.

      • +1

I tried adding my brother in England. That didn't work but friends here added fine

        • +1

          So it's a neighbourhood plan rather than a family plan ? ;)

      • When you join up with a Family plan, you need to enter the same address as the account holder. I believe Spotify's also planning to crack down on people not residing at the same address (IP address checks, etc). So I would advise against abusing the Family plan in the long run.

      • Hi pisoj, I think the rules tarken is referencing may be US only. My experience has been that I signed up for the plan and simply provided a joining link to each person that I nominated. None of them live with me or share my last name, or any other similar details.

    • I'm looking at this, but wondering if theres an option to pre-pay a year?

Wanting to collect the money up front from each person. Then if they want to stop using it within the year, then that's totally fine.

      • You can also replace family members anytime.

        • +5

          Woah that's pretty cool.

Can I trade in my dad for a new one?

          Mine doesn't support band 28.

    • +4

any ozbargainers wanting to band together for a family acc?

      • Yeah I've set one up, 2 spots taken so the rest are available. If anyone's keen PM :D

  • Can you cancel this membership anytime so you don't have to pay the $11.99 afterwards?

    • +6

I canceled just now after sign up. Will have it until Feb.

  • -3

If they made it $4 a mont all the time I would subscribe. Don't see value at any more than that for the amount I use it.

    • +8

      Good to know

    • +3

If you use it rarely, then just stick with the free ad-supported tier.

For people like me and others who use it for hours on end on a daily basis, hell yeah $11.99 a month is worth it.

      • -2

        Ads are cancer though.

        • +1

Well you either pay to remove the ads and get extra features, or stream it for free with ads. Take your pick.

        • +1

@swanny246: You forgot the third option, don't use it :p

        • +1

@Diji1: heh, I listen to music way too much to consider anything else. Plus the music discovery features are awesome, my playlists grow constantly by the week.

        • And you can have a local cached copy and higher sound quality.

      • Too right it's worth it. Even if you only download one album a month, you're still getting good value from it. Spotify has also introduced me to so many songs and bands I never would have heard of through the 'New Releases', 'Discover' and random user playlists. I used to torrent all my music, but since getting into Spotify, I haven't downloaded a single song through P2P.

    • Cool. I get Pandora for free without ads/pauses, region locking and unlimited skips and I wouldn't pay for it if i couldn't (get it for free).

      • How?

      • How?

        • how?
I know via sonos app you get next to no ads, but they are still there.

        • @wreckedandjealous: It was ad free on Sonos for us until recently (maybe 2 months ago). Once the ads started we upgraded to paid Pandora which is a higher bitrate also.

  • +3

"It appears that you're not eligible for this offer."

Can't fathom how to apply the 3 month discount.

  • Welcome …. back ?

  • Or get the family pack and split between 6 people and pay $3 a month?

    • Stupid me pays and gets nothing from family :(

  • +3

Has anyone looked into VPN-ing into Philipines to take advantage of Spotify Philipines pricing? Their family plan is ~$5.20/mth, which is cheaper than the regular monthly price of an Aussie individual one. Also cheaper than sharing an Aussie family plan which works out to be $3/mth with 6 people.

From my brief research though, it seems you have to consider the following:

    • Library of music may differ slightly
    • You might need a Philipines credit card (no idea how to obtain one..)
    • Family members are supposed to live at the same residential address but I don't think this is enforced
    • My co-worker does this, he has confirmed the music availability is rubbish there.

      • Ah that different? I would've thought it might miss a couple of things here and there. I wonder what kind of music it lacks?

        Other option is Spotify Malaysia.

      • The music availability on the Aussie is supposedly not much better and people seem to like it.

Please fix the title it's 11.99 per month for existing users

    • -1

      No it's not.

"Start 3 months of Premium for $11.99
Listen without the distraction of ads
Play music with no phone service
Skip as many songs as you want
      Only $11.99/month after.
      Cancel anytime."

      • +1

How does it work for an existing user? Do I have to cancel and sign up again?

      • What if you are on premium. Didn't work for me

      • -1

        Can you read? It says'start'!!

  • I switched a week through a standard paid premium month to the family account, they charged me full amounts again, can't help but think I should have had credit… If I didn't like it so much I'd kick up a stink.

  • +5

Don't forget to change the music quality to High from the settings when you're a premium member. Changes the bitrate from 160kbps to 320kbps.

  • Hello, yes I am [email protected] and I've never used Spotify before.

(is this allowed? Can I use a throwaway email and make a new account? lol)

    • Gmail 'trick' works a treat m8.

      • Was more curious if it's allowed (too lazy to read terms myself, lol)

        • I reckon one of the following is likely:

          • T&C's won't specify
          • T&C's will specify and say it's not allowed
          • T&C's won't specify but if you + others abuse it too much, they'll crack down

Not condoning or supporting either way. Just saying what I think is likely.

Existing user but not seeing an option to get the 3 months for $11.99? Cancelled my subscription but can't see an offer for it, any help?

    • I just did the same. Maybe we have to wait until the current subscription period has ended?

      • Ah perhaps you're right, that would make sense seeing as we have on-going subscriptions. Thanks!

        • Last time they did this offer in June it ran for a month so I am hoping that I can still get the offer. My subscription runs out in the 15th December.

    • +1

Yeah I pointed this out with a negative vote, but received too many negative votes

  • +1

Offer of 3 months for 11.99 not available to me it says

  • Damn it I just signed up a week ago. I've cancelled my subscription which is still valid to the 15th Dec. I don't get the option for the 3 months for $12 though. Perhaps I have to wait until my subscription has expired? Fingers crossed the offer is still around in a months time so I can find out.
Anyone else in the same boat?
