Quite a lot actually - it just excludes the usual (Apple/Samsung + Consoles + Gift cards), with the addition of Dyson products. Considering the title says *lots of exclusions, it's far less than I expected it to exclude…

They used to have fewer exclusions, e.g. this one last year where consoles and Dyson were still included.

My ww staff discount card isn't accepted anymore
WW group is downsizing. Getting rid of masters, closing down lesser performing woolworths stores and the future of Big W is unknown
Some of their organisational practices are mind-blowingly stupid, for instance in one Hunter (low SES) suburb we have two fairly large Woolies stores quite literally within a block of each other!!!
Hopefully they get their shit together & make the group sustainable…

I believe, as with previous Big W Family and Friends promotions, staff scan their cards to get the discount, whilst everyone else scans the barcode on the flyer.
The way it's worded seems to suggest that you need to scan both?

Just be warned, at Doncaster they did not accept this without a staff card.

First Woolworths would have to sell Big W to an equity group, who would then goose the financials and float it on the stock exchange, then mismanage itself by overstocking slow-selling items, start frequent discounts that encourage people never to buy until one started, and finally start an alternate economy in Eneloop bartering.
All this would take at least 5 years. Plenty of time to use your gift card, which will expire in 12 months!

The checkouts should be able to read barcodes from your phone screen. Here's a cropped image of the barcode from the flyer.
Depends on whether the store has had the upgraded scanners capable of reading from a phone screen installed.
Worst case scenario, the staff are able to manual enter the barcode number into the POS if you ask them to.
The registers are meant to have a printed copy on hand just in case, so it shouldn't be an issue.

10% isn't as good as the 15% off Kmart used to have back in the day but still nice to shop with a slight discount. And some types of items never seem to be on special.

Just bought a luggage and asked the staff to scan the barcode without any questions. Also used my egift card to get further discount. I just folded the printed barcode and got through easy. Should work. Cheers

Not happy with the Big W customer service. My wife was buying shoes. She tried 4 pair of shoes and bought 1. Other 3 shoes, she left it on the floor. The bigw staff came to me and told me rudely that it is not the place to left the shoes. The way she told me is not the way to treat customer. Then I went to self check out to pay for the items. Normally bigw have a 10% off print outs left at the entry and I scan from that print out. However it was not there therefore I asked the self checkout staff about the print out and she was not aware of it. I told her not to worry, went to this ozbargain post and got the barcode. I tried to scan the barcode from phone. But it didn't scan. Therefore I asked the staff to manually add it to the system. She look at it and asking me question about where I got this barcode from. Eventually she did enter the barcode however it was not the good experience. Don't feel like to go back to bigw.
Seems the staff at Doncaster haven't been reading their portal communications.
On Thursday it mentioned that there was a miss print on the flyer, and it shouldn't say anything about a staff card. In fact if you are staff and didn't scan the flyer, you wouldn't get the discount!

I had no issues at self serve getting the discount today. $13 whole dollars saved ;) thanks OP picked up a beard trimmer that was on special from $129 to $99 and a few half price boxes of my fave guilty pleasure- raffaelos. I can't believe anyone would pay $18 for a box of Raffaelos. But at $9 1/2 price special plus 10% off paid with 5.5% discounted woolies gift card they were irresistible .
