Updated :)
I do notice a lot more people complaining about PC Byte than Futu though, especially when it comes to the shipping times. I bought this exact monitor from Futu during the last eBay sale (which is not even 2 weeks ago), ordered on Monday night, dispatched Tuesday, delivered Wednesday.
Stick with Futu, seriously.
@Diji1: Really? how come? I've never dealt with PC Byte
Is there a freesync version?… Nvidia Tax add on grosses me out.
Should put in title resolution: 2560 x 1440
That's what QHD is.
What does the Q stand for?
@Letrico:Cheers If anyone else is wondering:
QHD (Quad High Definition) is a resolution standard for high-end monitors, televisions and mobile devices. QHD is specified as 2560x1440 pixels at a16x9 aspect ratio, four times that of 720p standard high definition. Ultra wide QHD boosts the horizontal pixels to 3440 for a 21x9 aspect ratio.
QHD = 2560x1440 aka 1440p
The Freesync version is the AG271QX
Thanks. I just had a look.
$600 (20% off $750) is Pretty dam good IMO
And its 1mS response time? am I missing something, why has it got a better response time.

1ms response time usually means the monitor is using the cheaper TN panel instead of the more expensive IPS panel like this AG271QG monitor. The colour reproduction and viewing angle of a TN panel is generally not as good as an IPS panel. However IPS panel tends to have more noticeable glow, and this AG271QG monitor (as well as Acer Predator XB271HU and Asus ROG Swift PG279Q which use the same panel from AOC) have mediocre quality control, some people notice excessive backlight bleeding from them.
@edfoo: Wow.
Thanks for the response. Who thought it would be so complicated buying a new Monitor :S
Maybe I will wait until HDR monitors come out to upgrade.
@mavis30551: I still don't understand HDR in a monitor. In photography, HDR just means taking a few same scenery photos of different exposure, superimpose them together into a single photo, giving a more dynamic contrast. It looks better but more artificial (not natural) to me.
What will be better in a monitor is one that uses OLED panel, but just like TV, only LG is making them and they are charging an arm and a leg.
This also works out to around $600 and is IPS, I don't know how it compares other than it being 4k.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/LG-27UD68-W-27-LED-LCD-Computer-M…?@edfoo: I looked at OLED TV's but by god I cant justify spending a few thousand on a new tv/monitor!
I figured,anything will be good compared to my 5 year ASUS I have now, and I have always adopted technology at a more agreeable price>performance rate (IE OLDER but not too old) . OLEDS are just too damn expensive atm
@AreYouAWiiizard: wow good find, good review too! cheers
@mavis30551: Np, still way too pricy for me, I'm after a cheap 1440p Freesync, it seems like IPS isn't going to be possible but at this stage I don't really care.
The cheapest I can find on this is around $999… so roughly $100 off (~10%) isn't bad
Bought one from pccasegear a few weeks ago for $969 pickup, great monitor!
Bought one of these a couple weeks ago from Futu. It's an amazing monitor, minimal backlight bleed. Worth the bucks in my opinion.
Thanks for the reply, I was a little worried about the backlight bleed. Have you found anything bad about it? or are you overall pretty happy?
Price dropped on the AOC now to $863.20 delivered after 20% discount
So I just bought it and let the Lottery luck begin. If it's a bad one I'll get a refund and hold off or get Acer XB217hu from local shop instead for $925.Darn that 15 bucks! :( Thanks for the update
Available at PC Byte as well for the same price.
