      Shofer cover the whole of Perth afaik, this deal isn't limited to just the CBD like the Uber deal is

    I presume you can't pre-book on Shofer (the same as Uber)?

    In this case pre-book so you can get the discount later, but also as a general query as one of the hassles of Uber if you need to get to the airport (for example) - you have to hope you can get one when you need it.

      You can actually, but:

      Promo codes and first ride vouchers are not permitted for usage on pre-booked fares.

      So it's full price

      I use a Uber all the time to get to the airport (at least a dozen time this year) and only once had a car more than 10 minutes away accept the ride. The rest were usually 5-8 minutes.

        Depends on the time. I decided to get an uber to the airport once. Spent about 3 tense minutes refreshing the page hoping one would show up

      Shofer's referral system sucks though. Instead of a flat amount discount, it's a 20% discount per referee, non stackable.

      That being said, you can use mine if you want.

    Has anyone actually tried ordering a shofer? Last time i tried the nearest ride was 20-30 minutes away, uber was withing 5-7 minutes. I know they are only new to the game but how do you expect to compete without promo codes if there isnt enough drivers to meet demand?

    Also the two times ive caught one, they both gave me the pitch akin to buying a timeshare, rattling on about how Shofer is 100% legal and owned buy franchisees and uber doesnt pay tax yada yada…..That may be correct, but geez can i sit in the back and enjoy checking facebook for the 100th time today in peace?

    Having said all that, 40% off, ill shut up.

      Lol Shofer's fleet will be a lot smaller, since they use company cars not their own.

      No surge pricing is a huge plus too :)

        High demand and fixed supply equals occasional huge wait times.
        High demand and elastic supply equals occasional high prices.

        Each has obvious pros and cons, but not clear why one is better than the other…

      I've used them once, yes there was a 10min or so wait for the car to get to me. Uber would have been 2mins or so.

      I didn't get that sort of spiel. But i was asking questions and he answered politely.

      I enjoyed it. As I've mentioned before, i don't care, I'll use whatever is cheaper

      Thanks to this coupon I'll probably use them tomorrow to get home from a job interview :)
