    • I was hoping the filters would have the ability to exclude keywords. Nope. Stopped looking on the phone. Wait till I get to work and on the computer.

  • Tempted to pick up MW1,2,3 for PS3 just for the nostalgia. Played the campaign so many times.

  • Is anyone getting a "Game and Wario" OoS at checkout despite it showing as "in stock"?

    • Yes there are plenty of games that do it
      Pokemon White 2
      Pokemon X/Y Guide
      Transformers Rise of
+ more, you just got to pick what you want and go through the process expecting to lose some of them and then remove.

No one checks out faster than a Ozbargainers shakes fist

    • these can work with a ps4 too, also as general headphones

  • I bought some Wii U stuff but there was a problem with Paypal and now I've ending up doubling the order and Paypal is stuck pending the payment saying they'll take upto 72hrs to clear! I don't want to miss out on my order, anyone have any suggestions?
EDIT: Paypal has reversed payment, but now the items are out of stock :(
    Disappointing

…some are preowned, and some limited quantities, but some okay deals nonetheless

  • Went in get white two from my local store. Said can't do that price for their pre owned copy.
    So new is $4
Pre owned copy was 45 or or so. They wouldn't budge and give me the same price as a new copy. Such bs.

    • +1

      That is BS.

    • Yeah new copies that are really cheap are basically unicorns. they are usually available in a few stores only.

    • +1

Just to piss them off you should've traded in the new game you just bought for a profit

  • +1

I have a nasty feeling they will dishonour a certain uber-bargain in there. They better not cancel or partial the order and charge full price shipping.

  • Took too long and missed some goodies, still spent way too much on junk :)

  • When you buy new games online from EB, do they come factory sealed or opened?

i.e. is the stock getting sent from stores or a warehouse? I don't buy games from EB stores because all the discs are kept behind the counter so you aren't getting a brand new factory sealed copy.

    • last time they were left over second hand discs with no cases.

Literally got mine handed to me loose in a coles bag, despite being listed as "new copies" only to have a jerk salesman tell me "it wasn't a sale, it was just corporate making stores clean out the crap".

If it hadnt have been $1 a game I would have thrown the bag back at him and demanded a refund.

    • For high volume new items, they can be sealed direct..but I think some of these limited quantity sales get forwarded to store stock, some returns, some brand new, so it's a lucky dip on quality.

      • They shouldn't be allowed to list it as New if it's a returned item.

    • A long time ago when they were doing 2 for $90 one of the items I managed to get was the collectors edition of Batman Arkham Knight, even though it must've been sitting somewhere as old stock it was 100% sealed in perfect condition.

  • wanted to get a few things but ugh shipping

  • Oh man, what a day.

So many collectibles available now that they ship from store -> customer, rather than from only the warehouse. Was able to get the last two Twilight Princess/Skyward Sword figures I needed for an absolute steal!

Some really great bargains on their website right now!

  • -7

Pretty annoyed that I went through the trouble of selecting a few items I want to buy which are clearly listed "In Stock" then get all the way through checkout where "Pickup@Store" isn't even an option (why???) so I begrudgingly accept that I'll have to pay a few more bucks for shipping only to get "Oh noes! x,y,z are now out of stock. Please edit your order summary and remove it from your cart." I go back to these items and see that they are still "In Stock". I tried the checkout a few times in case it was a a glitch by no nice. Why does their storefront and cart say it's in stock but actual checkout on the last page say it's not. Stupid waste of time.

    • i'm not sure this bad experience diminishes the quality of the deal in any way/warrants a neg. for those that did manage to snag, this was a ripper. a disgruntled ozbargainer shouldn't be mad and neg, but be grateful ozbargain even exists and OP had the ability to post such a bargain for people to snap up in the first place. sketchy website like gearbest? neg. bad deal like cheaper elsewhere? neg. subpar website experience due to out of stock? not sure…..

      • -1

        There's always one smeghead

      • +3

A neg or two doesn't hurt, it just helps people set their expectations a bit.

I got a few bargains, but their stock system really is broken: it's still showing a game I wanted as in stock, but there's none online or in any store when you try and buy. That is a legit waste of time if those are the only games you're looking for.

We can point out bargains but still give each other a heads up to not set our hopes too high; it doesn't hurt anyone.

        • +3

Exactly this. People are too butt hurt about Negs! They have no lasting effect past the deal and it is a red herring to other members for the current deal where the problem is not severe enough that the deal should be pulled completely.

Insufficient quantity is a good enough reason for a neg according to the rules, and I'm annoyed that I have to further justify my neg which has already been done within the rules and more importantly already being used correctly for the intended purpose to warn other members of significant issues with the deal.

I have seen other members post comments in other deals posting about serious issues but say "but I'm not going to neg the deal" well they should, and there should be no shame. I would have liked to have read their comment before being negatively affected by something that someone else could have warned me about. But once hurt twice shy. Did you know that Negs get revoked only after -5 and if it happens again your Neg privileges get revoked for a while?

I wasted a significant amount of time chasing out of stock items showing as in stock… A 10 item order became 1, at which point the postage killed that item from being a deal, and honestly it felt like a bait and switch to get me excited about all these other items they didn't really have just to get me to the very end of the checkout (payment details already entered) to try and get me to buy the ones that they do have.

        • -1

@The Land of Smeg: your neg vote wouldn't of been revoked if you posted this the first time, your first comment above just makes you look like a sook

        • +1

@Tal_Shiar: This always happens. I expect my negs to get revoked. There is nothing wrong with what I said and I should not have to write a novel already pre-emptively justifying my neg with the rules every time I have to use it. No the problem is that people take the Neg votes too personally and think that OzBargain should be a special place where we just give each other loads of +s (and that the + and - of a deal count towards the submittor personally) to make each other feel good about bargains. The value of the Neg vote is totally lost because of this stigma that they can rarely be used to be helpful. The only time that Negs usually stick is when the problem with the retailer is glaringly obvious.

    • What's probably happening is a lot of people have it in their carts, and it's difficult to do real time updating of inventory. So by the time you finalize the order, someone else has beaten you to it.

      • it was like 3am and when I went back it was back to being in stock. It's just not updated properly. Others report the same.

  • ordered 9 games, saved about $200 supposedly, bummer I missed out on Game and Wario though, if anyone wants to resell at a reasonable price, hit me up (Y)

  • +2

Last night I was trying to purchase 3 games, apparently they were all out of stock. This morning they still listed the games 'in stock' so I tried the order again, and success. I suggest anyone last night who was trying to get a game/s and they were "out of stock" try again.

    • +1

      Thanks!

(I did get 2 steps further than yesterday with one of the in-stock/LOL-justkidding items from yesterday, but unfortunately it then showed as out of stock after entering payment details, so I still had to cancel.)

  • couldn't find anything worthwhile.

  • Im thinking of getting the Mirrors Edge Catalyst Collectors edition. But do i need it? no. Do i want it? Yes. But shipping is $14 and it kills it for me.. Dilema dilemma.. TT_TT

    • I bought it yesterday from store. very nice statue. quite heavy as well

      • wait what? i thought it was online exclusive only?? O.o

        • Nope, in-store as well. Picked mine up yesterday for $68! It is quite heavy, the biggest bag EB had only just fit it :P

        • @Kugz:
MMmm.. I"ll prob just find it in-store then. If none then its just not meant to be.. xD

        • @piggiepanda:

Yeah it appears to be sold out online now. Just click 'Find in Store' and whack in your Post Code. If you ring them up (a store near you with stock) I'm sure they'd be happy to put it aside :)

  • +2

The biggest bargain in my order looks to have slipped into 'delay and then tell customer it's out of stock'. Other items are now trackable. Don't count your bargain chickens until they are in your hands. As far as I'm concerned, charging 100% shipping and then only delivering 2/3 items with no consent is a form of a scam. Shades of Dick Smith on this one.

    • +1

Only one of my many items is currently trackable. It also says "ready for pick up" which doesn't make sense since it's supposed to be mailed out to me. Only time will tell!

      • +2

I can't believe they ship everything separately. Two items of six have shipped by courier from different States.

Hopefully the rest clear today… fingers crossed!

(I didn't get greedy yesterday - just selected a few things to get an order in quick yesterday before leaving work - had to deselect a couple of items to get the order through as they were out of stock by the time I got through the process)

  • A lot of the PS3 JRPGs that were like $4 seem to be gone now, within minutes of me checking them. I mean I would have unlikely gotten to them right now but oh well hope the people who bought them enjoy it and don't scab people on ebay for them.

  • +2

3 of my items got cancelled due to OOS.

  • Haha, so glad I got the CoD: Ghosts collector's edition for $15 last night! I knew it would go "out of stock" online!

    • Always wonder how good is the camera… like i would get just for the camera xD

      • That's exactly what I did. This would go nicely with the 360 version picked up for $23 two years ago..

Camera works well, but don't expect it to be a goPro. Records fine and quality of the videos are good. Comes with some suitable attachments for the camera as well, making this a complete package.

  • +2

They just refunded me for 6 items, including all of the 3DS cover plates. Great.

I was ecstatic that I finally managed to get a face plate without paying more than I think they are worth. I actually tried 6 different types of them, and all were either OOS, or got refunded because they couldn't find them.

I'm actually not sure what part of my order is still going through. I certainly don't want it now, since none of the shipping cost was returned. I'd be paying the same shipping cost for 10 or so items, to only receive ~2 items.

This has left me feeling pretty deflated.

  • +3

I rang at 5pm last night, told me I couldn't refund because more then 1 store has already collected it to be shipped, when I wanted to cancel and add more games.
All but 1 was refunded today.

EB employee bought my games? Dick Smiths all over again

  • Refunded pretty much all my items, but still shipped a single $1 item… + $6.95 shipping… yay.

    • +4

They really should send through a request asking if the customer wants to go through with the order if there is an issue fulfilling the entire order. It is certainly one tactic to avoid serious losses on $1 items I suppose, but hardly think that is worth losing customers over.

      • Yeah… I'm sending an e-mail to see what can be done… Definitely not happy paying $7 shipping for a single $1 item.

        • +1

Worth a shot I guess. Yeah, that is ridiculous.

  • All my items were refunded. I was looking forward to those cover plates and handful of vita games. GG EB.

    • Have you tried the Japan only felt/suede cover plates? They are the best IMHO. Wood looks great but feels weird, plastic camo feels cheap. Go felt I say. I bought Kirby this round…looks a bit like cork floorboard.

      • +1

I've heard a lot of good things about them but haven't tried them personally. I'm more into aethetics than how something feels though, so I was pretty excited about getting my hands on the LoZ plates. Both sets would've looked amazing on a black 3DS.

  • Picked up a few of the cheap Game guides today from my local stores.

    $1 Battlefield 4
    $1 Battlefield Hardline
    $1 Batman: Arkham Origins
    $1 Call of Duty: Ghosts
$1 Diablo III Reaper of Souls
    $1 Evolve
    $1 LEGO Jurassic World
    $1 The Order: 1886
    $1 Watch Dogs
    $4 Assassin's Creed Unity Collector's Edition
$4 Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Limited Edition
    $9 Grand Theft Auto V

    • that's so cheap, are they all ps4 games?

    • +1

Are you actually going to read these?

Because I used to be like you. Bought a ton of books because they were cheap. Now they're just cluttering up space because I didn't actually read them and probably never will. I've stopped doing that now.

      • +2
        • buying things cheap even though you don't need them
        • I've stopped doing that now

So why are you on OzBargain?

        • +1

I'm only buying cheap things I will actually use now as opposed to buying everything that's cheap and throwing it away a few years later.

  • Now I'm worried that my items that haven't shipped yet will be canceled? I don't want to pay $25 shipping for $4 worth of game guides.. I'll be demanding a full refund on the shipping if my game and loot get cancelled, or threatening ACCC action.

How do you know if it's cancelled? Mine just says still processing on 3 items, none of which are lited on the website anymore.

    • +2

You get an email titled "Hey [name], oh no something is missing…" which contains some message about searching high and low for the items you ordered instead of acknowledging that they screwed up.

      • Well I didn't get that, so there's hope I guess. See what happens come Monday!

    • +3

Just got the email this morning cancelling the two items that made me happy to pay $25 shipping. Now I want a full refund on the shipping or a full refund entirely.

I'm not paying $25 to get four $1 game guides delivered. That is CERTAINLY NOT a bargain, EB.

I have sent them an enquiry.

  • Managed to get 3 of 4 items shipped, not bad I guess. Didn't get the collector's edition The Sims 4 guide that I really wanted but meh, got refunded. Could have been worse tho, would hate to have had $7 shipping for only one $1 item or something. :|

  • They cancelled 4/6 items from my order and still charged the same postage. If I had reordered those 2 items the postage would have been less! I could have even gotten those 2 items from a local store and not paid any postage… Total scam.

  • Hmm, most of the games that I'm trying to buy aren't actually for purchase. I can add them to cart then they can't be picked up in store or delivered -_-

  • I visited 2 EB stores to see what 3DS cover plates they still sell. Neither of them stocked any. I get a feeling they cleared out all cover plates and won't stock anymore. Either EB doesn't consider them worth stocking anymore, Nintendo is discontinuing the cover plates, or Nintendo is discontinuing 3DS soon for Switch.

    • Target onlne are only selling the new coloured XLs and old stock charcoals at the moment, so I agree that the normal new is an endangered species. Shame as the normal new 3DS is my favourite.

The cover plates haven't been restocked for a long while except for new designs and multiple $10 sales thinned the numbers.

      • And they're expensive as hell to buy online. No way they're worth $30+ for two cheap pieces of plastic. Nintendo knows they've got us by the balls. If you don't get one, you have an ugly dull matte white plate which is intentionally ugly enough that you'll want to replace it. Even the DS Lite looked better.

    • The Caloundra store (QLD) had plenty of cover plates when I was there on Saturday.

  • All my items have shipped except the one I really want - fingers crossed!

  • No cheap Wii u games deer park or airport west

  • An EB Store rang my house and said to a family member while I was out that they couldn't fulfil part of my order.. then I got an email the next day they were sending the full order. Guess I'll wait and see.

  • +1

For those who were screwed over by the shipping, I contacted EB games and they refunded the shipping costs.

  • Is anyones still on "processing"

    • +1

7/8 items of my order are still processing, with 1 item shipped. I haven't heard anything from EB games yet.

    • Any changes? Most of my items are still on "processing"… but 2 have been shipped already.

      • Mine estimated on the 21st now.

  • Received two of the artbook. This is how the packed it https://imgur.com/a/mlFoj and 1 box for each book. Seems wasteful.

    • It seems to be a common complaint by some of the staff when they introduced the ship-from-store method. From what I've heard they have switched it off, probably to fix up a few of the issues with it.

Probably explains why some people's orders are taking longer than others (running out of boxes etc)

    • Yep, it is quite surprising when I received just the one item with that much packaging inside a box that size. It really does feel wasteful. The rest of the items received have been a proper size.

  • I order a multiple packs of the Animal Crossing cards for $2 each and Resident Evil Revelations 3ds for $4 and, in a shocking turn of events, whoever packed my order decided to throw in another pack of cards to compensate not being able to find the case for the game. Maybe the first time in history an EB employee has used some initiative!

  • Got a box from EB delivered today, here's some info that might be useful:

    • Only one of my games arrived so far (shipped from Gold Coast to my home in western Sydney). The rest are shipping from various stores/warehouses ( Wollongong, Muswellbrook)

    • You can login to the EB website and check the delivery status of each game on Order History under View Order - Track Order

    • Looks like "brand new" actually means "ex-display". My PS3 game had no shrink wrap, and some creasing with a bit of torn price sticker left on the front from where someone had peeled it off. The disc looked perfect, and I'm happy at the price I paid, but just be aware that it couldn't really pass for "new".

    • +1

Was it an old game? I would imagine that now PS3 games aren't put on shelves any more that it would still be classed as 'New' but may have been chucked out the back for storage.

I bought the MGSV Collector's Edition and it arrived today. It was 'sealed' but there were a few tears to the plastic - it would have been old display stock (as it's rare/hard to come by) so I accepted it would probably be in that condition.

I predict a lot of the older/rarer stock that will be sent out won't be in mint condition. Chances are it's been sitting on display/out the back for some time and no customers have noticed it.

I regularly check the EB Games website and a lot of the 'Find in Store' items were in small towns, their new ship-from-store method opened up a lot of that stock to the rest of Australia (I managed to snag a few things I'd been keeping an eye on for ages).

      • Ni no kuni PS3 essentials, so yeah, not the latest release.

        • +1

Great game! Can't wait for the second one to come out :D

It's a darn shame that some of the older stock can get a bit battered and worn down, especially when I'm sure we all look after our games incredibly well! I bought a copy of Black Ops III second-hand and the case was a bit shattered - looks so out of place on my shelf hahaha

    • Can't see each game delivery status, all i see is the order for the whole package for like 4 things.

And it just went from the 16th of november to the 21st..

    • Got the other 2 games I ordered today.

Once again the "new" one is an ex-display, with a slightly torn and tattered manual (!?). The other is a pre-owned in good condition (as advertised).

At least I got all of mine…

  • +1

Package arrived torn/opened with no game. All I have is a receipt which indicated what the game was (wouldn't have known otherwise). Pathetic.

Edit: Have been trying to call them the last half hour. All I get is the busy tone.

    • WTF.

How is that possible? Did they just leave it on your doorstep/mailbox, in that conspicuous box that screams "videogame inside"?

Mine came by Star Track Express and I had to sign for it…

      • I have it sent to my work and the receptionist may have signed for it. However she wouldn't have know what it was for, as it can just be a single sheet of office document. I mean she can ask why it was torn or opened but receptionists are busy with other things.

    • +1

Was the package like mine, saying in big letters to tear open for awesomeness.

  • +1

A third of mine has been refunded :/

    • +1

Yeah it definitely sucks. I'm expecting my last item to be refunded as well.

It looks like they tried the new delivery method, realised they stuffed up a bit and switched it off the next day to figure things out.

Hope you get some stuff you want still!

      • Thank you Kugz, this hasn't been handled very well but the other items have turned up. They came from all over the place is 5 different packages!
