    Do they do ducks?

    • +4

No only roosters, no hens either

      • I doubt they even have real chicken there

        jk

  • Haven't tried red rooster for ages. will consider it for dinner…

      • I do not get your point… I had lots of red roosters 10 years ago just because that was the only take away restaurant within my walking distance. Now I cannot even remember the difference between red chicken and coles' chooks. I may recall the taste tonight :)

        • My cooked chook rating system:

Proper charcoal chicken > Red Rooster > Coles > Kingsley's (Canberra chain) >>> Woolworths.

Woolies chooks never have enough seasoning and seem to always be soaking in their own juice which turns the bottom of the chook soggy. Coles chooks at least have decent seasoning to make up for it. I still think Red Rooster is the best flavoured of the easy-access chooks, but is also probably the saltiest… although, you can get it with chips!

        • @Ayedeevee: i can't believe you haven't brought KFC and oporto into this ranking!

  • Is there a delivery fee though or just $25 minimum spend?

    • +4

Just the $25 spend, however the prices are jacked right up compared to in store to include the delivery fee anyway.

      • so instore price is much much better?

        • Yes.

      • +2

Agree, but I guess they have to compensate somewhere

Aussie Favourite is $27.99 online, vs about $21 in-store (from memory). Maybe $8 more expensive online, but it is delivered, and you get a free chicken :)

Combine with the $5 new signup credit for almost free delivery Edit: Doesn't combine

Oh my gosh, never again…. I wish I had known beforehand

Also there is only one offer per account, but they keep sending the email to trick you like there's more than one offer.

        • Why the neg? You can't get the free chicken in-store

        • @Spackbace: I'm not neg-voting you, I'm neg-voting Red Rooster's offer. Next time I go past Red Rooster I'll check the instore price to see how two instore chickens compare to this $25 offer. Furthermore, you have to really search for the fine print on their website about the one promotion offer because the fine print is excluded from the email. Doing a further price calculation, the cost of roast chicken from the supermarket, or even roasting yourself to the flavour you desire; is even cheaper still. Therefore these reasons cause the Red Rooster offer to not be that good of value for money.

          Umm, no shit Sherlock?

What do you mean, 2? As I mentioned earlier, the Aussie Meal (or whatever it is) is $27 Delivered, or about $20-$22 in-store. This was acknowledged earlier. Delivery cost is in-built in the prices (like Domino's delivery prices), and then you get the chicken (worth about $12) for nothing.

Sounds more like you need to understand pricing before you buy something. Do you expect them to deliver for completely free?

        • @Spackbace: Since the cost is not lower than what we can do ourselves (for such easy effort), how can the offer be considered a good deal when the offer is mainly jacking up the price and hiding the costs for customers to compare. If we want to call something a metaphorical diamond, then the quality of something should be transparent like a diamond. Furthermore, diamonds aren't scratched by dud objects. That's real value.

        • @lovepeoplenotmoney:

You neg vote Red Rooster offering a free chicken, yet up vote Nando's offering a free large side, with a $19.45 chicken…

You realise how hilarious that is, right?

        • @Spackbace: Well if you can explain in full detail the reasons why that's hilarious, we can see if there's any holes in what you desire to insinuate

You mean for those who live outside central NSW?

    • seems cheaper. tell them to open a store in melbourne

    • +1

Oh went to eljannah last week…. WAYYYYY too salty! Might as well buy a kilo of salt and eat it…. horrible…

  • +1

    Dang no delivery for me.

  • Camel burger anyone?

    • horse burger is nice too

    • I had a camel burger a couple of weeks ago. Just tasted like beef. Probably was beef.

  • Not bad. The prices are higher than instore, and there is no separate delivery fee. And $25 is the minimum spend anyways, so it makes sense just to hit the $25 mark.

  • Damn it!

Sorry we are currently unable to deliver in your area

  • +1

Sweet. Dinner (and lunch tomorrow) sorted. Used Cashrewards + also used Red Royalty dollars to reduce it to $25. Thanks heaps!!

    how good are rooster rolls

  • Ordered, first time having red rooster so expectations starting out low

    • +4

Nothing wrong with Red Rooter. They lost their way 10 years ago, but quality is finally back.

Certainly better my local CC, it used to be owned by Greek gentleman, who marinated and seasoned the chickens to perfection. The new owners, however are cutting corners everywhere.

      • Chickens are supplied by Steggles, the staff only add seasoning salt so might as well buy roast chickens from the supermarket and add your own salt or just buy the cut of chicken you want and put your own marinade to roast yourself

  • +5

Don't forget cashback on pricepal or cashrewards

  • cant see the price in menu. annoying

    • Apparently the prices are cheaper instore, even cheaper to buy from the supermarket, even cheaper still to cook yourself.

Red loyalty sounds like a communist club.

Yep… they didn't read the order correctly.

    • wow big mix up. wat happened in the end?

      • All good… New delivery at the correct time. Delivery guy is the store owner (I think).

  • +3
