Can't believe I missed that firesale
They are a handy little unit. I had to hunt those down. A nice guy at my local OW checked and had found a couple left at an Altona store.
I had a rma Kingston I got from years back put it to use in an external caddy, the small size wasn't worth it for an os drive but am super happy with the performance I run vms of it externally makes me want to throw away all my usb drives because they are so dam slow
You can buy it for $233 locally if you have use of a $100 voucher

No, you can buy $433 worth of goods for $333 which is a different value proposition.
No, not for a very specific buying scenario which I alluded to.
Otherwise, yes.
You must spend $333. In addition to this, you will get $100 worth of free goods. The total value of your goods is now $433 and your spend is $333. That is not the same as getting $333 worth of goods and spending $233 which is the only way your scenario makes sense.
Exactly
IF you want the T3 for $233 with local warranty.
AND
You are about to spend $100 on something else, THEN this is a bargain.
Otherwise, not so much.
I'm still confused by what you are trying to say. Under no scenario - even if you are about to spend $100 on something else - is there a T3 with local warranty for $233. The amount of the discount is 100/433 = 23.09%. Therefore the cost of the eBay T3 with discount is $256.09, assuming you plan to make full use of the voucher.
Correct me if I am wrong
You spend $333 and get a T3 500GB drive delivered.
They give you a $100 voucher FREE.
You spend the $100 on something you would have bought anyway. This is key.
You therefore have, for all intents and purposes, purchased the T3 for $233 locally with local warranty.
Where do you get $433? You never spend more than $333 in my limited senario.
This comes up each time there's an eBay voucher offer. You are making at least two purchases in total and the discount/voucher is being applied to the second. Breaking it down:
You purchase a T3 500GB drive for $333
You purchase additional goods for $100
eBay gives you $100 back
Total purchases $433
Total discounts -$100
Money spent $333
Value of discount is 100/433 = 23.09%.
OK. I see how you might be imagining this. Mentally shifting all the discount onto only one of the purchases even though in reality it applies to the total purchases. It's not how I see it but I accept we can see this differently :)
No
You purchase a T3 500GB drive for $333
You purchase $100 of additional goods for $0 with a voucher
There is no "Mentally shifting". I described the limited scenario where the deal is good.
If you just want the drive then no, the deal is no good.
It is very simple.
I wasn't clear - I was trying to say that I agree with you. I was wrong to say it wasn't a valid way of looking at it.
OK sorry
You can now mentally shift and pay "$208" though.

It's been around this price for a little while, I've been waiting for it to drop back down to the ~$150 US price like it was in June - maybe at the Black Friday sales next month?
Same!
Was a good deal on the similar model T1 at Officeworks clearance
