Hello OzBargainers!

I've been trying my best to bring you the cheapest prices on Xiaomi products from the most reliable supplier I could find, as an Australian consumer.
I've tested them all multiple times as a normal customer because I'm quite the tech-junkie and iBuyGou honestly had the best customer service of the lot - I don't want to get into too much detail or badmouth any of the other suppliers here but trust me these guys were the most accommodating to the customer from my personal experience and had by far the best shipping (3-6 days expedited with DHL).
Just thought I'd also mention that I don't actually work for these guys (I really am just a normal Sydneysider) but I've built a good relationship with them and I'm just looking to spread the love. Previously these guys had a reputation for having first class customer service, but higher prices - I'm trying to change that and bring them to a more competitive level for the OzBargain community; all of these deals are OzBargain exclusives, so feel free to leave feedback.
I'll be posting a couple of deals today, so please look out for the others!

All Xiaomi phones come with 1 year warranty standard, but you can also purchase an extra year for $5 USD (~AU$6.60).

  • So do you have another account on OzBargain? ;)

    • Not any more. I used to but stopped posting and you're not allowed more than one account these days ;)

      • I only ask because you're not the first to do it. Now the mystery deepens.

        • Ahh fair enough, I'm honestly not doing anything dodgy lol
Just trying to help out the community…

        • +1

@IBG-Sydney: can you get us a deal on the xiao mi note 3 pro international edition with band 28 32gb edition?

        • @furythree:
I'll see what I can do and I'll get back to you :)

  • Just had a look on aliexpress, seems like there's been a drop in price across mi5 range

    Dreami Store
Xiaomi Mi5 64gb - ALL COLOURS US $317.48 USD inc DHL delivery

    Hong Kong Goldway
Xiaomi Mi5 64gb - gold* $318.27 USD inc DHL delivery
*White is only $315.27 USD with DHL delivery

    • Fair enough and thanks for letting me know. Though I have used both of those suppliers before and trust me you'll have a much friendlier experience should you have any issues with the phone when using iBuyGou.. They really do try to keep you happy, whilst the AliExpress stores are generally more of a gamble. You might get the product issue free, but then again you might not.. Nonetheless, I'll see if there's anything I can do

      • Please also keep in mind that you can get 2 years warranty from iBuyGou which has no strings attached whilst the AliExpress stores only have one year warranty IF you keep their custom dodgy firmware on the phone which doesn't allow you to update either. Please also note that their delivery is slower, despite being DHL it still isn't expedited. (8-16 days compared to 3-6 days).

        • I've spoken to my contact within the company and if anyone would like to further discuss the prices or any of these deals - for more personalised options, feel free to email [email protected]
She's a really lovely person and I'm sure she'll be able to work something out for you ;)

        • 2 years if you buy the additional year warranty which costs around 5 to 6 dollars.

        • @angelkulit025: Which is still better than one year of "Maybe warranty" at the cost of not being able to update your phone for that period. No security updates, no operating system updates, nothing.. Not to mention the fact that a number of these custom roms have been found to already have malware pre-installed.

        • 2 years warranty from iBuyGou which has no strings attached

If you could throw in additional year warranty for free, it could help sway people's decisions towards iBuyGou

IF you keep their custom dodgy firmware

Both of those stores I posted are highly rated on both here and aliexpress and have confirmation from buyers that it comes official Global ROM with Google Play. Seller also specifies it in their store
          https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Original-Xiaomi-Mi5-M5-Mobil…

Based on reviews from iBuyGou, looks like the phone will NOT have Google Play Service and you will need to work out how to install it yourself. Can you confirm this?

OP confirmed it does come with Google Play Service further down

        • @CodeXD: They now pre-install the global official firmware for the phone, which automatically includes google play services. The only scenario that they don't do this is when a phone doesn't already have an official global firmware (they never install custom firmware).

        • @IBG-Sydney: In the scenario where you don't already have google play services, you can install it directly from xiaomi's app store.

My mistake, these seller's previously had a reputation for providing dodgy roms (not even that long ago, perhaps a few months ago)
It was also mentioned in the sellers disclaimer:
"we will open the original box to check the phone and install Multi-language ROM and Google play store,If you have special requests about the original box, please leave us a message. And Many Multi-language ROM not support OTA Update. The custom rom may not perfect, translation may does not cover all the menus, pls understand. We may update the custom ROM,so the OS version may different as the screenshots."
          - Taken directly from HK Goldway's ad.

"1. Please do not change your phone's software and firmware, otherwise, we will not take any responsibility.
          2. It has multi-language, but does not include all languages, at least it has English.
          7. The firmware might be with bugs, please understand this situation, especially for the new model!"
          - Taken directly from Dreami's ad.

Just going off reputation here and their current ads..

        • @IBG-Sydney:

If you could throw in additional year warranty for free, it could help sway people's decisions towards iBuyGou

I personally can't add that in, but I'm sure if you shoot Mia an email at [email protected] she'll be more than happy to help you out.
As I mentioned above, she's really nice and always looking to take care of their customers.

  • how long if not DHL shipping?

    • 10-15days and its US$13 (~AU$17.15)

  • Anything on the Mi5S rep?

    • Yeah, I'll post one up as soon as the site allows me to :)
Limit of 1 deal post per hour
It should be around US$356.99 (AU$471.20) for 64GB - any colour
      Coupon: MI5S64

      $397.99 (AU$525.35) for 128GB - any colour
      Coupon: 5S128

      • For the Mi5 (not the Mi5S), does it come with Google Play installed rep?

        • EDIT: Sorry I've been informed that they do in-fact come with the Google Play services installed. They use the official global rom, not a custom dodgy one like most other stores do. You can also ask for them to leave the original firmware on the phone if you would prefer your phone to be completely untouched.

      • I can't post this up until tomorrow, limit of one per 24hrs for associates :(

  • +2

Tried to apply mi532g for the Mi532GB white from your link. However coupon wont apply. Gives some silly error message.
Tried it for the more expensive coloured version and the code applies fine.
Am I missing something? I am feeling a bit stupid today although some would argue thats normal for me.

    • Please try using the coupon code: mi532w
I'm updating the original post to include this.
Thanks for letting me know, not sure what happened with the first one.

  • I bought a second hand 64gb one over the weekend. Can't wait for it to arrive now! Hopefully tomorrow!

    • Where did you buy it second hand?

      • Got it off Gumtree for $300, which I think is a pretty good deal!

  • i brought mine for about 320 AUD, excellent phone once I load the thing with the international ROM but it doesnt have global search feature for reason unknown.
My Biggest complain for it is the lack of SD card. 32GB is not enough for majority of people out there. Next complains is the RAM, thanks to Android codes, now 3GB ram is bare minimum.. I barely get 1.3G free off the Mi5, so pixel ship with 4GB ram from 7.0 on, all androids require 3GB to run? Where as Windows runs great on 4GB, can work in 2GB if u do one thing a time… Why on earth Android needs to eat close to 2G ram at boot?
Battery life is fairly good, my usage last 3 and a half day, screen is very good, a class better than the Huawei honor 6 screen.
looks better than the metal 5s… IMO, I will pick Glass black over the black frame white/gold version :p

  • Hi there,

Tried using your code to get the Mi5 64G version and it keeps saying "Sorry total charge has to be more than $334". The code I tried was mi564g

    • Sorry about the delayed reply, i haven't had access to a computer lately.
It looks like you were trying to order the White one? The reason for this issue is there is currently a flash sale on the white one now which has messed with this coupon on their back-end. My contact is currently creating a new coupon for each colour to fix this issue. Sorry about the inconvenience.

  • G'day mate
I tried using the code mi564g to order the black 64gb mi5 but it gave an error message. Something along the lines of "code can only be applied to" but didn't say what.

I'd also be interested in bundling a case and tempered glass screen protector. Is that something you can help with?

    • Yeah sorry about that, they're having some technical issues with the codes for the 64gb model today - I'll update the post with new codes later tonight. Sorry about the inconvenience.
As for bundling, if you shoot an email over to Mia at [email protected] I'm sure she'll be able to work out something a bit better for you, sorry I don't have access to customise the deals.

  • Hi, tried applying the coupon for the black xiaomi mi5 32gb. Keeps giving me the error "this coupon can only be applied for". Tried the 64gb and the white coupon, none of them work.
