Sony MDR1RNCMK2 Noise Cancelling Headphones $250.78 Refurbished + Free Shipping @ Sony Store eBay

60
C20TEC

These headphones are one of the best headphones I've used for a long time. Very comfortable for long hours of usage. These are refurbished and postage is free across Australia. I grabbed another pair for keeps sake. This deal is not as good as the HN deal long ago, but I've rarely seen a deal on them.

No offence intended whatsoever as I have zero knowledge of these headphones, but "These headphones are one of the best headphones I've used for a long time" inspires zero confidence.

None taken. I spent time researching what I wanted out of over ear headphones and I chose comfort over noise cancelling. I've tried the Bose QC lineup as well but they broke on me twice in a year, although Bose replaced the cuffs both times. You can of course read up on them like here:

But the link you posted is for the MDR-1A, which is an upgrade over the MDR-1R, the refurbished model you posted here.

I have and love these headphones… for what it's worth…

Thanks for posting but the price is still a bit too much for refurbished, isn't it?

I agree. I bought them originally 2 years ago from USA during Black Friday around $200 mark. Everybody has their choice.

The Bose QC25 is better, but it's more expensive as well. Bought both but ended up returning this.

  • Even Bose soundtrue 2 are great but there not noise cancelling, comfy as hell and just over $200.

Why would anyone pay $313+ for a 3 year old refurbished headphones? It maybe worth $150 IMO.
Date first available at Amazon.com on October 7, 2013.

Sony has a tendency to make their stuff pricey for some reason. Perhaps in a refurbished state, they should be cheaper but I like them better than many ANC headphones out there.

  • Don;t want to start a forum thread. Anyone has the MDR1ADAC and can comment on them? Cost pretty much the same but seem to better a better option for my needs.

    • When I was buying it for the first time, I tested both the MDR1R and MDR1A later on. The MDR1A is pretty good. The DAC version is probably a variant with built in DAC, so they might sound better. I don't think these headphones are going anywhere for now, you can go into your local jb hifi and try these. They keep stock.

    • I didn't read through the Head-Fi thread but you can have a go at it here: http://www.head-fi.org/t/733238/awesome-or-gimmick-sonys-mdr…

Check your local Harvey Norman, to see if they have some stock of these. You can negotiate them cheaper than $250. And thats for a new pair.

    • If anybody negotiates them cheaper than $250, do post here.

  • For those wondering about MDR-1A and MDR-1R: http://www.head-fi.org/t/733489/sony-mdr-1a-sonys-latest-upd…

  • I imagine Sony get them made for no more than $20 per pair.
