More price drops @ BL Ebay site :)
Sony Xperia M5 $279.20
Samsung UA60KU6000W 60" UHD SMart LED TV $1599
Samsung UA55KU7000W 55" UHD SMart LED TV $1359
LG 60UH850T 60" UHD HDR SMART DOLBY VISION TV $2399
GSM arena says 3GB ram on this model. Sounds like good specs. Any reason not to bite at this price point?
Mediatek GPU's are always fairly weak in comparison to the CPU spec. If you're gonna be doing any sort of gaming probably better to wait for another phone.
2 people know bought these phones on my recommendation when they were 299 during the Sony sale a while back. 2 things that have come up:
-no g sensor, not an issue for 99 percent of people but there's no spatiality if you are using cardboard vr
-one friend had an issue where the phone would spontaneously switch off. It turned out to be a known issue related to simultaneous use of 900mhz 2g band and sometging else. Switching that off in the settings has pretty much fixed the problem. Due to the nature of this issue I think it only happens on Optus.
Apart from that, it's basically on par in most ways with my z5, and half the price. No one is complaining. I probably get twice as many updates as them but they are still on the latest Android so not a big deal
This is the phone I would have gotten instead of the Z5 however it was too expensive at the time (in December).
So tempting for the 60"
The link for the M5 states in-store pickup only …:-/
It's been updated to
"Item location: Sydney, NSW, Australia
Posting to: Australia
Excludes: QLD Regional, SA Regional, VIC Regional, WA Regional, WA Remote, PO Box"
So maybe NT is okay? LOL
Anyways, out of stock so I guess I saved $279…
EDIT: out of stock after selling 5??!?
Savings here to then LOL - tho if I never see "What's new" pop it's unwelcome spammy little sony presence again, it'll be to soon. Nice phone for the bucks but…
In-store pickup only???
Don't think the Xperia m5 is going to get Android 7.0 nougat. http://blogs.sonymobile.com/2016/08/23/sony-xperia-and-andro…
I can't see why they would support the z3 but not the m5? That would be quite disgraceful seeing as the m5 shipped with v5. 2 updates is the unwritten law isn't it?
The thing is that the 'unwritten law' expectation, may not hold any more as Sony seem to be shifting from previous practices. If an update does come, it will be very late in coming after the first few updates have rolled out, and then the phone will be so old as for Sony to feel that it is not an appropriate use of resources, when it is meant to be focussing on android 8.
I'd be keen on the 60" Sammy if the deal was avail in Brissy
I do not need to replace my 42" plasma pana made in japan
I have told myself that x100 times today.
Best to wait for OLED to come down in price for it to be a true upgrade.
How is this brand? Has anyone used? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Changhong-LED40D2200-40-FHD-L…
Thanks, Trent.
