  • Bought one from Sydney City store by using DJ e-gift cards. Small unit but quite powerful.

    • This is 2nd one I bought for a family member. I have my v6 animal for over 1 year now paid $400.

  • Get 2 of these or a v8 hmmm

    • I have a V6 myself and I love it but from what I can see the V8 directly addresses the most annoying things about the V6 (increased bin capacity, increased battery life, improved bin emptying process).

  • +1

I would spend the extra and get the fluffy model.

The head on the regual V6 & animal is crap. It can't pick up anything significant.

    • +2

I disagree.. respectfully. I pulled the trigger on this yesterday. Regret that I didn't do it sooner. So much easier than lugging my full sized dyson around. Did my whole flat on normal setting. Switched to max to do carpeted areas. Got bored before the battery went flat.

      • have you tried to pick up anything like cereal or little pebbles?

Don't get me wrong. It's great for picking up dust and dog hair but for more 'bulky' items it just struggles.

They are a massive time saver though to do a quick clean.

        • The unit would have the power, but the spinning head might be a hindrance to those types of items. a hard floor tool would be better. I wonder if they are interchangeable.

  • Excellent little vacuum and great price!

sub $300 if you can get your hands on some 10% DJ eGift cards, then combine with CR

  • +1

$258 for a DC58, thanks! Perfect since I want to get into Uber. Plus I walk through DJ's every day as a shortcut and I never buy anything :P

    • DC58 is $249 at Myer , in their catalogue

      • DC58 is currently $249 at DJ

    • Oops guys! Mea Culpa! Just checked my receipts and it is $249. Not sure where that extra $9 came from. Probably from the lunch I buy every time I go to the shopping centre :P

  • Lucky I had like 300 on gift cards and amex DJ welcome offer spend 40 get 20 and CR…
pretty much bought a V6 for 280 lol.

    • I looked at the gift card as well, but I saw this terms and conditions under the DJ cashrewards website…

"Rewards will not be paid when you purchase a Gift Card/s. Rewards will not be paid at all on any purchase when a Gift Card/s is used as full or part payment of a purchase."

So looks like it's either the gift card discount / cashrewards

      • I bought from DJ online 5 times, 4 times I get CR. (All paid through egift) The only one thats declined was because I bought Channel.
Oh btw I might be using TRS as Im buying it for my dad overseas so another 35 off lol.

        • you gonna claim TRS on Dyson V6?? take it with your cabin baggage?

        • @carlJack: You don't have to carry it with you if the airline doesn't allow it. Dunno how it works in practice though.

        • @eug: As far as i know you have to show the item

        • +2

          @carlJack: From https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Ente/Tour/Are-you-a-traveller

Purchases are eligible for refunds if:
          […..]
You wear or carry the goods (unless they are liquids, gels or aerosols or oversized or bulky goods which the airline require to be checked in) as hand luggage aboard the aircraft or ship as you leave Australia, or check the goods in with your luggage after they have been verified by an officer at a Client Services counter.

        • @eug: "check the goods in with your luggage after they have been verified by an officer at a Client Services counter". Cool… good to know

        • +1

@carlJack: Yeh theres two places for TRS, ones before checking in luggages, which is downstairs TRS office.Another one is inside departure and usually you see a long line waiting so its better to install the TRS app on phone to get the QR code ready. :p

        • @MatthewSoul: Last time I had that app. It was so much easier for me.But few people in front of me didnt have that. They had like 15 items each to show. They took a long time.I almost missed my flight. Good to know that there will be a TRS officer before checkin. Thinking of taking some things this time.

  • Where do you get one of these gift cards?

    • Just purchased ones through entertainment book. Say it's can take up to 2 business day to process.

Hope it's still available when my gift card arrives

  • Are these considerably better than the DC45?

    • v6 is new model of DC45 but v8 is the latest model.

      • +2

V6 is new model of dc59. Dc45 is different smaller line.

  • How long it last per charge? Don't want to be like those cheap Goffrey's ones which last 3 mins …

    • They last 20 minutes.

    • 27 min normal 5 turbo mode

    • if you use the turbo mode you can surprisingly get a lot of cleaning done.
The power behind it combined with the mobility makes it so much quicker.
although i really only use the turbo mode when there is a lot of cat fur clumps.

  • Does the filter fall out easily like on the DC59 I had.

  • I have a 2 bed 2 bath apartment, I was looking at getting one of these. Its mainly hard floors throughout except the bedrooms am I right in thinking this is exactly what these were invented for?

    • Yup! Perfect. I don't use my mains vac anymore.

      • I have a big dyson with a motorised head etc, I think I will keep that for doing the carpet areas like once a month or less. but for running around the hardsurfaces the big one is a right pita. I think I have decided

  • Is this cheapest they have ever been?

    • Nah, they were $319.20 before.

  • The Cashreward David Jones page says "Rewards will not be paid in conjunction with any offer, voucher or discount code unless listed on this page or with any other discounts such as staff or student discount"

So is this an "offer" since marked down by 50% to RRP i.e. no cashreward payable? Anyone with experience in this?

    • +1

Just do it with giftcard and cr will still pay you 2-3 months after, the gift card is 10% off anyway which is higher and quicker than cr so I dont see why not try it?

      • Because I'm not an Entertainment Book member and need to pay $65 to get it hence more interested in the CR 7% cashback offer, unless there is somewhere else to get 10% off DJ gift cards?

      • Just to clarify I wasn't trying to be rude and I think your suggestion is very sound if one is an Entertainment Book member.

        • From my experience, I bought from DJ online 5 times, 4 times I get CR. (All paid through egift) The only one thats declined was because I bought Chanel.

  • I just saw that I have Harvey Norman Amex deal, spend $300 get $50!! Going to get them to price match this

  • Thanks OP! Been looking for one of these

  • Would the new V6 Slim http://shop.dyson.com.au/vacuum-cleaners/handstick/dyson-v6-… be a better unit ($399 less 15%)?

    • It's exactly the same product, but the head is smaller similar to DC45.
