Accor is offering 50% off hotels around the world. Mostly Mercure Hotels from what I have seen.

    Contrast to the perception, there is no such thing as discounter. Websites like Wotif do not and cannot create discount, all promos and discount are provided by the hotel. The website is more like shelves in a shop.

    Big hotel chain like Accor has a very strict rate parity policy, i.e. ensuring rates are the same on all online channels, so more than likely, you will see the same rate on any other websites.

  Just tried it on a hotel near Toronto:
  Novotel Hotel Toronto Mississauga, Aug 7-8

  $114.51 AUD Cheapest on the web, Hotels.com via [Hotelscombined]

  vs.

  $105.39 AUD Accor 50% off sale,

  Actual savings is 8%. Not bad but definitely not 50%.

  I also just tried it on Mercure Salzburg Kapuzinerberg (Austria) for 27th July.

  $92.62 AUD cheapest on the web via Hotels Combined.

  vs

  $72.15 AUD Accor 50% off sale.

  Actual savings = 22% which is better than neil's outcome but still not 50%. Maybe they forgot the "up to" part of "50% off"???

    Novotel Wien City (Austria) for 27th July is $143.27 AUD (EasytoBook via HotelsCombined) vs $86.73 AUD Accor 50% off sale.

    Actual savings = 39%

    Very healthy savings and I'd be very happy with that if I required the discount that night! Looks like a bit of pot luck on getting hotels for specific rates on specific dates though.

    That's why I always book a cancelable rate unless it's a sale rate like this one!
