  • It looks like a generic link but in the T&Cs it says:
"How to Participate: To participate in the ALL Gold Fast Track Offer, you must during the Promotional Period… register for the ALL Gold Fast Track Offer using the dedicated registration page received by personal invitation from NAB"
    and
"You must not share the URL for the dedicated registration page for the ALL Gold Fast Track Offer sent to you – if you do so, you or any person to whom you share the URL will not be eligible for the ALL Gold Fast Track Offer."
Has anyone had issues with this before?

I'm ALL platinum after maybe 15 nights last year after the fast track and to be honest there's really not many useful perks especially on gold. My late checkin/checkout success rate is 0/3 and never been upgraded. The suite night x2 with platinum is nice I suppose but unless you can line it up with planned travel it's nothing to write home about.

    • +3

You don’t consider the free breakfast useful?

      • +2

only on platinum which is a lot more effort to achieve than gold, and only asia pacific

    • +2

I'm ALL gold (not from this deal but via the ALL Plus IBIS card). I've got upgrades and late check out in Malaysia most times. Maybe I got lucky?

      • +1

that's good to hear, they usually say pending availability so I may have just been unlucky with when/where I stayed

    • I find the automatic 1 room level upgrade useful (got a higher level room in Singapore but had to push - but given terms and conditions they seemed compelled to give me).

For plat the free breakfast at some hotels is nice. Also used the fast track to get to plat last year.

      • +1

the club lounge access is nice but not many Sofitels with lounges around

        • +1

Some hotels give free breakfast even without lounge.

          Mercure (had to push)
          Ibis (automatic)
Art Series - not auto and I didnt have time anyway

          • @AusGP: you should get breakfast everywhere with plat (even ibis but I'd probably stay away from their food anyway), the club lounges are nice for a quieter area usually with views, and canapes / afternoon tea and drinks on tap throughout the day

          • @AusGP: A bit pissed you have to push for upgrades at Mercure. Will note that next time

    • +8

You've probably been upgraded almost every time but didn't notice. It's only an upgrade on the same room type which means you get the beach view instead of the city view, not that you get a 2 bedroom apartment when you only booked a 1 bedroom apartment, not as amazing as you think haha.

    • Nah I only did not get an upgrade 1 time when I was staying in Launceston Mercure out of about 12 times covering various Asia pacific/Aus Accor hotels past two years.

Usually it's only one room level up ie slightly larger room or one with a view

They are usually pretty good and I never needed to ask when booking

I sometimes even gets occasionally upgrades when I am only silver via Accor Plus in the past

    • +1

I think you're a little unlucky. I've been upgraded everytime, had a bottle of wine in my room on and 20 bucks worth of snacks when I stayed at an Ibis in London, and my wife and I recently got a huge upgrade to from a Mountainside room to a Lakeside view at the Lake Louise Fairmont! This is with Gold BTW.

    • sometimes we need a full context to understand more your success rate. You cant late checkin/checkout can be, from my exp, it's during peak season and they have all the rooms booked so even myself(GOLD) wanna pay for late checkout, they still refused to do so due to other bookings.

    • I almost always get upgraded, around 80% success rate

Depends on the hotel and doesn’t hurt to ask on check in

  • +2

Status is useful, but only if you're happy to ask for your perks.

For those who are introverted, unfortunately don't expect that the system will generate all these perks for you.

I've found emailing a week in advance and checking if your gold status is noted in your stay triggers them to put manual notes to achieve the upgrades etc.

Be prepared to throw it in casual conversation when checking in to ensure the best chance of getting all your perks.

The welcome drink is automatically done in the app but i imagine most people with gold are seeking room upgrades.

Late checkout is probably done in priority of
    1. Room availability
    2. Status

So its only useful when the hotel doesnt have a lot of turnover on the day you check out.

    • that's probably where I went wrong!

    • From my experience
my membership status were always being notices when I check in (without needed to email the hotel in advance)
this includes getting welcome drink vouchers in some hotels where they dont use the app to redeem
and getting a "thankyou" card with some snacks (eg. chocolates, fruit platter etc) in my room

However, room upgrades does not always happens, and depends on availability

In regards to late checkout, never have a problem to check out at 12pm, but seldom able to get later than that

      • Room upgrades when unavailable should still provide you with better room in the sense of either higher floor, better view, or similar room but better configuration (eg: double bed becomes superior King). Somehow I learned you sort of have to gentle insist.

Late checkout, I had one leaving at 3pm but ONLY for one room (if you book two rooms)

Ok so how does this track?

Should I pay with a NAB rewards signature card?
Or can anybody with this link just register for this offer with their ALL account and then get gold status after one stay irrespective of which card they pay with? Even if they are not a NAB rewards signature card holder?

  • +1

Just a heads up the NAB Rewards Signature doesn't have a sign up bonus right now.
I'm planning to do one night in a local Accor to activate Accor Gold for an upcoming overseas trip where we have a few Accor bookings and need a late checkout.
I ended up applying for the NAB Rewards Platinum to get the sign up bonus, but I specified a 15k credit limit so that I will be able to hopefully transfer my card over to NAB Signature Rewards once my bonus points land. I think you need to hold the card for 30 days before switching products which should be fine anyway since I'm waiting for my points.

    • +1

So do you actually need to need a NAB cc to enrol in this?

    • An alternative would be to sign up for Qantas Signature, then transfer when bonus points are received.

  • +2

The key bit here is "enrolled in the Auto Redemption of NAB Reward Points to ALL – Accor Live Limitless Reward points."

I'm not sure what else you can do with NAB Reward Points … but as a general rule, moving reward points into airline frequent flyer programmes and then redeeming business class flights is the best use of points.

Getting points from the Accor programme out to other airline programmes ends up losing like half the points compared to going direct into the airline programme.

You'd need to spend some time doing the maths on whether you're actually getting sufficient return on this compared to just buying an Accor Plus membership each year (factoring in flight redemptions as well as hotel benefits).

    • +2

Another option is to try not to spend much on the card while you are auto transferring to Accor, just enough to get the fast track email, book and stay the one night and activate Gold status, and then switch off the auto transfer :)

      • Yeah that might work.

Also, redemption rates from relevant websites:

        NAB Rewards Points conversion rates:

Velocity Frequent Flyer 3,000 NAB Rewards Points = 1,500 Velocity Points
Accor Live Limitless (ALL) 3,000 NAB Rewards Points = 500 ALL Reward points
Singapore Airline KrisFlyer Miles 3,000 NAB Rewards Points = 1,000 KrisFlyer miles

Accor Live Limitless (ALL) Reward Points conversion rates:

Velocity Frequent Flyer 4,000 ALL Points = 4,000 Velocity Points
Singapore Airline KrisFlyer Miles 2,000 ALL Points = 1,000 KrisFlyer miles

So it's actually worse than I thought. Velocity via ALL = 1/3 the points. KrisFlyer via ALL = 1/4 the points.

        • Is there a minimum points balance for the auto transfer to Accor? I checked NAB rewards and doesn't seem to have a minimum. Transfers every week too.

Set up auto-redemption by entering your ALL-Accor Live Limitless Reward membership number below. We will transfer your NAB Rewards Points balance to Accor every week at the rate of 1 ALL - Accor Live Limitless Reward point (ALL Reward point) for every 6 NAB Rewards Points.

IMPORTANT: The ALL - Accor Live Limitless membership account must belong to, and have the same membership name, as the primary cardholder on the NAB Rewards account for the transfer to be successful. Once the NAB Rewards Points have been redeemed for ALL Reward points, they are governed by the ALL - Accor Live Limitless programme terms and conditions and cannot be reversed. Transferred ALL Reward points and bonus ALL Reward points will be available in your ALL - Accor Live Limitless account within 10 business days. ALL – Accor Live Limitless Terms and Conditions apply.

  • So this won't work with the NAB rewards qantas card?

    • You'd need to call NAB and ask to switch products. Qantas are a bit anally rententive when it comes to credit cards and redeeming miles. They typically insist on their own product (as they like to lock you in) whereas a bunch of other airlines are happy to work with bank based rewards programmes that you can then use to redeem miles with multiple different airlines.

  • According to last year similar promo with qantas and Accor, it should give you 30 status nights after successfully fulfil the requirement, which should be able to stack with the Accor plus 20 status nights, and fast track to achieve Accor Platinum (60 status nights required)

  • What’s gold when everyone’s gold?

    • +2

Platinum is where the real fun is I think

      • I thought Diamond was.

        • +1

Get to Limitless and the real fun is there,

Was invited to Oppenheimer IMAX in Melbourne.

          • @AircraftFreight: How does one even get that status?

            • @nightelves: Usually 5+ consecutive years of Diamond (or Platinum/Diamond if carried over from Le Club) and with extra spending and you will get the invitation.
For myself, being repositioned across Perth, Canberra and Sydney I spend usually 100ish nights p.a at Accor properties.

(Currently writing this from the Peppers Hotel in Canberra hah)

              • +1

@AircraftFreight: Wouldn’t you rather go for something like a Hilton or Marriott which has lifetime Platinum status instead?

                • @nightelves: I would but company policy dictates where I can go, for Domestic hotels I am locked into Accor where we have a corporate rate. When travelling International I get a choice from a wider range including IHG, Marriot or Hilton. I am currently Hilton Diamond as well as IHG One Rewards Platinum Elite which were derived from my Virgin Australia Platinum Status and my Amex card.

              • @AircraftFreight: that's a lot of nights for questionable perks, you're basically spending a third of the year in their hotels..has anybody done a comparison of HHonors vs MB vs ALL vs IHG etc in terms of status perks?

                • @May4th: This would be good if anyone has done the comparison.

  • ive got a trip coming up but i suspect they only recognise it after the booking ends. then i dont know if ill be travelling much rest of the year. i wonder what the cheapest option to get 1 night in a property is around australia..

    • There's some ibis for around $70 a night

  • Anyone know if this gives status nights or something else? I made platinum last year by a fluke combination of promotions and 10 nights and it would be great to have it for next year. I haven't used it yet this year, but free breakfasts sound attractive
