  • How much is the ALDI Workzone normally ?

  • Is there a reason to but this over a Karcher or Gerni that have been on sale at Bunnings/Masters on and off?

    • +1

Yes, change of heart returns. You buy and try and if you don't like it you return it and buy a Karcher or Gerni. Which in this price class very likely are not as good as this one.

  • Anyone have used this before is this worth compare to Karcher /Gerni ?

  • Got one 2 years ago for about $100. Only needed to use it about 4 times a year and no problems. Great value for money.

  • +1

i have one, bloody thing keeps working, was hoping to return it by now.

  • If it works as rated, this is fantastic value for the amount of power.

  • How does it compare to the Ryobi?

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-2000psi-pressure-washer_p6…

Extra 1 year warranty (1 year @ Aldi) and accessories with Ryobi. (vs 29 AUD for each attachment)

  • I got one of these and the hose developed a leaky wear spot after about a year and a half, probably due to rubbing on the ground or something similar. Fine. I wanted to buy a replacement hose but repeated calls to their service number were unanswered and I never got a return call. I ended up binning the thing for lack of a replacement hose. Never again.

    • You can get spare hoses for almost all pressure washers from Bunnings. They are a generic brand, not just Karcher, etc.

      • That wasn't my experience. I tried and found no locally available suitable replacement for the Aldi one except from specialty shops asking well over $100.

        • All high pressure hoses from retails cost that kind of money.

Almost all of them use standard fixings at both ends. The Karchers don't, but there are cloned hoses for those on Ebay etc.

The other way is to take it to a hydraulic repair place, and they can crimp the existing (non-standard) ends back onto a new hose. Also consider getting a sock for the hose to minimise the abrasive effect.

  • I went to buy one of those lazer guided saws that Aldi Marion had Front Page catalog advertised 2 weeks or so ago.
10 minutes after opening they had none left. 10 minutes after opening no one had one in their trolley or out in the carpark.
What do they call "in stock?" The 4 or 5 they have out the back that the staff probably buy?
The Aisle staff woman said "they're all gone", while the woman on the checkout said "What saws? Haven't seen one."
No rainchecks but, hey, they got you into their store.
Sorry Aldi, once bitten, twice shy!

  • 30% more power than this Masters Cleanforce model for same price

DOH - That is a NEGATIVE - it uses 30% more power

That's like saying "Car A uses 30% more petrol than Car B for the same price".

PSI is not "power" either, it's pressure.

What separates good from bad with these things is the FLOW as well as pressure.

For example, you can get 1800 PSI from a tiny nozzle shooting a 1mm diameter dot. That will not clean a surface as well as 1500 PSI from a larger size jet.

    • and psi, which Bunnings & Masters advertise is not necessarily a good guide either.
Due to Aldi's lack of spec info, you make the best of the lemons you got….

  • Just picked one up today. Still plenty of stock in the Ringwood store (at least 6 this morning). Will test it our over the weekend, weather permitting, to remove 12 years of mold from our front driveway. Funny enough, the accessories are more popular then the units themselves because apprantly they fit on to other leading brands.
