Yeah, they previously used that version. Not sure why there's even two apps/two reward systems - I've previously used the overseas cards here.

Update, went to Starbucks Hide Park again, their rewards card scanning machines are both "Out of order" and theres a sign saying they cant process any rewards cards because of it. Seems fishy to me >:|

Yeah real awkward. Paid $7 bucks for one today to avoid the walk of shame…sigh. Cashier didn't end up swiping my purchase for my rewards app as well.
that is untrue (just made up story by whomever on that store, as the reward is active without any date restriction), i contacted starbucks au about this and they called the store that i purchased from to accept this offer without exception..
I visited the Circular Quay one today and they said it doesn't start until tomorrow too… so I was like "okay I won't buy anything then" and just walked out.

Successfully installed but got an error while doing sign up with their android Starbucks Australia Apps. Try to install & signup from my partner's phone & generate the same error while creating a new digital Starbucks Card.
An error occurred while making the HTTP request to https://www7.myicard.net:9443/ws/services/StoredValueService. This could be due to the fact that the server certificate is not configured properly with HTTP.SYS in the HTTPS case. This could also be caused by a mismatch of the security binding between the client and the server.

Not usually a fan of Starbucks coffee but I did try the green tea latte as someone here suggested and it was great. Probably a bit too sweet but good green tea flavour. A Venti size cup of this is a meal in itself.

Works at QVB store on iphone for anyone who still wants to try it out. You just have to tell them you have the 50% offer on your phone and they scan it.
Had issues at spencer street DFO. Didn't end up getting the discount.
The offer doesn't seem to have been extended to the android app yet.
